1 David then summoned to Jerusalem al the officials of Israel -- the tribal chiefs, the senior officials inthe royal service, the commanders of the thousands, the commanders of the hundreds and the overseers of althe property and livestock belonging to the king and to his sons -- including the court officials, the champions andal the men of standing.	1 Convocò adunque Davidde a Gerusalemme tutti i principi d'Israele, e i capi delle tribù, e i capitani delle bande, che servivano il re, e i tribuni, e i centurioni, e quelli, che amministravano i beni, e le possessioni del re, e i suoi figliuoli coi contigiani, e i più possenti, e i più valorosi dell'esercito.
2 King David then rose to his feet and said: 'My brothers and my people, listen to me. I have set myheart on building a settled home for the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, for the footstool for our God, but when Iwas ready to build it,	2 E il re alzatosi, e stando in piedi, disse: Ascoltatemi, fratelli miei, e mio popolo: io ebbi intenzione di edificare una casa, in cui posasse l'arca del testamento del Signore, e lo sgabello de' piedi del nostro Dio, e ho preparate ltutte le cose per la fabbrica.
3 God said to me, "You must not build a house for my name, for you have been a man of war and haveshed blood."	3 Ma Dio mi ha detto: Non edificherai tu una casa al nome mio, perchè se' uomo di battaglie, e hai sparso del sangue.
4 'Even so, out of my entire family, it was I whom Yahweh, God of Israel, chose to reign over Israel forever. Having chosen Judah as leader, and my family out of the House of Judah, it pleased him out of al myfather's sons to make me king of all Israel.	4 Ma il Signore Dio d'Israele elesse me di tutta la famiglia del padre mio, perchè io fossi in perpetuo re d'Israele: perocché egli ha scelti i principi da Giuda; e della stirpe di Giuda scelse la casa del padre mio; e de' figliuoli del padre mio piacque a lui di sceglier me per re di tutto Israele.
5 Out of al my sons -- for Yahweh has given me many -- he has chosen my son Solomon to sit onYahweh's sovereign throne over Israel.	5 E de' miei stessi figliuoli (perocché molti figliuoli mi ha dato il Signore) ha scelto Salomone mio figliuolo, perchè segga sul trono del regno del Signore sopra Israele:
6 Furthermore, he has told me, "Solomon your son is the man to build my house and my courts, for Ihave chosen him to be my son and I shal be his father.	6 E ha detto a me: Salomone tuo figliuolo edificherà la mia casa, e i miei atrj: perocché lui ho scelto per mio figliuolo, e io sarogli padre.
7 I shal make his sovereignty secure for ever if he sturdily carries out my commandments andordinances as he does now."	7 E io stabilirò il suo regno fino in eterno, se egli persevererà nell'adempire si miei comandamenti, e le leggi, come fa adesso.
8 'So now in the sight of al Israel, the assembly of Yahweh, and in the hearing of our God, I charge youto observe and adhere strictly to al the commandments of Yahweh your God, so that you may retain possessionof this fine country and leave it to your sons after you as a heritage for ever.	8 Adesso pertanto dinanzi a tutta l'adunanza d'Israele, dinanzi al Dio nostro, che ascolta (io dico): Osservate. Se studiate tutti ì comandamenti del Signore Dio nostro, affinchè abbiate il possesso di questa buona terra, e la lasciate a' vostri figliuoli dopo di voi in eterno.
9 'And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with an undivided heart andwil ing mind; for Yahweh scrutinises al hearts and understands whatever plans they may devise. If you seekhim, he will let you find him; but forsake him and he wil cast you off for ever.	9 Ma tu, figlio mio Salomone, conosci il Dio del padre tuo, e servilo con cuore perfetto, e di buona voglia: perocché il Signore è scrutatore di tutti i cuori, e tutti penetra i pensieri della mente. Se lo cercherai, tu lo troverai: se poi tu lo abbandonassi, egli ti rigetterà in eterno.
10 So, since Yahweh has chosen you to build a house for his sanctuary, go resolutely to work!'	10 Adesso adungue, dacché il Signore ti ha eletto a edificare la casa santa, fatti cuore, e compisci l'opera.
11 David then gave his son Solomon the plans for the portico, the plans for the buildings, itsstorehouses, its upper rooms, its inner rooms and the room for the throne of mercy	11 E David diede a Salomone suo figliuolo il disegno del portico, e del tempio, e delle camere, e dei cenacoli, e delle stanze segrete, e della casa di propiziazione,
12 as wel as the plans for everything that he had in mind: for the courts of the house of Yahweh, for althe surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of the house of God and for the sacred treasuries,	12 E anche di tutti gli atri, che egli aveva ideato, e delle abitazioni all'intorno pei tesori delle casa del Signore, e pei tesori delle cose sante,
13 for the orders of priests and Levites, for all the duties to be carried out in the service of the house ofYahweh, and for al the liturgical objects to be used in the house of Yahweh;	13 E la distribuzione de' sacerdoti, e de' Leviti per tutti gli uffici della casa del Signore, e per tutti i vasi, che dovean servire alla casa del Signore.
14 for the gold bul ion, for all the golden liturgical objects of various uses; for the silver bul ion, for al thesilver liturgical objects of various uses;	14 (Gli diede) l'oro secondo il peso, che aver dovea ciascun de' vasi pel ministero. E l'argento pesato secondo i diversi vasi, e lavori.
15 for the gold bul ion for the golden lamp-stands and for their lamps, and for the silver bullion for thesilver lamp-stands and their lights, depending on the function of each lamp-stand;	15 E pe' candelabri d'oro, e pelle loro lampane diede l'oro, secondo la grandezza di ciascun candelabro, e delle lampane: e similmente l'argento pesato pe' candelabri d'argento, e le loro lampane secondo la varia loro grandezza.
16 for the gold bul ion for each of the tables for the loaves of permanent offering and the silver for thesilver tables;	16 Diede anche l'oro per le mense dei pani di proposizione, secondo la diversità delle mense: e similmente l'argento per altre mense d'argento.
17 for the pure gold for the forks, the bowls and the jars, for the gold bul ion for each of the goldenbasins and for the silver bul ion for each of the silver basins;	17 Similmente per le forchette, e le coppe, e i turiboli d'oro finissimo, e pe lioncini d'oro, secondo le loro grandezze assegnò pesato l'oro per l'uno, e per l'altro lioncino. E alla stessa guisa pei leoni d'argento separò un'altra quantità d'argento pesato.
18 and for the refined gold bul ion for the altar of incense; also for the gold for the model of the chariotand of the great winged creatures which cover the ark of the covenant of Yahweh with wings outspread-	18 E pell'altare, su di cui si brucia l'incenso, diede oro finissimo: e per farne la immagine di un cocchio di Cherubini, i quali stendendo le ale velassero l'arca del testamento del Signore.
19 al this was in the document conveying Yahweh's instructions, by which he revealed the pattern ofwhat was to be done.	19 Tutte queste cose, disse egli, sono state mandate a me descritte di mano del Signore, affinchè io comprendessi tutti i lavori di quel modello.
20 David then said to his son Solomon, 'Be resolute and courageous in your work, do not be afraid ordisheartened, because Yahweh God, my God, is with you. He wil not fail you or forsake you before you havefinished al the work to be done for the house of Yahweh.	20 Disse ancora David a Salomone suo figliuolo: Opera virilmente, e fatti animo, e pon mano all'opera: non temere, non ti sbigottire: perocché il Signore Dio mio sarà teco? e non ti lascerà, e non ti abbandonerà, fin a tanto che tu abbi compiuto tutto quel, che deve servire alla casa del Signore.
21 And besides, there are the orders of priests and Levites for whatever is needed in connection withthe house of God, and you have at your disposal every kind of craftsman for whatever has to be done, as well asthe officials and al the people entirely at your command.'	21 Ecco, che tutte le classi dei sacerdoti, e dei Leviti sono a te d'intorno, e sono pronti a fare ogni cosa in servigio della casa del Signore, e tanto i capi, come il popolo sapranno eseguire tutti i tuoi comandi.
