2 God looks down from heaven at the children of Adam, to see if a single one is wise, a single oneseeks God.	2 Die Toren sagen in ihrem Herzen: «Es gibt keinen Gott.» Sie handeln verwerflich und schnöde; da ist keiner, der Gutes tut.
3 Al have proved faithless, al alike turned sour, not one of them does right, not a single one.	3 Gott blickt vom Himmel herab auf die Menschen, ob noch ein Verständiger da ist, der Gott sucht.
4 Are they not aware, these evil-doers? They are devouring my people; this is the bread they eat, andthey never call upon God.	4 Alle sind sie abtrünnig und verdorben, keiner tut Gutes, auch nicht ein Einziger.
5 They wil be gripped with fear, just where there is no need for fear, for God scatters the bones of himwho besieges you; they are mocked because God rejects them.	5 Haben denn die Übeltäter keine Einsicht? Sie verschlingen mein Volk. Sie essen Gottes Brot, doch seinen Namen rufen sie nicht an.
6 Who wil bring from Zion salvation for Israel? When God brings his people home, what joy for Jacob,what happiness for Israel!	6 Es trifft sie Furcht und Schrecken, obwohl doch nichts zu fürchten ist. Deinen Bedrängern hat Gott die Glieder zerschlagen. Gott lässt sie scheitern, denn er hat sie verworfen.
	7 Ach käme doch vom Zion Hilfe für Israel! Wenn Gott einst das Geschick seines Volkes wendet, dann jubelt Jakob, dann freut sich Israel.
