Isaiah 13

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 Proclamation about Babylon, seen by Isaiah son of Amoz.	1 Vaticinio a carico di Babilonia, veduto da Isaia figlio di Amos.
2 On a bare hill hoist a signal, shout for them, beckon them to come to the Nobles' Gate.	2 Sopra caliginosa montagna inalberate il vessillo, alzate la voce, agitate le mani, chè entrino nelle porte i condottieri.
3 I have issued orders to my sacred warriors, I have summoned my heroes to serve my anger, my proudchampions.	3 Ho già dati i miei ordini ai miei eletti, nel mio sdegno ho chiamati i miei forti, che esultano per la mia gloria.
4 The noise of a great crowd in the mountains, like an immense people, the tumultuous sound ofkingdoms, of nations mustering: it is Yahweh Sabaoth marshal ing the troops for battle.	4 Rumore di moltitudine sulle montagne, come di popolo numeroso, rumore di tumulto di re, di nazioni adunate: il Signore degli eserciti ha dati i suoi ordini alle milizie della guerra.
5 They come from a distant country, from the far horizons, Yahweh and the instruments of his fury to laythe whole country waste.	5 Esse vengono da lontani paesi, dagli ultimi confini del mondo, il Signore e gli strumenti del suo sdegno a distruggere tutta la terra.
6 Howl! For the Day of Yahweh is near, coming like devastation from Shaddai.	6 Alzate le strida; perchè il giorno del Signore è vicino: verrà lo sterminio, qual sa mandarlo l'Onnipotente.
7 This is why al hands fal limp, why al the men are losing heart;	7 E allora tutte le braccia di veranno impotenti, tutti i cuori degli uomini verranno meno.
8 they are panic-stricken, seized with pains and convulsions; they writhe like a woman in labour, theylook at one another appal ed, with feverish faces.	8 Tremeranno, si divincoleranno tra i dolori, si lamenteranno come una partoriente, si guarderanno gli uni gli altri con stupore: le loro facce saranno abbronzite.
9 Look, the Day of Yahweh is coming, merciless, with wrath and burning anger, to reduce the country toa desert and root out the sinners from it.	9 Ecco è per venire il giorno del Signore, giorno crudele, pieno d'indignazione, d'ira, di furore: ridurrà la terra in un deserto, ne sterminerà i peccatori.
10 For in the sky the stars and Orion wil shed their light no longer, the sun wil be dark when it rises, andthe moon will no longer give its light.	10 Allora le stelle più lucenti del cielo non faran più brillare la loro luce, il sole si oscurerà dal mattino, la luna non darà più la sua luce;
11 I am going to punish the world for its wickedness and the wicked for their guilt, and put an end to thepride of the arrogant and humble the haughtiness of despots.	11 e io punirò le malvagità del mondo, l'iniquità degli empi; farò cessare la superbia degl'infedeli, umilierò l'arroganza dei forti.
12 I shal make people scarcer than pure gold, human life scarcer than the gold of Ophir.	12 Renderò l'uomo più raro dell'oro, il mortale più raro dell'oro finissimo.
13 This is why I am going to shake the heavens, why the earth wil reel on its foundations, under thewrath of Yahweh Sabaoth, the day when his anger ignites.	13 Di più sconvolgerò il cielo, si moverà dal suo posto la terra per lo sdegno del Signore degli eserciti, essendo il giorno della sua collera e del suo furore.
14 Then like a hunted gazel e, like sheep that nobody gathers in, everyone will head back to his people,everyone wil flee to his native land.	14 Essa sarà come gazzella che fugge, come gregge che non ha chi lo raduni: ognuno tornerà al suo popolo, ciascuno fuggirà al suo paese.
15 Al those who are found wil be stabbed, al those captured wil fal by the sword,	15 Chiunque sarà trovato sarà ucciso, e quanti seguiranno periranno di spada.
16 their babies dashed to pieces before their eyes, their houses plundered, their wives raped.	16 I loro bambini saranno sfracellati sotto i loro occhi, le loro case saranno saccheggiate, violate le loro mogli.
17 Look, against them I am stirring up the Medes who care nothing for silver, who set no value by gold.	17 Ecco io susciterò contro di loro i Medi, che non cercano argento, non vogliono oro;
18 Bows wil annihilate the young men, they wil have no pity for the fruit of the womb, or mercy in theireyes for children.	18 ma colle loro frecce uccideranno i bambini, senza aver pietà per i seni che allattano, senza avere occhio di compassione per i loro figli.
19 And Babylon, that pearl of kingdoms, that splendid jewel of the Chaldaeans, wil , like Sodom andGomorrah, be overthrown by God.	19 E la famosa Babilonia, la gloria dei regni, l'inclito orgoglio dei Caldei, sarà come Sodoma e Gomorra, distrutte dal Signore.
20 Never again will anyone live there or reside there for al generations to come. Never again wil theArab pitch his tent there, or the shepherds bring their flocks to rest.	20 Non sarà più abitata, non sarà riedificata per tutte le generazioni, nè vi alzerà le sue tende l'Arabo, nè vi riposeranno i pastori.
21 But beasts of the desert wil make their haunt there and owls fill their houses, there ostriches wil settletheir home, there goats will dance.	21 Ma vi si accovaceranno le fiere; le loro case saran piene di dragoni, vi abiteranno gli struzzi, e vi balleranno i satiri.
22 Hyenas wil howl in its towers, jackals in its delightful palaces, for its doom is about to come and itsdays wil not last long.	22 Si risponderanno i gufi nei suoi palazzi, e le sirene nelle case del piacere.
