Genesis 6

NEW JERUSALEM	EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL
1 When people began being numerous on earth, and daughters had been born to them,	1 Als sich die Menschen über die Erde hin zu vermehren begannen und ihnen Töchter geboren wurden,
2 the sons of God, looking at the women, saw how beautiful they were and married as many of them asthey chose.	2 sahen die Gottessöhne, wie schön die Menschentöchter waren, und sie nahmen sich von ihnen Frauen, wie es ihnen gefiel.
3 Yahweh said, 'My spirit cannot be indefinitely responsible for human beings, who are only flesh; let thetime al owed each be a hundred and twenty years.'	3 Da sprach der Herr: Mein Geist soll nicht für immer im Menschen bleiben, weil er auch Fleisch ist; daher soll seine Lebenszeit hundertzwanzig Jahre betragen.
4 The Nephilim were on earth in those days (and even afterwards) when the sons of God resorted to thewomen, and had children by them. These were the heroes of days gone by, men of renown.	4 In jenen Tagen gab es auf der Erde die Riesen, und auch später noch, nachdem sich die Gottessöhne mit den Menschentöchtern eingelassen und diese ihnen Kinder geboren hatten. Das sind die Helden der Vorzeit, die berühmten Männer.
5 Yahweh saw that human wickedness was great on earth and that human hearts contrived nothing butwicked schemes al day long.	5 Der Herr sah, dass auf der Erde die Schlechtigkeit des Menschen zunahm und dass alles Sinnen und Trachten seines Herzens immer nur böse war.
6 Yahweh regretted having made human beings on earth and was grieved at heart.	6 Da reute es den Herrn, auf der Erde den Menschen gemacht zu haben, und es tat seinem Herzen weh.
7 And Yahweh said, 'I shal rid the surface of the earth of the human beings whom I created -- humanand animal, the creeping things and the birds of heaven -- for I regret having made them.'	7 Der Herr sagte: Ich will den Menschen, den ich erschaffen habe, vom Erdboden vertilgen, mit ihm auch das Vieh, die Kriechtiere und die Vögel des Himmels, denn es reut mich, sie gemacht zu haben.
8 But Noah won Yahweh's favour.	8 Nur Noach fand Gnade in den Augen des Herrn.
9 This is the story of Noah: Noah was a good man, an upright man among his contemporaries, and hewalked with God.	9 Das ist die Geschlechterfolge nach Noach: Noach war ein gerechter, untadeliger Mann unter seinen Zeitgenossen; er ging seinen Weg mit Gott.
10 Noah fathered three sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth.	10 Noach zeugte drei Söhne, Sem, Ham und Jafet.
11 God saw that the earth was corrupt and ful of lawlessness.	11 Die Erde aber war in Gottes Augen verdorben, sie war voller Gewalttat.
12 God looked at the earth: it was corrupt, for corrupt were the ways of al living things on earth.	12 Gott sah sich die Erde an: Sie war verdorben, denn alle Wesen aus Fleisch auf der Erde lebten verdorben.
13 God said to Noah, 'I have decided that the end has come for al living things, for the earth is full oflawlessness because of human beings. So I am now about to destroy them and the earth.	13 Da sprach Gott zu Noach: Ich sehe, das Ende aller Wesen aus Fleisch ist da; denn durch sie ist die Erde voller Gewalttat. Nun will ich sie zugleich mit der Erde verderben.
14 Make yourself an ark out of resinous wood. Make it of reeds and caulk it with pitch inside and out.	14 Mach dir eine Arche aus Zypressenholz! Statte sie mit Kammern aus, und dichte sie innen und außen mit Pech ab!
15 This is how to make it: the length of the ark is to be three hundred cubits, its breadth fifty cubits, andits height thirty cubits.	15 So sollst du die Arche bauen: Dreihundert Ellen lang, fünfzig Ellen breit und dreißig Ellen hoch soll sie sein.
16 Make a roof to the ark, building it up to a cubit higher. Put the entrance in the side of the ark, which isto be made with lower, second and third decks.	16 Mach der Arche ein Dach und hebe es genau um eine Elle nach oben an! Den Eingang der Arche bring an der Seite an! Richte ein unteres, ein zweites und ein drittes Stockwerk ein!
17 'For my part I am going to send the flood, the waters, on earth, to destroy al living things having thebreath of life under heaven; everything on earth is to perish.	17 Ich will nämlich die Flut über die Erde bringen, um alle Wesen aus Fleisch unter dem Himmel, alles, was Lebensgeist in sich hat, zu verderben. Alles auf Erden soll verenden.
18 But with you I shal establish my covenant and you wil go aboard the ark, yourself, your sons, yourwife, and your sons' wives along with you.	18 Mit dir aber schließe ich meinen Bund. Geh in die Arche, du, deine Söhne, deine Frau und die Frauen deiner Söhne!
19 From al living creatures, from al living things, you must take two of each kind aboard the ark, to savetheir lives with yours; they must be a male and a female.	19 Von allem, was lebt, von allen Wesen aus Fleisch, führe je zwei in die Arche, damit sie mit dir am Leben bleiben; je ein Männchen und ein Weibchen sollen es sein.
20 Of every species of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that creeps along theground, two must go with you so that their lives may be saved.	20 Von allen Arten der Vögel, von allen Arten des Viehs, von allen Arten der Kriechtiere auf dem Erdboden sollen je zwei zu dir kommen, damit sie am Leben bleiben.
21 For your part, provide yourself with eatables of al kinds, and lay in a store of them, to serve as foodfor yourself and them.'	21 Nimm dir von allem Essbaren mit und leg dir einen Vorrat an! Dir und ihnen soll es zur Nahrung dienen.
22 Noah did this; exactly as God commanded him, he did.	22 Noach tat alles genau so, wie ihm Gott aufgetragen hatte.
