1 When Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedor-Laomer king of Elam, and Tidal king ofthe Goiim,	1 E avvenne in quel tempo, che Amraphel re di Sennaar, e Arioch re di Ponto, e Chodorlahomor re degli Elamiti, e Thadal re delle Nazioni,
2 made war on Bera king of Sodom, Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, Shemeber king ofZeboi m, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar),	2 Mosser guerra a Bara re de' Sodomiti, e a Bersa re di Gomorra, e a Sennaab re di Adama, e a Semeber re di Seboim, e al re di Bala; la quale è Segor.
3 al the latter joined forces in the Val ey of Siddim (now the Salt Sea).	3 Tutti questi si raunarono nella valle de' Boschi, che è adesso il mar salato.
4 For twelve years they had been under the yoke of Chedor-Laomer, but in the thirteenth year theyrevolted.	4 Imperocché per dodici anni erano stati sudditi di Chodorlahomor, e il decimo terzo anno se gli ribellarono.
5 In the fourteenth year Chedor-Laomer arrived and the kings who had al ied themselves with him. Theydefeated the Rephaim at Ashteroth-Carnaim, the Zuzim at Ham, the Emim in the Plain of Kiriathaim,	5 Per la qual cosa l'anno quartodecimo si mosse Chodorlahomor, e i regi uniti a lui: e sbaragliarono i Raphaimi ad Astaroth-Carnaim, e con essi gli Zuzimi, e gli Emimi a Save Cariathaim,
6 the Horites in the mountainous district of Seir near El-Paran, which is on the edge of the desert.	6 E i Correi su' monti di Seir fino alle campagne di Pharan, che è nel deserto.
7 Wheeling round, they came to the Spring of Judgement (that is, Kadesh); they conquered all theterritory of the Amalekites and also the Amorites who lived in Hazazon-Tamar.	7 E (i re) tornando indietro giunsero alla fontana di Misphat, che è lo stesso che Cades: e devastarono tutto il paese degli Amaleciti, e degli Amorrei, che abitavano in Asasonthamar.
8 Then the kings of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, Zeboiim and Bela (that is, Zoar) marched out andengaged them in the Val ey of Siddim:	8 Ma il re di Sodoma, e il re di Gomorrha, e il re d'Adama, e il re di Seboim, ed anche il re di Bala, la quale è Segor, si mossero: e nella valle de' Boschi schierarono il loro esercito contro di quegli:
9 Chedor-Laomer king of Elam, Tidal king of the Goiim, Amraphel king of Shinar and Arioch king ofEl asar: four kings against five.	9 Vale a dire contro Chodorlahomor re degli Elamiti, e Thadal re delle Genti, e Amraphel re di Sennaar, e Arioch re di Ponto: quattro regi contro cinque.
10 Now there were many bitumen wel s in the Val ey of Siddim, and in their flight the kings of Sodomand Gomorrah fel into them, while the rest fled into the hil s.	10 E la valle de' Boschi avea molti pezzi di bitume. Or i re di Sodoma e di Gomorrha voltaron le spalle, e vi fu fatta la strage: e quei che salvaron la vita, fuggirono alla montagna.
11 The conquerors seized al the possessions of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their provisions, andmade off.	11 E (i vincitori) presero tutte le ricchezze di Sodoma, e di Gomorrha, e tutti i viveri, e se n'andarono.
12 They also took Lot (the nephew of Abram) and his possessions and made off; he had been living atSodom.	12 E (presero) anche con tutto quello che aveva, il figliuolo del fratello di Abramo Lot, che abitava in Sodoma.
13 A survivor came to tell Abram, and Aner the Hebrew, who was living at the Oak of the AmoriteMamre, the brother of Eshcol; these were al ies of Abram.	13 Ed ecco uno de' fuggitivi ne portò la nuova ad Abramo Ebreo, il quale abitava nella valle di Mambre Amorrheo, fratello di Escol, e di Aner; perocché questi avean fatto lega con Abramo.
14 When Abram heard that his kinsman had been taken captive, he mustered his retainers born in hisown household, numbering three hundred and eighteen, and gave chase as far as Dan.	14 Abramo adunque avendo udito, come era stato fatto prigioniero Lot suo fratello, scelse tra' suoi servi trecento diciotto uomini i più lesti; e tenne dietro a' nemici fino a Dan.
15 He and his retainers deployed against them under cover of dark, defeated them and pursued themas far as Hobah, north of Damascus.	15 E divise le schiere, gli assalì di notte tempo: e gli sbaragliò, e gl'inseguì sino ad Hoba, che è alla sinistra di Damasco.
16 He recaptured all the goods as wel as his kinsman Lot and his possessions, together with thewomen and people.	16 E ricuperò tutte le ricchezze, e Lot suo fratello con tutta la roba di lui, ed anche le donne, e il popolo.
17 When Abram returned from defeating Chedor-Laomer and the kings who had been on his side, theking of Sodom came to meet him in the Val ey of Shaveh (that is, the Val ey of the King).	17 E andogli incontro nella valle di Save (che è la valle del re) il re di Sodoma, quand'ei tornava dalla rotta di Chodorlahomor, e de' re suoi confederati.
18 Melchizedek king of Salem brought bread and wine; he was a priest of God Most High.	18 Ma Melchisedec re di Salem, messo fuora del pane e del vino: perocché egli era sacerdote di Dio Altissimo:
19 He pronounced this blessing: Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth.And blessed be God Most High for putting your enemies into your clutches.	19 Lo benedisse, dicendo: Benedetto Abramo dall'altissimo Dio, che creò il cielo, e la terra:
20 And Abram gave him a tenth of everything.	20 E benedetto l'altissimo Dio, per la cui protezione sono stati dati in poter tuo i nemici. E (Abramo) diede a lui le decime di tutte le cose.
21 The king of Sodom said to Abram, 'Give me the people and take the possessions for yourself.'	21 E il re di Sodoma disse ad Abramo: Dammi gli uomini: tutto il resto tienlo per te.
22 But Abram replied to the king of Sodom, 'I swear by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth:	22 Quegli rispose a lui: Alzo la mano mia al Signore Dio altissimo, padrone del cielo e della terra,
23 not one thread, not one sandal strap, will I take of what is yours, for you to be able to say, "I madeAbram rich."	23 Che né un filo di ripieno, né una correggia di scarpa io prenderò di tutto quello che è tuo, perché tu non dica: Ho fatto ricco Abramo:
24 For myself, nothing -- except what the troops have used up, and the share due to the men who camewith me, Eshcol, Aner and Mamre; let them take their share.'	24 Eccettuato quello che hanno mangiato i giovani, e le porzioni di questi uomini, che son venuti meco, Aner, Escol, e Mambre: questi avranno ognuno la sua parte.
