Isaiah 13

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Proclamation about Babylon, seen by Isaiah son of Amoz.	1 Oráculo contra Babilonia, que contempló Isaías, hijo de Amós.
2 On a bare hill hoist a signal, shout for them, beckon them to come to the Nobles' Gate.	2 Sobre el monte pelado izad la bandera, levantad la voz a ellos, agitad la mano y que entren por las puertas de los nobles.
3 I have issued orders to my sacred warriors, I have summoned my heroes to serve my anger, my proudchampions.	3 Yo he mandado a mis consagrados y también he llamado a mis valientes, para ejecutar mi ira a mis gallardos.
4 The noise of a great crowd in the mountains, like an immense people, the tumultuous sound ofkingdoms, of nations mustering: it is Yahweh Sabaoth marshal ing the troops for battle.	4 ¡Ruido estruendoso en los montes, como de mucha gente! ¡Ruido estrepitoso de reinos, naciones reunidas! Yahveh Sebaot pasa revista a su tropa de combate.
5 They come from a distant country, from the far horizons, Yahweh and the instruments of his fury to laythe whole country waste.	5 Vienen de tierra lejana, del cabo de los cielos, Yahveh y los instrumentos de su enojo para arrasar toda la tierra.
6 Howl! For the Day of Yahweh is near, coming like devastation from Shaddai.	6 Ululad, que cercano está el Día de Yahveh, como la destrucción de Sadday viene.
7 This is why al hands fal limp, why al the men are losing heart;	7 Por eso todos los brazos decaen y todo corazón humano se derrite.
8 they are panic-stricken, seized with pains and convulsions; they writhe like a woman in labour, theylook at one another appal ed, with feverish faces.	8 Se empavorecen, angustias y apuros les sobrecogen, cual parturienta se duelen. Cada cual se asusta de su prójimo. Son los suyos rostros llameantes.
9 Look, the Day of Yahweh is coming, merciless, with wrath and burning anger, to reduce the country toa desert and root out the sinners from it.	9 He aquí que el Día de Yahveh viene implacable, el arrebato, el ardor de su ira, a convertir la tierra en yermo y exterminar de ella a los pecadores.
10 For in the sky the stars and Orion wil shed their light no longer, the sun wil be dark when it rises, andthe moon will no longer give its light.	10 Cuando las estrellas del cielo y la constelación de Orión no alumbren ya, esté oscurecido el sol en su salida y no brille la luz de la luna,
11 I am going to punish the world for its wickedness and the wicked for their guilt, and put an end to thepride of the arrogant and humble the haughtiness of despots.	11 pasaré revista al orbe por su malicia y a los malvados por su culpa. Haré cesar la arrogancia de los insolentes, y la soberbia de los desmandados humillaré.
12 I shal make people scarcer than pure gold, human life scarcer than the gold of Ophir.	12 Haré que el hombre sea más escaso que el oro fino, y la humanidad más que metal de Ofir.
13 This is why I am going to shake the heavens, why the earth wil reel on its foundations, under thewrath of Yahweh Sabaoth, the day when his anger ignites.	13 Por eso haré temblar los cielos, y se removerá la tierra de su sitio, en el arrebato de Yahveh Sebaot, en el día de su ira hirviente.
14 Then like a hunted gazel e, like sheep that nobody gathers in, everyone will head back to his people,everyone wil flee to his native land.	14 Será como gacela acosada, como ovejas cuando no hay quien las reúna: cada uno enfilará hacia su pueblo, cada uno huirá hacia su tierra.
15 Al those who are found wil be stabbed, al those captured wil fal by the sword,	15 Todo el que fuere descubierto será traspasado, y todo el que fuere apresado caerá por la espada.
16 their babies dashed to pieces before their eyes, their houses plundered, their wives raped.	16 Sus párvulos serán estrellados ante sus ojos, serán saqueadas sus casas, y sus mujeres violadas.
17 Look, against them I am stirring up the Medes who care nothing for silver, who set no value by gold.	17 He aquí que yo despierto contra ellos a los medos, que no estiman la plata, ni desean el oro.
18 Bows wil annihilate the young men, they wil have no pity for the fruit of the womb, or mercy in theireyes for children.	18 Machacarán a todos sus muchachos, estrellarán a todas sus muchachas, del fruto del vientre no se apiadarán ni de las criaturas tendrán lástima sus ojos.
19 And Babylon, that pearl of kingdoms, that splendid jewel of the Chaldaeans, wil , like Sodom andGomorrah, be overthrown by God.	19 Babilonia, la flor de los reinos, prez y orgullo de Caldea, será semejante a Sodoma y Gomorra, destruidas por Dios.
20 Never again will anyone live there or reside there for al generations to come. Never again wil theArab pitch his tent there, or the shepherds bring their flocks to rest.	20 No será habitada jamás ni poblada en generaciones y generaciones, ni pondrá tienda allí el árabe, ni pastores apacentarán allí.
21 But beasts of the desert wil make their haunt there and owls fill their houses, there ostriches wil settletheir home, there goats will dance.	21 Allí tendrán aprisco bestias del desierto y se llenarán sus casas de mochuelos. Allí morarán las avestruces y los sátiros brincarán allí.
22 Hyenas wil howl in its towers, jackals in its delightful palaces, for its doom is about to come and itsdays wil not last long.	22 Se responderán las hienas en sus alcázares y los chacales en sus palacios de recreo. Su hora está para llegar y sus días no tendrán prórroga.
