1 Yahweh said to Moses, 'Cut two tablets of stone like the first ones and come up to me on themountain, and I wil write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.	1 E di poi disse (il Signore): Fatti due tavole di pietra simili alle prime, e sopra di esse io scriverò le parole, che erano nelle tavole, che tu spezzasti.
2 Be ready at dawn; at dawn come up Mount Sinai and wait for me there at the top of the mountain.	2 Sarai preparato domattina per tosto salire al monte Sinai: e starai meco sulla vetta del monte.
3 No one may come up with you, no one may be seen anywhere on the mountain; the flocks and herdsmay not even graze in front of this mountain.'	3 Nissuno venga con te, né uomo si vegga per tutto il monte: i buoi ancora, e le pecore non pascolino a dirimpetto.
4 So he cut two tablets of stone like the first and, with the two tablets of stone in his hands, Moses wentup Mount Sinai in the early morning as Yahweh had ordered.	4 Segò egli adunque due tavole di pietra, quali eran le prime: e alzatosi la notte salì al monte Sinai, conforme gli avea ordinato il Signore, e portò le tavole.
5 And Yahweh descended in a cloud and stood with him there and pronounced the name Yahweh.	5 Ed essendo disceso il Signore in una nuvola, Mosè si stette con lui, e quegli intuonò il nome del Signore.
6 Then Yahweh passed before him and cal ed out, 'Yahweh, Yahweh, God of tenderness andcompassion, slow to anger, rich in faithful love and constancy,	6 Il quale passando davanti a lui, disse: Dominatore, Signore Dio, misericordioso e clemente, paziente, e di molta misericordia, e verace,
7 maintaining his faithful love to thousands, forgiving fault, crime and sin, yet letting nothing gounchecked, and punishing the parent's fault in the children and in the grandchildren to the third and fourthgeneration!'	7 Che mantieni la misericordia a mille generazioni: che togli le iniquità, e le scelleratezze, e i peccati, e nissuno è di per sé innocente davanti a te: che punisci l'iniquità dei padri sopra i figli e i nipoti fino alla terza e quarta generazione.
8 Moses immediately bowed to the ground in worship,	8 E Mosè tosto s'incurvò profondamente fino a terra, e adorando (Dio)
9 then he said, 'If indeed I do enjoy your favour, please, my Lord, come with us, although they are anobstinate people; and forgive our faults and sins, and adopt us as your heritage.'	9 Disse: Signore, se io ho trovato grazia nel tuo cospetto, pregoti, che tu venga con noi (perocché questo popolo è di dura cervice), e che tu tolga le nostre iniquità, e i peccati, e prenda possesso di noi.
10 He then said, 'Look, I am now making a covenant: I shal work such wonders at the head of yourwhole people as have never been worked in any other country or nation, and all the people round you wil seewhat Yahweh can do, for what I shal do through you wil be awe-inspiring.	10 Rispose il Signore: Io fermerò l'alleanza al cospetto di tutti: farò prodigi, quali non si son veduti mai sulla terra, né presso alcuna nazione: affinché queste popolo, cui tu conduci, vegga le terribili opre, che io Signore sono per fare.
11 Mark, then, what I command you today. I am going to drive out the Amorites, the Canaanites, theHittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites before you.	11 Osserva tutte quelle cose, che io oggi ti comando; io stesso discaccerò davanti a te l'Amorrheo, e il Chananeo, e l'Hetheo, e anche il Pherezeo, e l'Heveo, e' l Jebuseo.
12 Take care you make no pact with the inhabitants of the country which you are about to enter, or theywil prove a snare in your community.	12 Guardati dal contrar giammai amicizia cogli abitatori di quella terra, lo che sarebbe tua rovina:
13 You wil tear down their altars, smash their cultic stones and cut down their sacred poles,	13 Ma distruggi i loro altari, spezza le statue, e incendia i boschetti.
14 for you wil worship no other god, since Yahweh's name is the Jealous One; he is a jealous God.	14 Non adorare alcun Dio straniero: il Signore ha nome Zelatore: Dio è geloso.
15 Make no pact with the inhabitants of the country or, when they prostitute themselves to their owngods and sacrifice to them, they wil invite you and you wil partake of their sacrifice,	15 Non far lega cogli uomini di que' paesi, affinché non avvenga, che dopo aver essi fornicato co' loro dii, e aver adorati i loro simulacri, alcun di loro ti chiami a mangiare delle cose immolate.
16 and then you wil choose wives for your sons from among their daughters, and their daughters,prostituting themselves to their own gods, wil induce your sons to prostitute themselves to their gods.	16 Né le loro figlie farai sposare a' tuoi figliuoli; perché non avvenga, che dopo aver esse fornicato co' loro dii, a fornicazione inducano anche i tuoi figliuoli.
17 'You wil not cast metal gods for yourself.	17 Non ti farai Dei di getto.
18 'You wil observe the feast of Unleavened Bread. For seven days you wil eat unleavened bread, as Ihave commanded you, at the appointed time in the month of Abib, for in the month of Abib you came out ofEgypt.	18 Osserverai la solennità degli azzimi. Per sette giorni mangerai azzimo, come ti ho comandato, nel mese delle nuove biade; perocché nel mese, che principia la primavera, tu sei uscito dall’Egitto.
19 'Al that first issues from the womb belongs to me: every male, every first-born of flock or herd.	19 Tutti i primi parti maschi saranno miei: d'ogni specie d'animali tanto de' buoi, come delle pecore, saranno miei.
20 But the first-born donkey you wil redeem with an animal from the flock; if you do not redeem it, youmust break its neck. Al the first-born of your sons you will redeem, and no one wil appear before me empty-handed.	20 Riscatterai con una pecora il primogenito dell'asino: che se non dai il suo riscatto, sarà ucciso: i primogeniti dei tuoi figliuoli li riscatterai; e non comparirai dinanzi a me colle mani vote.
21 'For six days you wil labour, but on the seventh day you wil rest; you wil stop work even duringploughing and harvesting.	21 Sei giorni lavorerai: il settimo giorno cesserai dall'arare e dal mietere.
22 'You wil observe the feast of Weeks, of the first-fruits of the wheat harvest, and the feast ofIngathering at the close of the year.	22 Celebrerai la solennità delle (sette) settimane colle primizie della tua messe di frumento, e la (altra) solennità, quando alla fine dell’anno il tutto è ritirato.
23 'Three times a year al your menfolk wil appear before Lord Yahweh, God of Israel,	23 Tre volte l'anno si presenteranno tutti i tuoi maschi al cospetto del Signore onnipotente Dio d'Israele.
24 for I shal dispossess the nations before you and extend your frontiers, and no one wil set his hearton your territory when you go away to appear before Yahweh your God three times a year.	24 Perocché quando io ti avrò tolto davanti quelle nazioni, e avrò dilatati i tuoi contini, nissuno penserà a invadere la tua terra nel tempo che tu anderai a presentarti al cospetto del Signore Dio tuo tre volte l'anno.
25 'You wil not offer the blood of my sacrificial victim with leavened bread, nor is the victim offered atthe feast of Passover to be left until the fol owing day.	25 Non offerirai il sangue della mia vittima col fermentato: e non rimarrà pel mattino parte alcuna di quella vittima solenne della Pasqua.
26 'You wil bring the best of the first-fruits of your soil to the house of Yahweh your God. 'You wil notboil a kid in its mother's milk.'	26 Offerirai le primizie della tua terra nella casa del Signore Dio tuo. Non cuocerai il capretto nel latte di sua madre.
27 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Put these words in writing, for they are the terms of the covenant whichI have made with you and with Israel.'	27 E il Signore disse a Mosè: Scrivi tu queste cose, mediante le quali ho contratto alleanza teco, e co' figliuoli d'Israele.
28 He stayed there with Yahweh for forty days and forty nights, eating and drinking nothing, and on thetablets he wrote the words of the covenant -- the Ten Words.	28 Egli adunque ivi si stette col Signore per quaranta giorni, e quaranta notti: non mangiò pane, e non bevve acqua; e scrisse sulle tavole le dieci parole dell’alleanza.
29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hands, as hewas coming down the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face was radiant because he had beentalking to him.	29 E nello scendere che fece Mosè dal monte Sinai, portava le due tavole del testamento; ma non sapea che la sua faccia era tutta splendente dopo che ei si era trattenuto a parlar col Signore.
30 And when Aaron and al the Israelites saw Moses, the skin on his face was so radiant that they wereafraid to go near him.	30 Ma veggendo Aronne, e i figliuoli d'Israele, come splendente era la faccia di Mosè, non avevano ardire di accostarsegli da vicino.
31 But Moses called to them, and Aaron and al the leaders of the community rejoined him, and Mosestalked to them,	31 Ed essendo chiamati da lui andarono sì Aronne, e sì i principi della sinagoga. E dopo che egli ebbe parlato con essi,
32 after which al the Israelites came closer, and he passed on to them al the orders that Yahweh hadgiven to him on Mount Sinai.	32 Andarono a lui anche tutti gli altri figliuoli d'Israele, a' quali intimò tutto quello che avea sentito dirsi dal Signore nel monte Sinai.
33 Once Moses had finished speaking to them, he put a veil over his face.	33 E finito che ebbe di parlare, pose un velo sulla sua faccia:
34 Whenever Moses went into Yahweh's presence to speak with him, he took the veil off until he cameout. And when he came out, he would tel the Israelites what orders he had been given,	34 Il quale (velo), quando andava a parlar col Signore, se lo levava, per fino a tanto che uscendo annunziava a' figliuoli d'Israele tutto quello che gli veniva comandato.
35 and the Israelites would see Moses' face radiant. Then Moses would put the veil back over his faceuntil he went in to speak to him next time.	35 Vedevano quelli, come la faccia di Mosè era tutta splendente, quando egli usciva; ma copriva egli la sua faccia ogni volta che parlava con essi.
