1 Thus, al Israel's official genealogies had been entered in the records of the kings of Israel and Judahbefore they were deported to Babylon for their infidelity.	1 COSÌ tutti gl’Israeliti furono annoverati per le lor generazioni; ed ecco, sono descritti nel libro dei re d’Israele. 2 Now the first citizens to return to their property in their cities were the Israelites, the priests, the Levitesand the temple slaves.	2 e che i primieri abitatori, ch’erano altre volte dimorati nelle lor possessioni, furono ritornati nelle lor città: Israeliti, sacerdoti, Leviti, e Netinei;
3 In Jerusalem, there settled Judaeans, Benjaminites, Ephraimites and Manassehites.	3 in Gerusalemme abitarono dei figliuoli di Giuda, e de’ figliuoli di Beniamino, e de’ figliuoli di Efraim e di Manasse:
4 Uthai son of Ammihud, son of Omri, son of Imri, son of Bani, one of the sons of Perez son of Judah.	4 Utai, figliuolo di Ammihud, figliuolo di Omri, figliuolo d’Imri, figliuolo di Bani, de’ figliuoli di Fares, figliuolo di Giuda.

20 Formerly, Phinehas son of Eleazar had been in charge of them -- Yahweh be with him!	20 e Finees, figliuolo di Eleazaro, col quale il Signore era, anticamente era stato conduttore sopra loro;

26 since the four head gatekeepers were permanently on duty. They were Levites and were in charge ofthe accommodation and supplies of the Temple of God.	26 Perciocchè quei quattro maggiori portinai Leviti erano del continuo in ufficio, ed aveano la cura delle camere, e tesori della Casa di Dio.
27 They spent the night in the precincts of the Temple of God, their duties being to guard it and open itevery morning.	27 E giacevano la notte intorno alla Casa di Dio; perciocchè la guardia ne era loro imposta, ed aveano il carico di aprirla ogni mattina.
28 Some of them were in charge of the implements of worship, having to count them when they tookthem out and when they put them away.	28 Ed alcuni di loro aveano la cura dei vasellamenti del servigio; perciocchè si portavano dentro a conto, e si traevano altresì fuori a conto.
29 Others of them were put in charge of the implements, of al the objects in the sanctuary and of theflour, the wine, the oil, the incense and the perfume.	29 Ed altri di loro erano costituiti sopra le altre masserizie, e sopra tutti gli arredi sacri, e sopra il fior della farina, e sopra il vino, e sopra l’olio, e sopra l’incenso, e sopra gli aromati.
30 Members of the priestly caste, however, mixed the ointment for the perfume.	30 Ma quelli che componevano il profumo degli aromati, erano de’ figliuoli de’ sacerdoti.
31 One of the Levites, Mattithiah -- he was the first-born of Shal um the Korahite -- had regular charge ofbaking operations.	31 E d’infra i Leviti, Mattitia, primogenito di Sallum, Corita, avea il carico di ciò che si coceva in su la tegghia.
32 Some of their kinsmen the Kohathites were responsible for the loaves to be set out in rows Sabbathby Sabbath.	32 E d’infra i lor fratelli, figliuoli de’ Chehatiti, alcuni aveano la cura de’ pani disposti per ordine, per apparecchiarli ogni sabato.
33 In addition, there were the singers, the heads of the levitical families, who were accommodated in theTemple, free of other responsibilities because they were on duty day and night.	33 Altri eziandio erano cantori, capi di famiglie paterne de’ Leviti, i quali stavano nelle camere, esenti d’altra cura; perciocchè l’ufficio loro richiedeva che fossero giorno e notte in opera.
34 Such were the chiefs of the levitical families, according to their relationship; these lived in Jerusalem.	34 Questi furono i capi delle famiglie paterne dei Leviti, capi delle lor generazioni. Essi abitarono in Gerusalemme
35 Jeiel father of Gibeon lived at Gibeon and his wife was cal ed Maacah.	35 Or in Gabaon abitò Ieiel, padre di Gabaon; ed il nome della sua moglie era Maaca.
36 His first-born son was Abdon, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,	36 E il suo figliuolo primogenito fu Abdon; poi ebbe Sur, e Chis,
