1 The vision of Isaiah son of Amoz concerning Judah and Jerusalem, which he received in the reigns ofUzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah kings of Judah.	1 Visione d'Isaia figliuolo di Amos, la quale egli vide intorno alle cose di Giuda, e di Gerusalemme a' tempi di Ozia, di Joathan, di Achaz, e di Ezechia regi di Giuda.
2 Listen, you heavens; earth, attend, for Yahweh is speaking, 'I have reared children and brought them up,but they have rebel ed against me.	2 Udite, o cieli, e tu o terra porgi le orecchie. Il Signore ha parlato: Ho nudriti, e esaltati de' figli: ed eglino mi han disprezzato.
3 The ox knows its owner and the donkey its master's crib; Israel does not know, my people do notunderstand.'	3 Il bue distingue il suo padrone, e l'asino la greppia del suo signore: ma Israele non riconobbe, e il popolo mio non intende.
4 Disaster, sinful nation, people weighed down with guilt, race of wrong-doers, perverted children! Theyhave abandoned Yahweh, despised the Holy One of Israel, they have turned away from him.	4 Guai alla nazion peccatrice, al popolo aggravato d'iniquità, alla stirpe malvagia, ai figli scellerati: hanno abbandonato il Signore; hanno bestemmiato il santo d'Israele, si non separati, han voltate le spalle.
5 Where shal I strike you next, if you persist in treason? The whole head is sick, the whole heart isdiseased,	5 Perchè vi percuoterò io di più, se aggiungete prevaricazioni? Tutto il capo è malato, e tutto il cuore è afflitto;
6 from the sole of the foot to the head there is nothing healthy: only wounds, bruises and open sores notdressed, not bandaged, not soothed with ointment,	6 Dalla pianta del piede fino alla sommità della testa non è in lui sanità: ma ferite, e lividure, e piaga marciosa, che non è stata fasciata, né medicata, né disacerbata col balsamo.
7 your country a desolation, your towns burnt down, your soil, foreigners lay it waste before your eyes, adesolation like devastation by foreigners.	7 Deserta la vostra terra, incendiate le vostre cittadi: le possessioni vostre sugli occhi vostri son divorate dagli stranieri, e devastate come devasta il nimico.
8 The daughter of Zion is left like a shanty in a vineyard, like a shed in a cucumber field, like a citybesieged.	8 E rimarrà la figlia di Sion come una capanna in una vigna, e come un tugurio in un cocomeraio, e come città espugnata per forza.
9 Had Yahweh Sabaoth not left us a few survivors, we should be like Sodom, we should be the same asGomorrah.	9 Se il Signore degli eserciti non avesse lasciato di noi semenza, saremmo diventati come Sodoma, e simili saremmo stati a Gomorra.
10 Hear what Yahweh says, you rulers of Sodom; listen to what our God teaches, you people ofGomorrah.	10 Udite la parola del Signore voi principi di Sodoma, porgi le orecchie alla legge del nostro Dio tu popolo di Gomorra.
11 'What are your endless sacrifices to me?' says Yahweh. 'I am sick of burnt offerings of rams and the fatof calves. I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats.	11 Che ho da far io della moltitudine delle vostre vittime, dice il Signore? Io ne son pieno. Io non amo gli olocausti degli arieti, e il grasso de' pingui bovi, e il sangue de' vitelli, e degli agnelli, e de' capri.
12 When you come and present yourselves before me, who has asked you to trample through my courts?	12 Quando voi vi presentate al cospetto mio, chi ha domandate tal cose dalle vostre mani per farvi spasseggiare pe' miei cortili?
13 Bring no more futile cereal offerings, the smoke from them fil s me with disgust. New Moons, Sabbaths,assemblies -- I cannot endure solemnity combined with guilt.	13 Non offerite più sagrifizio inutilmente: ho in abbominazione l'incenso. Non posso patire il Novilunio, e il sabato, e le altre feste. Sono iniquità le vostre adunanze.
14 Your New Moons and your meetings I utterly detest; to me they are a burden I am tired of bearing.	14 Le vostre calende, e le vostre solennità sono odiose all'anima mia: mi son diventate moleste, sono stanco di sopportarle.
15 When you stretch out your hands I turn my eyes away. You may multiply your prayers, I shal not belistening. Your hands are covered in blood,	15 E allorché stenderete le vostre mani, rivolgerò gli occhi da voi; e allorché moltiplicherete le preghiere, non darò retta; imperocché le mani vostre son piene di sangue.
16 wash, make yourselves clean. Take your wrong-doing out of my sight. Cease doing evil.	16 Lavatevi, mondatevi, togliete da gli occhi miei la malvagità de' vostri pensieri, ponete fine al mal fare,
17 Learn to do good, search for justice, discipline the violent, be just to the orphan, plead for the widow.	17 Imparate a fare del bene; cercate quello, che è giusto, soccorrete l'oppresso, proteggete il pupillo, difendete la vedova.
18 'Come, let us talk this over,' says Yahweh. 'Though your sins are like scarlet, they shal be white assnow; though they are red as crimson, they shal be like wool.	18 E venite, e doletevi di me, dice il Signore: se saranno i peccati vostri come cocciniglia, saran fatti bianchi come la neve; e se saran rossi come il baco della cocciniglia, saran fatti del colore di bianca lana.
19 If you are willing to obey, you shall eat the good things of the earth.	19 Se vorrete, e mi ascolterete, sarete nudriti de' frutti della terra.
20 But if you refuse and rebel, the sword shal eat you instead -- for Yahweh's mouth has spoken.'	20 Che se non vorrete, e provocherete il mio sdegno, la spada vi consumerà; imperocché la bocca del Signore ha parlato cosi:
21 The faithful city, what a harlot she has become! Zion, once ful of fair judgement, where saving justiceused to dwell, but now assassins!	21 Come mai la città fedele piena di equità è diventata una adultera? Ella fu già sede di giustizia, ora poi di omicidi.
22 Your silver has turned into dross, your wine is watered.	22 Il tuo argento si è cangiato in iscoria: il tuo vino è stato mescolato coll'acqua.
23 Your princes are rebels, accomplices of brigands. Al of them greedy for presents and eager for bribes,they show no justice to the orphan, and the widow's cause never reaches them.	23 I tuoi magnati infedeli fanno a mezzo co' ladri; tutti quanti amano i regali, van dietro al guadagno: non rendon ragione al pupillo, e la causa della vedova non trova accesso presso di loro.
24 Hence, the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth, the Mighty One of Israel, says this, 'Disaster, I shall get the better ofmy enemies, I shall avenge myself on my foes.	24 Per questo dice il Signore Dio degli eserciti il (Dio) forte d'Israele: Ahi; che io prenderò satisfazione de' miei avversarj, e farò vendetta de' miei nemici.
25 'I shal turn my hand against you, I shal purge your dross as though with potash, I shal remove al youral oy.	25 E stenderò sopra di te la mia mano, e purificherò la tua alchimia, e toglierò da te il tuo stagno.
26 'And I shal restore your judges as at first, your counsel ors as in bygone days, after which you wil becal ed City of Saving Justice, Faithful City.'	26 E renderò i tuoi giudici quali eran prima, e i tuoi consiglieri come in antico, dopo di ciò sarai chiamata città del giusto, città fedele.
27 Zion wil be redeemed by fair judgement, and those who return, by saving justice.	27 Sionne sarà redenta in giudizio, e rimessa in libertà per giustizia:
28 Rebels and sinners alike wil be destroyed, and those who abandon Yahweh wil perish.	28 Ma (Dio) distruggerà insieme gli scellerati, e i peccatori, e coloro, che hanno abbandonato il Signore saranno consunti.
29 How ashamed you wil be of the terebinths which gave you such delight; and how you wil blush for thegardens which you chose!	29 Imperocché saranno la lor confusione gl'idoli, a' quali sagrificarono, e vi vergognerete degli orti amati da voi,
30 For you wil be like a terebinth with faded leaves, like a garden without water;	30 Allorché sarete qual quercia cadute le foglie, e come orto senz'acqua.
31 the strong wil become like tinder, his work like the spark; both wil go up in flames together, with no oneto put them out.	31 E la vostra fortezza sarà quasi stoppa, che va in faville, e le opere vostre quasi scintilla; e l'una, e l'altre aiuteranno nel fuoco, cui nissuno estinguerà.
