NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 David then summoned to Jerusalem al the officials of Israel -- the tribal chiefs, the senior officials inthe royal service, the commanders of the thousands, the commanders of the hundreds and the overseers of althe property and livestock belonging to the king and to his sons -- including the court officials, the champions andal the men of standing.	1 Davide convocò a Gerusalemme tutti i capi d'Israele, i capi delle tribù, i capi delle varie classi che erano al servizio del re, i capi delle migliaia e delle centinaia, gli incaricati di tutti i beni e di tutto il bestiame appartenente al re ed ai suoi figli, insieme agli eunuchi, ai prodi e a tutti i valorosi guerrieri.
2 King David then rose to his feet and said: 'My brothers and my people, listen to me. I have set myheart on building a settled home for the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, for the footstool for our God, but when Iwas ready to build it,	2 Davide si alzò in piedi e disse: "Ascoltatemi, miei fratelli e mio popolo! Io stesso avevo in mente di costruire una dimora di riposo per l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore, sgabello dei piedi del nostro Dio. Avevo già fatto i preparativi per la costruzione,
3 God said to me, "You must not build a house for my name, for you have been a man of war and haveshed blood."	3 ma Dio mi disse: "Non costruirai un tempio al mio nome, perché tu sei un guerriero e versasti sangue".
4 'Even so, out of my entire family, it was I whom Yahweh, God of Israel, chose to reign over Israel forever. Having chosen Judah as leader, and my family out of the House of Judah, it pleased him out of al myfather's sons to make me king of all Israel.	4 Il Signore, Dio d'Israele, scelse me fra tutta la famiglia di mio padre, perché diventassi re su Israele per sempre; difatti egli si è scelto un principe in Giuda e nella casa di Giuda ha scelto il casato di mio padre e nel casato di mio padre ha posto la sua compiacenza in me, per costituirmi re su tutto Israele.
5 Out of al my sons -- for Yahweh has given me many -- he has chosen my son Solomon to sit onYahweh's sovereign throne over Israel.	5 Fra tutti i miei figli, poiché il Signore mi concesse numerosi figli, scelse mio figlio Salomone, perché sedesse sul trono del regno del Signore sopra Israele.
6 Furthermore, he has told me, "Solomon your son is the man to build my house and my courts, for Ihave chosen him to be my son and I shal be his father.	6 Egli infatti mi disse: "Salomone tuo figlio costruirà il mio tempio e i miei cortili, perché mi sono scelto lui come figlio e io sarò per lui come un padre.
7 I shal make his sovereignty secure for ever if he sturdily carries out my commandments andordinances as he does now."	7 Renderò saldo il suo regno per sempre, se persevererà nell'osservanza dei miei comandamenti e dei miei precetti, come fa oggi".
8 'So now in the sight of al Israel, the assembly of Yahweh, and in the hearing of our God, I charge youto observe and adhere strictly to al the commandments of Yahweh your God, so that you may retain possessionof this fine country and leave it to your sons after you as a heritage for ever.	8 Ora, al cospetto di tutto Israele, assemblea del Signore, e in presenza del nostro Dio vi esorto: osservate e praticate tutti i precetti del Signore, vostro Dio, perché possiate conservare il possesso di questo eccellente paese e passarlo in eredità ai vostri figli dopo di voi, per sempre.
9 'And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with an undivided heart andwil ing mind; for Yahweh scrutinises al hearts and understands whatever plans they may devise. If you seekhim, he will let you find him; but forsake him and he wil cast you off for ever.	9 Tu, figlio mio Salomone, riconosci il Dio di tuo padre, servilo con cuore perfetto e con animo volonteroso, perché il Signore scruta tutti i cuori e penetra i pensieri più intimi; se tu lo ricercherai, si farà trovare; se lo abbandonerai, ti rigetterà per sempre.
10 So, since Yahweh has chosen you to build a house for his sanctuary, go resolutely to work!'	10 Ora considera che il Signore ti ha scelto per costruirgli un tempio come santuario; sii forte e mettiti all'opera!".
11 David then gave his son Solomon the plans for the portico, the plans for the buildings, itsstorehouses, its upper rooms, its inner rooms and the room for the throne of mercy	11 Davide consegnò a Salomone, suo figlio, il progetto del vestibolo, dei suoi edifici, dei magazzini, delle stanze superiori, delle camere interne e del luogo per il propiziatorio,
12 as wel as the plans for everything that he had in mind: for the courts of the house of Yahweh, for althe surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of the house of God and for the sacred treasuries,	12 in più il progetto di tutto ciò che aveva in mente di fare riguardo ai cortili del tempio del Signore e di tutte le stanze laterali, ai tesori del tempio di Dio e ai tesori delle cose sacre,
13 for the orders of priests and Levites, for all the duties to be carried out in the service of the house ofYahweh, and for al the liturgical objects to be used in the house of Yahweh;	13 alle classi dei sacerdoti e dei leviti, a tutto il lavoro relativo al servizio del tempio del Signore e a tutti gli utensili che servivano per il tempio del Signore.
14 for the gold bul ion, for all the golden liturgical objects of various uses; for the silver bul ion, for al thesilver liturgical objects of various uses;	14 Davide consegnò l'oro indicandone il peso, per tutti gli oggetti destinati ai singoli usi, e l'argento indicandone il peso, per tutti gli oggetti d'argento, secondo il particolare impiego,
15 for the gold bul ion for the golden lamp-stands and for their lamps, and for the silver bullion for thesilver lamp-stands and their lights, depending on the function of each lamp-stand;	15 i candelabri d'oro e le loro lampade dorate secondo il peso di ciascun candelabro e delle sue lampade, i candelabri d'argento secondo il peso del candelabro e delle sue lampade, secondo l'uso di ogni candelabro.
16 for the gold bul ion for each of the tables for the loaves of permanent offering and the silver for thesilver tables;	16 Gli indicò il quantitativo dell'oro per le tavole dell'offerta, per ogni tavola, e dell'argento per le tavole d'argento,
17 for the pure gold for the forks, the bowls and the jars, for the gold bul ion for each of the goldenbasins and for the silver bul ion for each of the silver basins;	17 oro puro per i forchettoni, le bacinelle e le brocche, le coppe d'oro con il peso di ogni coppa e le coppe d'argento con il peso di ciascuna coppa.
18 and for the refined gold bul ion for the altar of incense; also for the gold for the model of the chariotand of the great winged creatures which cover the ark of the covenant of Yahweh with wings outspread-	18 Gli diede oro per l'altare dei profumi indicandone il peso, il modello del carro in oro dei cherubini che spiegavano le loro ali e proteggevano l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore.
19 al this was in the document conveying Yahweh's instructions, by which he revealed the pattern ofwhat was to be done.	19 Tutto ciò gli diede per iscritto da parte del Signore, per fargli comprendere tutti i dettagli del modello.
20 David then said to his son Solomon, 'Be resolute and courageous in your work, do not be afraid ordisheartened, because Yahweh God, my God, is with you. He wil not fail you or forsake you before you havefinished al the work to be done for the house of Yahweh.	20 Davide disse a Salomone, figlio suo: "Sii forte, fatti coraggio, mettiti all'opera, non temere, non abbatterti, perché il Signore Dio, il mio Dio, è con te. Egli non ti lascerà e non ti abbandonerà, finché non avrai terminato tutto il lavoro al servizio del tempio del Signore.
21 And besides, there are the orders of priests and Levites for whatever is needed in connection withthe house of God, and you have at your disposal every kind of craftsman for whatever has to be done, as well asthe officials and al the people entirely at your command.'	21 Ecco le classi dei sacerdoti e dei leviti per ogni servizio del tempio di Dio. Sono a tua disposizione per ogni lavoro, esperti in ogni attività; i capi e tutto il popolo sono ai tuoi ordini".
