Genesis 6

NEW JERUSALEM	Біблія
1 When people began being numerous on earth, and daughters had been born to them,	1 І сталось, як почали люди множитися на землі та народилися в них дочки,
2 the sons of God, looking at the women, saw how beautiful they were and married as many of them asthey chose.	2 побачили сини Божі людських дочок, що були гарні, та й стали брати їх собі за жінок, хто котру вподобав.
3 Yahweh said, 'My spirit cannot be indefinitely responsible for human beings, who are only flesh; let thetime al owed each be a hundred and twenty years.'	3 І сказав Господь: Не перебуватиме дух мій у чоловікові назавжди, бо він також є тіло, й тому віку його буде 120 років.
4 The Nephilim were on earth in those days (and even afterwards) when the sons of God resorted to thewomen, and had children by them. These were the heroes of days gone by, men of renown.	4 Були ж того часу велетні на землі — були вони й потім, коли сини Божі жили з дочками людськими, й ці їм родили. То були славетні велети давнини.
5 Yahweh saw that human wickedness was great on earth and that human hearts contrived nothing butwicked schemes al day long.	5 Побачив Господь, що людська злоба на землі велика та що всі думки й помисли сердець увесь час тільки злі,
6 Yahweh regretted having made human beings on earth and was grieved at heart.	6 і жалував, що створив людину на землі, тож на серці йому стало важко;
7 And Yahweh said, 'I shal rid the surface of the earth of the human beings whom I created -- humanand animal, the creeping things and the birds of heaven -- for I regret having made them.'	7 і сказав: Знищу з лиця землі людину, яку я сотворив: людину, скотину, плазунів і птиць піднебесних, бо каюсь, що створив їх.
8 But Noah won Yahweh's favour.	8 Та Ной здобув ласку в очах Господніх.
9 This is the story of Noah: Noah was a good man, an upright man among his contemporaries, and hewalked with God.	9 Ось родовід Ноя. Ной був чоловік праведний і досконалий між сучасниками; він ходив з Богом.
10 Noah fathered three sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth.	10 Ной мав трьох синів: Сима, Хама та Яфета.
11 God saw that the earth was corrupt and ful of lawlessness.	11 Але земля зіпсувалася супроти Бога і була переповнена насильства.
12 God looked at the earth: it was corrupt, for corrupt were the ways of al living things on earth.	12 Глянув Бог на землю, а ось вона зіпсована, бо кожне тіло занапастило свою путь на землі.
13 God said to Noah, 'I have decided that the end has come for al living things, for the earth is full oflawlessness because of human beings. So I am now about to destroy them and the earth.	13 І сказав Бог до Ноя: Я ухвалив покласти кінець кожному тілу, бо земля переповнена насильством через них. Отож я знищу їх разом із землею.
14 Make yourself an ark out of resinous wood. Make it of reeds and caulk it with pitch inside and out.	14 Зроби собі ковчег із соснового дерева. Зробиш його з переділами й просмолиш його зсередини та ззовні смолою.
15 This is how to make it: the length of the ark is to be three hundred cubits, its breadth fifty cubits, andits height thirty cubits.	15 Зробиш його так: триста ліктів завдовжки, п’ятдесят завшир і тридцять заввиш.
16 Make a roof to the ark, building it up to a cubit higher. Put the entrance in the side of the ark, which isto be made with lower, second and third decks.	16 Дах зробиш у ковчезі й зведеш його на один лікоть вище. Двері в ковчезі зробиш збоку. Збудуєш його поверхами: долішній, середній і верхній.
17 'For my part I am going to send the flood, the waters, on earth, to destroy al living things having thebreath of life under heaven; everything on earth is to perish.	17 Оце я наведу потоп вод на землю, щоб вигубити під небом всяке тіло, що в ньому віддих життя. Все, що є на землі, загине.
18 But with you I shal establish my covenant and you wil go aboard the ark, yourself, your sons, yourwife, and your sons' wives along with you.	18 Але з тобою я зроблю союз. Ти ввійдеш у ковчег, ти, твої сини, твоя жінка й жінки твоїх синів з тобою.
19 From al living creatures, from al living things, you must take two of each kind aboard the ark, to savetheir lives with yours; they must be a male and a female.	19 З усього, що живе, з усякого тіла введеш у ковчег подвоє з кожного роду, щоб зберегти їх живими з тобою. Нехай будуть самець і самиця,
20 Of every species of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that creeps along theground, two must go with you so that their lives may be saved.	20 З кожного роду птаства, з кожного роду скоту й з кожного роду земних плазунів, по двоє з кожного роду прийдуть до тебе, щоб зберегти їх живими.
21 For your part, provide yourself with eatables of al kinds, and lay in a store of them, to serve as foodfor yourself and them.'	21 Ти ж візьми для себе всяких харчів і збережи їх у себе, щоб ти й вони мали що їсти.
22 Noah did this; exactly as God commanded him, he did.	22 І Ной зробив усе так, як велів йому Бог; саме так і зробив він.
