1 Chronicles 28

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 David then summoned to Jerusalem al the officials of Israel -- the tribal chiefs, the senior officials inthe royal service, the commanders of the thousands, the commanders of the hundreds and the overseers of althe property and livestock belonging to the king and to his sons -- including the court officials, the champions andal the men of standing.	1 David réunit à Jérusalem tous les officiers d'Israël, officiers des tribus et officiers des classesau service du roi, officiers de milliers et de centaines, officiers chargés de tous les biens et des troupeaux du roiet de ses fils, ainsi que les eunuques et les preux, tous les preux vaillants.
2 King David then rose to his feet and said: 'My brothers and my people, listen to me. I have set myheart on building a settled home for the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, for the footstool for our God, but when Iwas ready to build it,	2 Le roi David se leva et, debout, déclara: "Ecoutez-moi, mes frères et mon peuple. J'ai désiré,moi, édifier une demeure stable pour l'arche de l'alliance de Yahvé, pour le piédestal de notre Dieu. J'ai fait lespréparatifs de construction
3 God said to me, "You must not build a house for my name, for you have been a man of war and haveshed blood."	3 mais Dieu m'a dit: Ne bâtis pas de maison à mon nom, car tu as été un homme de guerre et tuas versé le sang.
4 'Even so, out of my entire family, it was I whom Yahweh, God of Israel, chose to reign over Israel forever. Having chosen Judah as leader, and my family out of the House of Judah, it pleased him out of al myfather's sons to make me king of all Israel.	4 De toute la maison de mon père, c'est moi que Yahvé, le Dieu d'Israël, a choisi pour être àjamais roi sur Israël. C'est en effet Juda qu'il a choisi pour guide, c'est ma famille qu'il a choisie dans la maisonde Juda, et parmi les fils de mon père, c'est en moi qu'il s'est complu à donner un roi à tout Israël.
5 Out of al my sons -- for Yahweh has given me many -- he has chosen my son Solomon to sit onYahweh's sovereign throne over Israel.	5 De tous mes fils -- car Yahvé m'en a donné beaucoup -- c'est mon fils Salomon qu'il a choisipour siéger sur le trône de la royauté de Yahvé sur Israël:
6 Furthermore, he has told me, "Solomon your son is the man to build my house and my courts, for Ihave chosen him to be my son and I shal be his father.	6 C'est ton fils Salomon, m'a-t-il dit, qui bâtira ma Maison et mes parvis, car c'est lui que j'aichoisi pour fils et je serai pour lui un père.
7 I shal make his sovereignty secure for ever if he sturdily carries out my commandments andordinances as he does now."	7 Je lui ai préparé une royauté éternelle s'il pratique avec courage, comme aujourd'hui, mescommandements et mes lois."
8 'So now in the sight of al Israel, the assembly of Yahweh, and in the hearing of our God, I charge youto observe and adhere strictly to al the commandments of Yahweh your God, so that you may retain possessionof this fine country and leave it to your sons after you as a heritage for ever.	8 Et maintenant, devant tout Israël qui nous voit, devant l'assemblée de Yahvé, devant notreDieu qui nous entend, gardez, scrutez les commandements de Yahvé votre Dieu, afin de posséder ce bon pays etde le transmettre après vous pour toujours en héritage à vos fils.
9 'And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with an undivided heart andwil ing mind; for Yahweh scrutinises al hearts and understands whatever plans they may devise. If you seekhim, he will let you find him; but forsake him and he wil cast you off for ever.	9 Toi, Salomon mon fils, connais le Dieu de ton père, sers-le d'un coeur sans partage, d'uneâme bien disposée, car Yahvé sonde tous les coeurs et pénètre tous les desseins qu'ils forgent. Si tu le recherches,il se fera trouver de toi, si tu le délaisses, il te rejettera pour toujours.
10 So, since Yahweh has chosen you to build a house for his sanctuary, go resolutely to work!'	10 Considère maintenant que Yahvé t'a choisi pour lui bâtir une maison pour sanctuaire. Soisferme et agis!"
11 David then gave his son Solomon the plans for the portico, the plans for the buildings, itsstorehouses, its upper rooms, its inner rooms and the room for the throne of mercy	11 David donna à son fils Salomon le modèle du vestibule, des bâtiments, des magasins, deschambres hautes, des pièces de fond à l'intérieur, de la salle du propitiatoire;
12 as wel as the plans for everything that he had in mind: for the courts of the house of Yahweh, for althe surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of the house of God and for the sacred treasuries,	12 il lui donna aussi la description de tout ce qu'il concevait concernant les parvis du Templede Yahvé, les pièces du pourtour, les trésors du Temple de Dieu et les saintes réserves,
13 for the orders of priests and Levites, for all the duties to be carried out in the service of the house ofYahweh, and for al the liturgical objects to be used in the house of Yahweh;	13 les classes de prêtres et de lévites, toutes les charges du service du Temple de Yahvé, tout lemobilier pour le service du Temple de Yahvé,
14 for the gold bul ion, for all the golden liturgical objects of various uses; for the silver bul ion, for al thesilver liturgical objects of various uses;	14 l'or en lingots, l'or destiné à chacun des objets de tel ou tel service, l'argent en lingotsdestiné à tous les objets d'argent, pour chacun des objets de tel ou tel service,
15 for the gold bul ion for the golden lamp-stands and for their lamps, and for the silver bullion for thesilver lamp-stands and their lights, depending on the function of each lamp-stand;	15 les lingots destinés aux chandeliers d'or et à leurs lampes, l'or en lingots destiné à chaquechandelier et à ses lampes, les lingots destinés aux chandeliers d'argent, pour le chandelier et ses lampes suivantl'usage de chaque chandelier,
16 for the gold bul ion for each of the tables for the loaves of permanent offering and the silver for thesilver tables;	16 l'or en lingots destiné aux tables des rangées de pain, pour chacune des tables, l'argentdestiné aux tables d'argent,
17 for the pure gold for the forks, the bowls and the jars, for the gold bul ion for each of the goldenbasins and for the silver bul ion for each of the silver basins;	17 les fourchettes, les coupes d'aspersion, les aiguières en or pur, les lingots d'or pour lescoupes, pour chacune des coupes, les lingots d'argent pour les coupes, pour chacune des coupes,
18 and for the refined gold bul ion for the altar of incense; also for the gold for the model of the chariotand of the great winged creatures which cover the ark of the covenant of Yahweh with wings outspread-	18 les lingots d'or épuré destinés à l'autel des parfums. Il lui donna le modèle du char divin, deschérubins d'or aux ailes déployées couvrant l'arche de l'alliance de Yahvé,
19 al this was in the document conveying Yahweh's instructions, by which he revealed the pattern ofwhat was to be done.	19 l'ensemble selon ce que Yahvé avait écrit de sa main pour faire comprendre tout le travaildont il donnait le modèle.
20 David then said to his son Solomon, 'Be resolute and courageous in your work, do not be afraid ordisheartened, because Yahweh God, my God, is with you. He wil not fail you or forsake you before you havefinished al the work to be done for the house of Yahweh.	20 David dit alors à son fils Salomon: "Sois ferme et courageux, agis sans crainte nitremblement, car Yahvé Dieu, mon Dieu, est avec toi. Il ne te laissera pas sans force et sans soutien avant que tun'aies achevé tout le travail à accomplir pour la Maison de Yahvé.
21 And besides, there are the orders of priests and Levites for whatever is needed in connection withthe house of God, and you have at your disposal every kind of craftsman for whatever has to be done, as well asthe officials and al the people entirely at your command.'	21 Voici les classes des prêtres et des lévites pour tout le service de la maison de Dieu, chaquevolontaire habile en n'importe quel travail te secondera dans toute cette oeuvre; les officiers et tout le peuple sontà tes ordres."
