Isaiah 14

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Yahweh wil have pity on Jacob, he wil choose Israel once more and resettle them on their native soil.Foreigners will join them, attaching themselves to the House of Jacob.	1 Porque el Señor tendrá compasión de Jacob y elegirá de nuevo a Israel, y los instalará en su propio suelo. Los extranjeros se unirán a ellos y serán agregados a casa de Jacob.
2 Peoples wil take them and escort them home, and the House of Israel wil take them as slaves, menand women on Yahweh's soil. They wil enslave those who enslaved them and wil master their oppressors.	2 Los pueblos los acogerán y los llevarán a su lugar. La casa de Israel los poseerá como esclavos y esclavos, en el suelo del Señor. Así harán cautivos a los que los habían hecho cautivos y dominarán a sus tiranos.
3 When that day comes, and Yahweh gives you rest from your suffering and torment and the grimservitude to which you have been subjected,	3 Y el día en que el Señor te haga descansar de tu pena y tu tormento, y de la dura servidumbre a la que fuiste sometido,
4 you wil recite this satire on the king of Babylon and say: 'How did the tyrant end? How did hisarrogance end?	4 entonarás esta sátira contra el rey de Babilonia. Tú dirás: ¡Qué fin ha tenido el tirano, en qué acabó su frenes!
5 Yahweh has broken the staff of the wicked, the sceptre of rulers,	5 El Señor quebró el bastón de los malvados, el cetro de los déspotas;
6 furiously lashing peoples with continual blows, angrily hammering nations, pursuing without respite.	6 al que golpeaba con saña a los pueblos, dando golpes incesantes, al que dominaba con furia a las naciones persiguiendo sin tregua.
7 The whole world is at rest and calm, shouts of joy resounding,	7 Toda la tierra descansa tranquila, se lanzan gritos de júbilo.
8 the cypresses, the cedars of Lebanon, rejoice aloud at your fate, "Now that you have been laid low, noone comes up to fell us."	8 Hasta los cipreses, los cedros del Líbano, se regocijan de tu suerte: «¡Desde que yaces tendido, nadie sube a talamos!».
9 'On your account, Sheol below is astir to greet your arrival. He has roused the ghosts to greet you, althe rulers of the world. He has made al the kings of the nations get up from their thrones.	9 Abajo, se estremeció el Abismo al anuncio de tu llegada; por ti, él despierta a las Sombras, a los potentados de la tierra; hace levantar de sus tronos a todos los reyes de las naciones.
10 They will all greet you with the words, "So, you too are now as weak as we are! You, too, havebecome like us.	10 Todos ellos hablan a coro y te dicen: «¡Tú también has perdido las fuerzas como nosotros, te has vuelto igual que nosotros!
11 Your pride has been flung down to Sheol with the music of your lyres; under you a mattress ofmaggots, over you a blanket of worms.	11 Tu majestad ha sido precipitada al Abismo, junto con el sonido de tus arpas; tienes debajo de ti un colchón de gusanos y te cubren las lombrices».
12 How did you come to fal from the heavens, Daystar, son of Dawn? How did you come to be thrown tothe ground, conqueror of nations?	12 ¡Cómo has caído del cielo, Lucero, hijo de la aurora! ¡Cómo has sido precipitado por tierra, tú que subyugabas a las naciones,
13 You who used to think to yourself: I shal scale the heavens; higher than the stars of God I shall setmy throne. I shal sit on the Mount of Assembly far away to the north.	13 tú que decías en tu corazón: «Subiré a los cielos; por encima de las estrellas de Dios erigiré mi trono. me sentaré en la montaña de la asamblea divina. en los extremos del norte;
14 I shal climb high above the clouds, I shal rival the Most High."	14 escalaré las cimas de las nubes, seré semejante al Altísimo!».
15 Now you have been flung down to Sheol, into the depths of the abyss!	15 ¡Pero te han hecho bajar al Abismo, a las profundidades de la Fosa!
16 'When they see you, they will scrutinise you and consider what you have become, "Is this the manwho made the world tremble, who overthrew kingdoms?	16 Los que te ven, fijan en ti la mirada meditan tu suerte: «¿Es este el hombre que hacía temblar la tierra, que sacudía los reinos,
17 He made the world a desert, he level ed cities and never freed his prisoners to go home."	17 que hacía del mundo un desierto, demolía sus ciudades y no soltaba a sus prisioneros?».
18 Al other kings of nations, al of them, lie honourably, each in his own tomb;	18 Todos los reyes de las naciones descansan llenos de gloria, cada uno en su tumba.
19 but you have been thrown away, unburied, like a loathsome branch, covered with heaps of the slainpierced by the sword who fal on the rocks of the abyss like trampled carrion.	19 Pero tú has sido arrojado lejos de tu sepulcro como un aborto abominable, como un cadáver pisoteado. Los que han sido masacrados, traspasados sobre las piedras de la fosa.
20 'You wil not rejoin them in the grave, for you have brought your country to ruin and destroyed yourpeople. The offspring of the wicked leave no name behind them.	20 Pero tú no te unirás con ellos en una sepultura, porque has destruido tu país, has asesinado a tu pueblo. ¡Nunca más será nombrada una raza de malhechores!
21 Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their father! Never again must they rise to conquer theworld and cover the face of the earth with their cities.	21 Preparen la masacre de los hijos por los crímenes de sus padres que no se levanten para adueñarse de la tierra y cubrir de ciudades del mundo.
22 'I wil rise against them, declares Yahweh Sabaoth, and deprive Babylon of name, remnant, offspringand posterity, declares Yahweh.	22 Yo me alzaré contra ellos –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos– y extirparé de Babilonia el nombre y el resto, el vástago y la posteridad –oráculo del Señor –
23 I shal turn it into the haunt of hedgehogs, a swamp. I shal sweep it with the broom of destruction,declares Yahweh Sabaoth.'	23 La convertiré en propiedad de erizos, en agua estancada, y la barreré con la escoba del exterminio –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos–.
24 Yahweh Sabaoth has sworn it, 'Yes, what I have planned wil take place, what I have decided will beso:	24 El Señor de los ejércitos pronunció este juramento: «Sí, como lo he proyectado, así será; como lo he planeado, así sucederá.
25 'I shal break Assyria in my country, I shal trample on him on my mountains. Then his yoke wil slip offthem, his burden wil slip from their shoulders.'	25 Yo haré pedazos a Asiría en mi tierra y la pisotearé sobre mis montañas su yugo será quitado de encima de ellos y su carga se apartará de sus espaldas»
26 This is the decision taken in defiance of the whole world; this, the hand outstretched in defiance of alnations.	26 Esta es la decisión tomada contra toda la tierra; ésta es la mano extendida contra todas las naciones.
27 Once Yahweh Sabaoth has decided, who wil stop him? Once he stretches out his hand, who canwithdraw it?	27 Si el Señor de los ejércitos ha tomado una decisión. ¿quien la hará fracasar? Su mano está extendida, ¿quién la hará volver atrás?
28 In the year Ahaz died came this proclamation:	28 El año de la muerta del rey Ajaz se pronunció este oráculo:
29 Al Philistia, do not rejoice because the rod which used to beat you is now broken, for the serpentstock wil produce a viper, its offspring wil be a flying dragon.	29 No te alegres. Filistea entera, porque se ha quebrado la vara que te golpeaba: de la raíz de la serpiente saldrá una víbora y su fruto será una serpiente voladora.
30 While the first-born of the poor are grazing and the destitute are resting in safety, I shall make yourstock die of hunger and then slaughter what remains of you.	30 Los pobres pacerán en mi pradera y los indigentes se recostarán seguros; pero yo haré morir de hambre a tu raíz y mataré lo que aún quede de ti.
31 Howl, gate! Shriek, city! Totter, all Philistia! For a smoke is coming from the north, and there are nodeserters in those battalions.	31 ¡Gime, Puerta! ¡Grita, Ciudad! ¡Desfallece, Filistea toda entera! ¡Porque del Norte viene una humareda y nadie se desbanda en sus formaciones.
32 What reply wil be given then to the messengers of that nation? - That Yahweh founded Zion andthere the poor of his people will find refuge.	32 ¿Qué responder a los enviados de esa nación? Que el Señor ha fundado a Sión y que en ella se refugian los pobres de su pueblo.
