[For the choirmaster Of the sons of Korah For oboe Song] God is both refuge and strength for us, ahelp always ready in trouble; | 1 Unto the end. A Psalm for the sons of Korah. |
so we shall not be afraid though the earth be in turmoil, though mountains tumble into the depths ofthe sea, | 2 All nations, clap your hands. Shout joyfully to God with a voice of exultation. |
and its waters roar and seethe, and the mountains totter as it heaves. (Yahweh Sabaoth is with us, ourcitadel, the God of Jacob.)Pause | 3 For the Lord is exalted and terrible: a great King over all the earth. |
There is a river whose streams bring joy to God's city, it sanctifies the dwel ing of the Most High. | 4 He has subjected the peoples to us and subdued the nations under our feet. |
God is in the city, it cannot fal ; at break of day God comes to its rescue. | 5 He has chosen us for his inheritance: the splendor of Jacob, whom he has loved. |
Nations are in uproar, kingdoms are tumbling, when he raises his voice the earth crumbles away. | 6 God ascends with jubilation, and the Lord with the voice of the trumpet. |
Yahweh Sabaoth is with us, our citadel, the God of Jacob. Pause | 7 Sing psalms to our God, sing psalms. Sing psalms to our King, sing psalms. |
Come, consider the wonders of Yahweh, the astounding deeds he has done on the earth; | 8 For God is the King of all the earth. Sing psalms wisely. |
he puts an end to wars over the whole wide world, he breaks the bow, he snaps the spear, shields heburns in the fire. | 9 God will reign over the peoples. God sits upon his holy throne. |
'Be stil and acknowledge that I am God, supreme over nations, supreme over the world.' | 10 The leaders of the peoples have been gathered together by the God of Abraham. For the strong gods of the earth have been exceedingly exalted. |
Yahweh Sabaoth is with us, our citadel, the God of Jacob.Pause |
