Exodus 15

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 It was then that Moses and the Israelites sang this song in Yahweh's honour: I shall sing to Yahweh,for he has covered himself in glory, horse and rider he has thrown into the sea.	1 Então Moisés e os israelitas entoaram em honra do Senhor o seguinte cântico: "Cantarei ao Senhor, porque ele manifestou sua glória. Precipitou no mar cavalos e cavaleiros.
2 Yah is my strength and my song, to him I owe my deliverance. He is my God and I shal praise him,my father's God and I shal extol him.	2 O Senhor é a minha força e o objeto do meu cântico; foi ele quem me salvou. Ele é o meu Deus - eu o celebrarei; o Deus de meu pai - eu o exaltarei.
3 Yahweh is a warrior; Yahweh is his name.	3 O Senhor é o herói dos combates, seu nome é Javé.
4 Pharaoh's chariots and army he has hurled into the sea the pick of his officers have been drowned inthe Sea of Reeds.	4 Lançou no mar os carros do faraó e o seu exército; a elite de seus combatentes afogou-se no mar Vermelho;
5 The ocean has closed over them; they have sunk to the bottom like a stone.	5 o abismo os cobriu; afundaram-se nas águas como pedra.
6 Your right hand, Yahweh, wins glory by its strength, your right hand, Yahweh, shatters your foes,	6 A vossa {mão} direita, ó Senhor, manifestou sua força. Vossa direita aniquilou o inimigo.
7 and by your great majesty you fell your assailants; you unleash your fury, it consumes them like chaff.	7 Por vossa soberana majestade derrotais vossos adversários; desencadeais vossa cólera, e ela os consome como palha.
8 A blast from your nostrils and the waters piled high; the waves stood firm as a dyke; the bed of the seabecame firm ground.	8 Ao sopro de vosso furor amontoaram-se as águas; levantaram-se as ondas como muralha, solidificaram-se as vagas no coração do mar.
9 The enemy said, 'I shal give chase and overtake, 'I shal share out the spoil and glut myself on them, 'Ishall draw my sword, my hand wil destroy them.'	9 Dizia o inimigo: perseguirei, alcançarei, repartirei o despojo, satisfarei meu desejo de vingança, desembainharei a espada, minha mão os destruirá.
10 You blew with your breath, the sea closed over them; they sank like lead in the terrible waters.	10 Ao sopro de vosso hálito o mar os sepultou; submergiram como chumbo na vastidão das águas.
11 Yahweh, who is like you, majestic in sanctity, who like you among the holy ones, fearsome of deed,worker of wonders?	11 Quem entre os deuses é semelhante a vós, Senhor? Quem é semelhante a vós, glorioso por vossa santidade, temível por vossos feitos dignos de louvor, e que operais prodígios?
12 You stretched your right hand out, the earth swallowed them!	12 Apenas estendestes a mão, e a terra os tragou.
13 In your faithful love you led out the people you had redeemed, in your strength you have guided themto your holy dwel ing.	13 Conduzistes com bondade esse povo, que libertastes; e com vosso poder o guiastes à vossa morada santa.
14 Hearing of this, the peoples tremble; pangs seize on the people of Philistia;	14 Ao ouvir isso, estremeceram os povos. Um pavor imenso apoderou-se dos filisteus;
15 the chieftains of Edom are dismayed, Moab's princes -- panic has seized them, all the inhabitants ofCanaan have melted away.	15 os chefes de Edom ficaram aterrados; a angústia tomou conta dos valentes de Moab; tremeram de medo todos os habitantes de Canaã.
16 On them fall terror and dread; through the power of your arm they are stil as stone while your peopleare passing, Yahweh, while the people you have purchased are passing.	16 Caíram sobre eles o terror e a angústia, o poder do vosso braço os petrificou, até que tivesse passado o vosso povo, Senhor até que tivesse passado o povo que adquiristes para vós.
17 You wil bring them in and plant them on the mountain which is your heritage, the place which you,Yahweh, have made your dwel ing, the sanctuary, Yahweh, prepared by your own hands.	17 Conduzi-lo-eis e o plantareis na montanha que vos pertence, no lugar que preparastes para vossa habitação, Senhor, no santuário, Senhor, que vossas mãos fundaram.
18 Yahweh will be king for ever and ever.	18 O Senhor é rei para sempre, sem fim!"
19 For when Pharaoh's cavalry, with his chariots and horsemen, had gone into the sea, Yahweh broughtthe waters of the sea back over them, though the Israelites went on dry ground right through the sea.	19 Os cavalos do faraó, com efeito, entraram no mar com seus carros e seus cavaleiros, e o Senhor os envolveu nas águas, enquanto os israelitas passaram a pé enxuto o leito do mar.
20 The prophetess Miriam, Aaron's sister, took up a tambourine, and all the women fol owed her withtambourines, dancing,	20 A profetisa Maria, irmã de Aarão, tomou seu tamborim na mão, e todas as mulheres seguiram-na dançando com tamborins.
21 while Miriam took up from them the refrain: Sing to Yahweh, for he has covered himself in glory,horse and rider he has thrown into the sea.	21 Maria as acompanhava entoando: "Cantai ao Senhor, porque fez brilhar a sua glória, precipitou no mar cavalos e cavaleiros!"
22 Moses led Israel away from the Sea of Reeds, and they entered the desert of Shur. They thentravel ed through the desert for three days without finding water.	22 Moisés fez partir os israelitas do mar Vermelho e os dirigiu para o deserto de Sur. Caminharam três dias no deserto, sem encontrar água.
23 When they reached Marah, they could not drink the Marah water because it was bitter; this is why theplace was named Marah.	23 Chegaram a Mara, onde não puderam beber de sua água, porque era amarga, de onde o nome de Mara que deram a esse lugar.
24 The people complained to Moses saying, 'What are we to drink?'	24 Então o povo murmurou contra Moisés: "Que havemos de beber?"
25 Moses appealed to Yahweh for help, and Yahweh showed him a piece of wood. When Moses threwit into the water, the water became sweet. There he laid down a statute and law for them and there he put themto the test. Then he said,	25 Moisés clamou ao Senhor, e o Senhor indicou-lhe um madeiro que ele jogou na água. E esta tornou-se doce. Foi nesse lugar que o Senhor deu ao povo preceitos e leis, e ali o provou.
26 'If you listen careful y to the voice of Yahweh your God and do what he regards as right, if you payattention to his commandments and keep al his laws, I shal never inflict on you any of the diseases that Iinflicted on the Egyptians, for I am Yahweh your Healer.'	26 Disse-lhe: "Se ouvires a voz do Senhor, teu Deus, e fizeres o que é reto aos seus olhos, se inclinares os ouvidos às suas ordens e observares todas as suas leis, não mandarei sobre ti nenhum dos males com que acabrunhei o Egito, porque eu sou o Senhor que te cura."
27 So they came to Elim where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees; and there theypitched camp beside the water.	27 E chegaram a Elim, onde havia doze fontes de água e setenta palmeiras; e ali acamparam junto das águas.
