1 It was then that Moses and the Israelites sang this song in Yahweh's honour: I shall sing to Yahweh,for he has covered himself in glory, horse and rider he has thrown into the sea.	1 Akkor Mózes és Izrael fiai ezt az éneket énekelték az Úrnak: »Énekeljünk az Úrnak, mert fenségeset művelt, lovat és lovast a tengerbe vetett!
2 Yah is my strength and my song, to him I owe my deliverance. He is my God and I shal praise him,my father's God and I shal extol him.	2 Az Úré az én erőm és dicsérő énekem, mert ő lett az én szabadulásom. Ő az én Istenem, hadd dicsőítsem, Atyámnak Istene, hadd magasztaljam!
3 Yahweh is a warrior; Yahweh is his name.	3 Olyan az Úr, mint hős harcos: Mindenható az ő neve,
4 Pharaoh's chariots and army he has hurled into the sea the pick of his officers have been drowned inthe Sea of Reeds.	4 a fáraó szekereit és seregét a tengerbe vetette, válogatott vezérei elmerültek a Vörös-tengerben.
5 The ocean has closed over them; they have sunk to the bottom like a stone.	5 Hullámok borították el őket, miként a kő, a mélységbe süllyedtek.
6 Your right hand, Yahweh, wins glory by its strength, your right hand, Yahweh, shatters your foes,	6 Jobbodat, Uram, megdicsőíti ereje, jobbod, Uram, az ellenséget megverte.
7 and by your great majesty you fell your assailants; you unleash your fury, it consumes them like chaff.	7 Dicsőséged nagyságában elgáncsoltad ellenfeleidet, elengedted haragodat, s az mint tarlót, megemésztette őket.
8 A blast from your nostrils and the waters piled high; the waves stood firm as a dyke; the bed of the seabecame firm ground.	8 Haragod kiáradt, s a vizek feltorlódtak, a hömpölygő hullámok falként megálltak, s a tenger közepén a mélységek megdermedtek.
9 The enemy said, 'I shal give chase and overtake, 'I shal share out the spoil and glut myself on them, 'Ishall draw my sword, my hand wil destroy them.'	9 Szólt az ellenség: ‘Üldözöm és elérem, zsákmányt osztok, és megelégszik a lelkem, kirántom kardomat, s megöli őket a kezem.’
10 You blew with your breath, the sea closed over them; they sank like lead in the terrible waters.	10 De leheleted ráfújtad, és tenger borította el őket, a hatalmas vizekben, mint ólom, elmerültek.
11 Yahweh, who is like you, majestic in sanctity, who like you among the holy ones, fearsome of deed,worker of wonders?	11 Ki olyan, mint Te, Uram, az istenek között, ki olyan, mint Te, szentségben dicső, félelmetes, dicsérendő és csodatevő?
12 You stretched your right hand out, the earth swallowed them!	12 Kinyújtottad jobbodat, s a föld elnyelte őket.
13 In your faithful love you led out the people you had redeemed, in your strength you have guided themto your holy dwel ing.	13 A népet, melyet megváltottál, irgalmasan vezetted, szent lakóhelyedre hatalmaddal elvitted.
14 Hearing of this, the peoples tremble; pangs seize on the people of Philistia;	14 A népek felkeltek és haragra gerjedtek: Filisztea lakóit gyötrelem szállta meg,
15 the chieftains of Edom are dismayed, Moab's princes -- panic has seized them, all the inhabitants ofCanaan have melted away.	15 Edom fejedelmei megrökönyödtek, Moáb erőseit remegés szállta meg, Kánaán minden lakója megdermedt.
16 On them fall terror and dread; through the power of your arm they are stil as stone while your peopleare passing, Yahweh, while the people you have purchased are passing.	16 Szakadjon is rájuk félelem és rettegés, karod erejétől kővé meredjenek, míg átvonul közöttük, Uram, a te néped, míg átvonul néped, melyet a sajátoddá tettél!
17 You wil bring them in and plant them on the mountain which is your heritage, the place which you,Yahweh, have made your dwel ing, the sanctuary, Yahweh, prepared by your own hands.	17 Vidd be és ültesd őket örökséged hegyére, erős lakóhelyedre, melyet, Uram, te készítettél, szent helyedre, melyet kezed erősített meg,
18 Yahweh will be king for ever and ever.	18 s uralkodjék az Úr mindenkor, örökre!«
19 For when Pharaoh's cavalry, with his chariots and horsemen, had gone into the sea, Yahweh broughtthe waters of the sea back over them, though the Israelites went on dry ground right through the sea.	19 Bement ugyanis a fáraó lovassága, szekereivel és lovasaival együtt a tengerbe, az Úr pedig visszabocsátotta rájuk a tenger vizeit, míg Izrael fiai szárazon keltek át a tenger közepén.
20 The prophetess Miriam, Aaron's sister, took up a tambourine, and all the women fol owed her withtambourines, dancing,	20 Ekkor Mirjám próféta asszony, Áron nővére a dobot kezébe vette, kiment utána az összes asszony dobokkal, táncoló karokban,
21 while Miriam took up from them the refrain: Sing to Yahweh, for he has covered himself in glory,horse and rider he has thrown into the sea.	21 és ő így énekelt előttük: »Énekeljünk az Úrnak, mert fenségeset művelt, lovat és lovast a tengerbe vetett!«
22 Moses led Israel away from the Sea of Reeds, and they entered the desert of Shur. They thentravel ed through the desert for three days without finding water.	22 Mózes ezután elindította Izraelt a Vörös-tengertől. Kimentek a Súr pusztába, és három napig jártak a pusztában anélkül, hogy vízre akadtak volna.
23 When they reached Marah, they could not drink the Marah water because it was bitter; this is why theplace was named Marah.	23 Így jutottak el Márába, de Mára vizét sem ihatták, mert keserű volt. Ezért nevezték el azt a helyet Márának (azaz Keserűségnek).
24 The people complained to Moses saying, 'What are we to drink?'	24 Ekkor a nép zúgolódni kezdett Mózes ellen. Azt kérdezték: »Mit igyunk?«
25 Moses appealed to Yahweh for help, and Yahweh showed him a piece of wood. When Moses threwit into the water, the water became sweet. There he laid down a statute and law for them and there he put themto the test. Then he said,	25 Erre ő az Úrhoz kiáltott, és az Úr egy fadarabot mutatott neki. Amikor ő beledobta azt a vízbe, az édessé változott. Az Úr ott adott nekik parancsokat és rendeleteket, és ott tette őket próbára.
26 'If you listen careful y to the voice of Yahweh your God and do what he regards as right, if you payattention to his commandments and keep al his laws, I shal never inflict on you any of the diseases that Iinflicted on the Egyptians, for I am Yahweh your Healer.'	26 Azt mondta: »Ha hallgatsz az Úr, a te Istened szavára, ha azt cselekszed, ami helyes a szemében, ha engedelmeskedsz parancsainak, és megtartod minden rendeletét: azon betegségek közül, amelyeket Egyiptomra bocsátottam, egyet sem bocsátok rád: mert én, az Úr vagyok a te gyógyítód!«
27 So they came to Elim where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees; and there theypitched camp beside the water.	27 Izrael fiai ezután Elimbe jutottak, ahol tizenkét forrás és hetven pálmafa volt, és tábort ütöttek a vizek mellett.
