Exodus 15

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 It was then that Moses and the Israelites sang this song in Yahweh's honour: I shall sing to Yahweh,for he has covered himself in glory, horse and rider he has thrown into the sea.	1 Allora Mosè e gli Israeliti cantarono questo canto al Signore e dissero: «Voglio cantare al Signore, perché ha mirabilmente trionfato: cavallo e cavaliere ha gettato nel mare.
2 Yah is my strength and my song, to him I owe my deliverance. He is my God and I shal praise him,my father's God and I shal extol him.	2 Mia forza e mio canto è il Signore, egli è stato la mia salvezza. È il mio Dio: lo voglio lodare, il Dio di mio padre: lo voglio esaltare!
3 Yahweh is a warrior; Yahweh is his name.	3 Il Signore è un guerriero, Signore è il suo nome.
4 Pharaoh's chariots and army he has hurled into the sea the pick of his officers have been drowned inthe Sea of Reeds.	4 I carri del faraone e il suo esercito li ha scagliati nel mare; i suoi combattenti scelti furono sommersi nel Mar Rosso.
5 The ocean has closed over them; they have sunk to the bottom like a stone.	5 Gli abissi li ricoprirono, sprofondarono come pietra.
6 Your right hand, Yahweh, wins glory by its strength, your right hand, Yahweh, shatters your foes,	6 La tua destra, Signore, è gloriosa per la potenza, la tua destra, Signore, annienta il nemico;
7 and by your great majesty you fell your assailants; you unleash your fury, it consumes them like chaff.	7 con sublime maestà abbatti i tuoi avversari, scateni il tuo furore, che li divora come paglia.
8 A blast from your nostrils and the waters piled high; the waves stood firm as a dyke; the bed of the seabecame firm ground.	8 Al soffio della tua ira si accumularono le acque, si alzarono le onde come un argine, si rappresero gli abissi nel fondo del mare.
9 The enemy said, 'I shal give chase and overtake, 'I shal share out the spoil and glut myself on them, 'Ishall draw my sword, my hand wil destroy them.'	9 Il nemico aveva detto: “Inseguirò, raggiungerò, spartirò il bottino, se ne sazierà la mia brama; sfodererò la spada, li conquisterà la mia mano!”.
10 You blew with your breath, the sea closed over them; they sank like lead in the terrible waters.	10 Soffiasti con il tuo alito: li ricoprì il mare, sprofondarono come piombo in acque profonde.
11 Yahweh, who is like you, majestic in sanctity, who like you among the holy ones, fearsome of deed,worker of wonders?	11 Chi è come te fra gli dèi, Signore? Chi è come te, maestoso in santità, terribile nelle imprese, autore di prodigi?
12 You stretched your right hand out, the earth swallowed them!	12 Stendesti la destra: li inghiottì la terra.
13 In your faithful love you led out the people you had redeemed, in your strength you have guided themto your holy dwel ing.	13 Guidasti con il tuo amore questo popolo che hai riscattato, lo conducesti con la tua potenza alla tua santa dimora.
14 Hearing of this, the peoples tremble; pangs seize on the people of Philistia;	14 Udirono i popoli: sono atterriti. L’angoscia afferrò gli abitanti della Filistea.
15 the chieftains of Edom are dismayed, Moab's princes -- panic has seized them, all the inhabitants ofCanaan have melted away.	15 Allora si sono spaventati i capi di Edom, il pànico prende i potenti di Moab; hanno tremato tutti gli abitanti di Canaan.
16 On them fall terror and dread; through the power of your arm they are stil as stone while your peopleare passing, Yahweh, while the people you have purchased are passing.	16 Piómbino su di loro paura e terrore; per la potenza del tuo braccio restino muti come pietra, finché sia passato il tuo popolo, Signore, finché sia passato questo tuo popolo, che ti sei acquistato.
17 You wil bring them in and plant them on the mountain which is your heritage, the place which you,Yahweh, have made your dwel ing, the sanctuary, Yahweh, prepared by your own hands.	17 Tu lo fai entrare e lo pianti sul monte della tua eredità, luogo che per tua dimora, Signore, hai preparato, santuario che le tue mani, Signore, hanno fondato.
18 Yahweh will be king for ever and ever.	18 Il Signore regni in eterno e per sempre!».
19 For when Pharaoh's cavalry, with his chariots and horsemen, had gone into the sea, Yahweh broughtthe waters of the sea back over them, though the Israelites went on dry ground right through the sea.	19 Quando i cavalli del faraone, i suoi carri e i suoi cavalieri furono entrati nel mare, il Signore fece tornare sopra di essi le acque del mare, mentre gli Israeliti avevano camminato sull’asciutto in mezzo al mare.
20 The prophetess Miriam, Aaron's sister, took up a tambourine, and all the women fol owed her withtambourines, dancing,	20 Allora Maria, la profetessa, sorella di Aronne, prese in mano un tamburello: dietro a lei uscirono le donne con i tamburelli e con danze.
21 while Miriam took up from them the refrain: Sing to Yahweh, for he has covered himself in glory,horse and rider he has thrown into the sea.	21 Maria intonò per loro il ritornello: «Cantate al Signore, perché ha mirabilmente trionfato: cavallo e cavaliere ha gettato nel mare!».
22 Moses led Israel away from the Sea of Reeds, and they entered the desert of Shur. They thentravel ed through the desert for three days without finding water.	22 Mosè fece partire Israele dal Mar Rosso ed essi avanzarono verso il deserto di Sur. Camminarono tre giorni nel deserto senza trovare acqua.
23 When they reached Marah, they could not drink the Marah water because it was bitter; this is why theplace was named Marah.	23 Arrivarono a Mara, ma non potevano bere le acque di Mara, perché erano amare. Per questo furono chiamate Mara.
24 The people complained to Moses saying, 'What are we to drink?'	24 Allora il popolo mormorò contro Mosè: «Che cosa berremo?».
25 Moses appealed to Yahweh for help, and Yahweh showed him a piece of wood. When Moses threwit into the water, the water became sweet. There he laid down a statute and law for them and there he put themto the test. Then he said,	25 Egli invocò il Signore, il quale gli indicò un legno. Lo gettò nell’acqua e l’acqua divenne dolce. In quel luogo il Signore impose al popolo una legge e un diritto; in quel luogo lo mise alla prova.
26 'If you listen careful y to the voice of Yahweh your God and do what he regards as right, if you payattention to his commandments and keep al his laws, I shal never inflict on you any of the diseases that Iinflicted on the Egyptians, for I am Yahweh your Healer.'	26 Disse: «Se tu darai ascolto alla voce del Signore, tuo Dio, e farai ciò che è retto ai suoi occhi, se tu presterai orecchio ai suoi ordini e osserverai tutte le sue leggi, io non t’infliggerò nessuna delle infermità che ho inflitto agli Egiziani, perché io sono il Signore, colui che ti guarisce!».
27 So they came to Elim where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees; and there theypitched camp beside the water.	27 Poi arrivarono a Elìm, dove sono dodici sorgenti di acqua e settanta palme. Qui si accamparono presso l’acqua.
