Psalms 124

NEW JERUSALEM	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 [Song of Ascents Of David] If Yahweh had not been on our side -- let Israel repeat it-	1 A Canticle in steps. Those who trust in the Lord will be like the mountain of Zion. He will not be disturbed for eternity, who dwells
2 if Yahweh had not been on our side when people attacked us,	2 in Jerusalem. Mountains surround it. And the Lord surrounds his people, from this time forward and even forever.
3 they would have swal owed us alive in the heat of their anger.	3 For the Lord will not allow the rod of sinners to remain over the lot of the just, so that the just may not extend their hands toward iniquity.
4 Then water was washing us away, a torrent running right over us;	4 Do good, O Lord, to the good and to the upright of heart.
5 running right over us then were turbulent waters.	5 But those who turn away into obligation, the Lord will lead away with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel.
6 Blessed be Yahweh for not letting us fall a prey to their teeth!
7 We escaped like a bird from the fowlers' net. The net was broken and we escaped;
8 our help is in the name of Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.
