1 David then summoned to Jerusalem al the officials of Israel -- the tribal chiefs, the senior officials inthe royal service, the commanders of the thousands, the commanders of the hundreds and the overseers of althe property and livestock belonging to the king and to his sons -- including the court officials, the champions andal the men of standing.	1 - Davide convocò a Gerusalemme tutti i capi d'Israele, i principi delle tribù e i capi delle divisioni che servivano al re; e anche i tribuni e i centurioni e quelli che erano stati preposti ai beni e ai possedimenti del re, i figli suoi cogli eunuchi, coi potenti e con tutti i più valenti uomini dell'esercito.
2 King David then rose to his feet and said: 'My brothers and my people, listen to me. I have set myheart on building a settled home for the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, for the footstool for our God, but when Iwas ready to build it,	2 Levatosi quindi il re e tenendosi in piedi, disse: «Ascoltatemi, fratelli miei e popolo mio: io pensai di edificare una casa dove collocare l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore e lo sgabello dei piedi del Dio nostro e ho preparato tutto quel che occorre per la costruzione.
3 God said to me, "You must not build a house for my name, for you have been a man of war and haveshed blood."	3 Ma il Signore mi disse: - Tu non edificherai la casa al mio nome, poichè sei uomo di guerra e hai versato sangue. -
4 'Even so, out of my entire family, it was I whom Yahweh, God of Israel, chose to reign over Israel forever. Having chosen Judah as leader, and my family out of the House of Judah, it pleased him out of al myfather's sons to make me king of all Israel.	4 Il Signore Dio d'Israele ha tuttavia eletto me fra tutta la casa del padre mio per essere re sopra Israele in sempiterno, poichè da Giuda egli ha eletto i capi; dalla casa di Giuda ha scelto la casa del padre mio, e tra tutti i figli del padre mio gli piacque eleggere me per essere re sopra tutto Israele.
5 Out of al my sons -- for Yahweh has given me many -- he has chosen my son Solomon to sit onYahweh's sovereign throne over Israel.	5 Ma anche tra i figli miei (poichè il Signore diede a me molti figli) ha scelto Salomone mio figlio per assidersi sul trono del regno del Signore sopra Israele.
6 Furthermore, he has told me, "Solomon your son is the man to build my house and my courts, for Ihave chosen him to be my son and I shal be his father.	6 Ed egli mi ha detto: - Salomone tuo figlio edificherà la mia casa e i miei atrii, perchè io me lo sono eletto in figlio, e io sarò per lui un padre,
7 I shal make his sovereignty secure for ever if he sturdily carries out my commandments andordinances as he does now."	7 e confermerò il suo regno per sempre, se persevererà ad osservare i miei precetti e le mie leggi come fa oggi. -
8 'So now in the sight of al Israel, the assembly of Yahweh, and in the hearing of our God, I charge youto observe and adhere strictly to al the commandments of Yahweh your God, so that you may retain possessionof this fine country and leave it to your sons after you as a heritage for ever.	8 Ora adunque al cospetto di tutto Israele, mentre Dio ci ascolta, custodite e prendetevi a cuore tutti i comandi del Signore Dio nostro, affinchè possediate la terra buona e la lasciate in eredità ai figli vostri, dopo di voi, fino all'eternità.
9 'And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with an undivided heart andwil ing mind; for Yahweh scrutinises al hearts and understands whatever plans they may devise. If you seekhim, he will let you find him; but forsake him and he wil cast you off for ever.	9 Tu poi, o figliuolo mio Salomone, conosci il Dio di tuo padre e servilo con cuore perfetto e con animo volenteroso, poichè il Signore scruta tutti i cuori e conosce tutti i pensieri delle nostre menti. Se lo cercherai, lo troverai, ma se tu lo abbandonerai, egli ti rigetterà per sempre.
10 So, since Yahweh has chosen you to build a house for his sanctuary, go resolutely to work!'	10 Ora adunque che il Signore ti ha eletto per edificare la casa del santuario, fatti animo e mettiti all'opera».
11 David then gave his son Solomon the plans for the portico, the plans for the buildings, itsstorehouses, its upper rooms, its inner rooms and the room for the throne of mercy	11 Davide diede a Salomone suo figlio il disegno del portico, del tempio, delle tesorerie, delle camere superiori, delle camere interne e della casa della propiziazione.
12 as wel as the plans for everything that he had in mind: for the courts of the house of Yahweh, for althe surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of the house of God and for the sacred treasuries,	12 Inoltre [il disegno] di tutto ciò ch'egli aveva pensato relativamente agli atrii e a tutte le stanze in giro pei tesori della casa del Signore e per i tesori delle cose sante,
13 for the orders of priests and Levites, for all the duties to be carried out in the service of the house ofYahweh, and for al the liturgical objects to be used in the house of Yahweh;	13 e intorno alle classi dei sacerdoti e dei leviti e intorno a tutto ciò che riguardava il servizio della casa del Signore e tutti gli utensili per il servizio del tempio del Signore.
14 for the gold bul ion, for all the golden liturgical objects of various uses; for the silver bul ion, for al thesilver liturgical objects of various uses;	14 Gli consegnò l'oro secondo il peso da dare ai singoli oggetti per il servizio, e il peso dell'argento per gli oggetti e per i vari utensili.
15 for the gold bul ion for the golden lamp-stands and for their lamps, and for the silver bullion for thesilver lamp-stands and their lights, depending on the function of each lamp-stand;	15 Parimenti gli diede l'oro per i candelabri d'oro e per le loro lucerne, secondo la misura di ciascun candelabro e di ciascuna lucerna; come pure il peso dell'argento per i candelabri d'argento e per le loro lucerne secondo le varie misure.
16 for the gold bul ion for each of the tables for the loaves of permanent offering and the silver for thesilver tables;	16 Gli diede altresì l'oro per le tavole della proposizione, secondo le varie misure, come pure l'argento per le altre tavole d'argento.
17 for the pure gold for the forks, the bowls and the jars, for the gold bul ion for each of the goldenbasins and for the silver bul ion for each of the silver basins;	17 Similmente per le forchette, per le tazze, per i turiboli di oro purissimo, per i leoncini d'oro, distribuì il peso secondo le varie misure per ciascuno; anche per i leoncini d'argento separò il peso d'argento conveniente.
18 and for the refined gold bul ion for the altar of incense; also for the gold for the model of the chariotand of the great winged creatures which cover the ark of the covenant of Yahweh with wings outspread-	18 Per l'altare poi, sul quale è bruciato l'incenso, fornì oro purissimo, come pure per fare le figure della quadriga dei cherubini, che stendono le ali e che cuoprono l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore.
19 al this was in the document conveying Yahweh's instructions, by which he revealed the pattern ofwhat was to be done.	19 «Tutto ciò» egli disse «è stato scritto a me dalla mano del Signore, affinchè avessi a conoscere il modello di tutte le opere da farsi».
20 David then said to his son Solomon, 'Be resolute and courageous in your work, do not be afraid ordisheartened, because Yahweh God, my God, is with you. He wil not fail you or forsake you before you havefinished al the work to be done for the house of Yahweh.	20 Disse ancora Davide a Salomone suo figlio: «Fatti animo, prendi coraggio e poni mano all'opera; non temere e non ti spaventare, poichè il Signore Dio mio sarà con te, nè ti abbandonerà e non ti lascerà, finchè abbia condotto a termine ogni opera per il servizio della casa del Signore.
21 And besides, there are the orders of priests and Levites for whatever is needed in connection withthe house of God, and you have at your disposal every kind of craftsman for whatever has to be done, as well asthe officials and al the people entirely at your command.'	21 Ecco, le classi dei sacerdoti e dei leviti ti assistono per ogni servizio della casa del Signore, e tanto i principi quanto il popolo sono dinanzi a te; essi son pronti e sanno eseguire tutti i tuoi comandi».
