1 Kings 14

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 At that time Abijah, Jeroboam's son, fel sick,	1 في ذلك الزمان مرض ابيا بن يربعام.
2 and Jeroboam said to his wife, 'Come, please disguise yourself so that no one will recognise you asJeroboam's wife, and go to Shiloh; the prophet Ahijah is there, the man who said I was to be king of this people.	2 فقال يربعام لامرأته قومي غيّري شكلك حتى لا يعلموا انك امرأة يربعام واذهبي الى شيلوه. هوذا هناك اخيا النبي الذي قال عني اني املك على هذا الشعب.
3 Go to him, and take ten loaves and some savoury food and a jar of honey; he wil tell you what wilhappen to the child.'	3 وخذي بيدك عشرة ارغفة وكعكا وجرّة عسل وسيري اليه وهو يخبرك ماذا يكون للغلام.
4 Jeroboam's wife did this: she set out, went to Shiloh and came to Ahijah's house.	4 ففعلت امرأة يربعام هكذا وقامت وذهبت الى شيلوه ودخلت بيت اخيا. وكان اخيا لا يقدر ان يبصر لانه قد قامت عيناه بسبب شيخوخته.
5 Now Ahijah could not see, his eyes were fixed with age, but Yahweh had told him, 'Jeroboam's wife isnow on her way to ask you for a prophecy about her son, as he is sick. You wil tel her such and such. Whenshe comes, she wil pretend to be some other woman.'	5 وقال الرب لاخيا هوذا امرأة يربعام آتية لتسأل منك شيئا من جهة ابنها لانه مريض. فقل لها كذا وكذا فانها عند دخولها تتنكر.
6 So when Ahijah heard her footsteps at the door, he cal ed, 'Come in, wife of Jeroboam; why pretend tobe someone else? I have bad news for you.	6 فلما سمع اخيّا حس رجليها وهي داخلة في الباب قال ادخلي يا امرأة يربعام لماذا تتنكرين وانا مرسل اليك بقول قاس.
7 Go and tell Jeroboam, "Yahweh, God of Israel, says this: I raised you from the people and made youleader of my people Israel;	7 اذهبي قولي ليربعام هكذا قال الرب اله اسرائيل. من اجل اني قد رفعتك من وسط الشعب وجعلتك رئيسا على شعبي اسرائيل
8 I tore the kingdom from the House of David and gave it to you. But you have not been like my servantDavid who kept my commandments and followed me with al his heart, doing only what I regard as right;	8 وشققت المملكة من بيت داود واعطيتك اياها ولم تكن كعبدي داود الذي حفظ وصاياي والذي سار ورائي بكل قلبه ليفعل ما هو مستقيم فقط في عينيّ
9 you have done more evil than all your predecessors, you have gone and made yourself other gods,idols of cast metal, provoking my anger, and you have turned your back on me.	9 وقد ساء عملك اكثر من جميع الذين كانوا قبلك فسرت وعملت لنفسك آلهة اخرى ومسبوكات لتغيظني وقد طرحتني وراء ظهرك
10 For this I shal bring disaster on the House of Jeroboam, I shal wipe out every manjack of the familyof Jeroboam, fettered or free in Israel, I shal sweep away the House of Jeroboam as a man sweeps dung awaytill none is left.	10 لذلك هانذا جالب شرا على بيت يربعام واقطع ليربعام كل بائل بحائط محجوزا ومطلقا في اسرائيل. وانزع آخر بيت يربعام كما ينزع البعر حتى يفنى.
11 Those of Jeroboam's family who die in the city, the dogs wil eat; and those who die in the opencountry, the birds of the air wil eat, for Yahweh has spoken."	11 من مات ليربعام في المدينة تاكله الكلاب ومن مات في الحقل تاكله طيور السماء لان الرب تكلم.
12 Now get up and go home; at the moment your feet enter the town, the child will die.	12 وانت فقومي وانطلقي الى بيتك وعند دخول رجليك المدينة يموت الولد.
13 Al Israel wil mourn for him, and bury him; and he alone of Jeroboam's family will have a properburial, for in him alone of the House of Jeroboam can Yahweh, God of Israel, find anything good.	13 ويندبه جميع اسرائيل ويدفنونه لان هذا وحده من يربعام يدخل القبر لانه وجد فيه امر صالح نحو الرب اله اسرائيل في بيت يربعام.
14 Yahweh wil set a king over Israel, who will put an end to the House of Jeroboam.	14 ويقيم الرب لنفسه ملكا على اسرائيل يقرض بيت يربعام هذا اليوم. وماذا. الآن ايضا.
15 Yahweh wil make Israel shake, til it quivers like a reed in the water; he will uproot Israel from thisprosperous land which he gave to their ancestors and scatter them beyond the River for provoking Yahweh toanger by making their sacred poles.	15 ويضرب الرب اسرائيل كاهتزاز القصب في الماء ويستأصل اسرائيل عن هذه الارض الصالحة التي اعطاها لابائهم ويبدّدهم الى عبر النهر لانهم عملوا سواريهم واغاظوا الرب.
16 He wil abandon Israel for the sins which Jeroboam has committed and made Israel commit.'	16 ويدفع اسرائيل من اجل خطايا يربعام الذي اخطأ وجعل اسرائيل يخطئ
17 Jeroboam's wife rose and left. She arrived at Tirzah, and when she crossed the threshold of thepalace, the child was already dead.	17 فقامت امرأة يربعام وذهبت وجاءت الى ترصة ولما وصلت الى عتبة الباب مات الغلام.
18 They buried him, and al Israel mourned for him, just as Yahweh had foretold through his servantAhijah the prophet.	18 فدفنه وندبه جميع اسرائيل حسب كلام الرب الذي تكلم به عن يد عبده اخيّا النبي.
19 The rest of the history of Jeroboam, what wars he waged, how he governed, this is recorded in theBook of the Annals of the Kings of Israel.	19 واما بقية أمور يربعام كيف حارب وكيف ملك فانها مكتوبة في سفر اخبار الايام لملوك اسرائيل.
20 Jeroboam's reign lasted twenty-two years. Then he fel asleep with his ancestors; his son Nadabsucceeded him.	20 والزمان الذي ملك فيه يربعام هو اثنتان وعشرون سنة ثم اضطجع مع آبائه وملك ناداب ابنه عوضا عنه
21 In Judah, Rehoboam son of Solomon became king; he was forty-one years old when he came to thethrone and he reigned for seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which Yahweh had chosen out of al the tribesof Israel, to give his name a home there. His mother's name was Naamah, the Ammonite.	21 واما رحبعام بن سليمان فملك في يهوذا. وكان رحبعام ابن احدى واربعين سنة حين ملك وملك سبع عشرة سنة في اورشليم المدينة التي اختارها الرب لوضع اسمه فيها من جميع اسباط اسرائيل. واسم امه نعمة العمونية.
22 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, arousing his resentment more than his ancestors by al the sinswhich they had committed;	22 وعمل يهوذا الشر في عيني الرب واغاروه اكثر من جميع ما عمل آباؤهم بخطاياهم التي اخطأوا بها.
23 they had built themselves high places, and had set up pil ars and sacred poles on every high hil andunder every spreading tree.	23 وبنوا هم ايضا لانفسهم مرتفعات وانصابا وسواري على كل تل مرتفع وتحت كل شجرة خضراء.
24 There were even male sacred prostitutes in the country. He copied all the shameful practices of thenations whom Yahweh had dispossessed for the Israelites.	24 وكان ايضا مأبونون في الارض. فعلوا حسب كل ارجاس الامم الذين طردهم الرب من امام بني اسرائيل
25 And so it happened that in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak king of Egypt advanced onJerusalem	25 وفي السنة الخامسة للملك رحبعام صعد شيشق ملك مصر الى اورشليم
26 and carried off all the treasures of the Temple of Yahweh and the treasures of the royal palace; hetook everything away, including al the golden shields which Solomon had made.	26 واخذ خزائن بيت الرب وخزائن بيت الملك واخذ كل شيء واخذ جميع اتراس الذهب التي عملها سليمان.
27 To replace those King Rehoboam made bronze shields, entrusting them to the commanders of theguard who guarded the king's palace gate.	27 فعمل الملك رحبعام عوضا عنها اتراس نحاس وسلمها ليد رؤساء السعاة الحافظين باب بيت الملك.
28 Whenever the king went to the Temple of Yahweh, the guards would carry them, returning them to theguardroom afterwards.	28 وكان اذا دخل الملك بيت الرب يحملها السعاة ثم يرجعونها الى غرفة السعاة.
29 The rest of the history of Rehoboam, his entire career, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annalsof the Kings of Judah?	29 وبقية امور رحبعام وكل ما فعل اما هي مكتوبة في سفر اخبار الايام لملوك يهوذا.
30 Warfare between Rehoboam and Jeroboam went on throughout the period.	30 وكانت حرب بين رحبعام ويربعام كل الايام.
31 When Rehoboam fel asleep with his ancestors, he was buried in the City of David; his son Abijamsucceeded him.	31 ثم اضطجع رحبعام مع آبائه ودفن مع آبائه في مدينة داود. واسم امه نعمة العمونية. وملك ابيام ابنه عوضا عنه
