1 When Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedor-Laomer king of Elam, and Tidal king ofthe Goiim,	1 Történt pedig abban az időben, hogy Amráfel, Sineár királya, és Áriok, Ellaszár királya, és Kedorlaomer, az elamiták királya, és Tádál, a nemzetek királya
2 made war on Bera king of Sodom, Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, Shemeber king ofZeboi m, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar),	2 háborút indítottak Bára, Szodoma királya, és Bersa, Gomorra királya, és Sineáb, Adáma királya, és Semeber, Ceboim királya, és Bála – azaz Coár – királya ellen.

10 Now there were many bitumen wel s in the Val ey of Siddim, and in their flight the kings of Sodomand Gomorrah fel into them, while the rest fled into the hil s.	10 A Sziddím völgynek sok aszfaltgödre volt, és amikor megfutamodott a szodomai és a gomorrai király, beleestek ezekbe, a többiek pedig felmenekültek a hegységbe.
11 The conquerors seized al the possessions of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their provisions, andmade off.	11 Erre azok elvitték Szodoma és Gomorra minden vagyonát és minden eleségét, és elvonultak.

18 Melchizedek king of Salem brought bread and wine; he was a priest of God Most High.	18 Melkizedek, Szálem királya pedig kenyeret és bort hozott eléje, mert a fölséges Isten papja volt.
19 He pronounced this blessing: Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth.And blessed be God Most High for putting your enemies into your clutches.	19 Megáldotta őt, és így szólt: »Áldja meg Ábrámot a fölséges Isten, aki az eget és földet teremtette,
20 And Abram gave him a tenth of everything.	20 és áldott legyen a fölséges Isten, aki kezedbe adta ellenségeidet!« Erre ő tizedet adott neki mindenből.
21 The king of Sodom said to Abram, 'Give me the people and take the possessions for yourself.'	21 Szodoma királya pedig azt mondta Ábrámnak: »Az embereket add ide nekem, a többit tartsd meg magadnak!«
22 But Abram replied to the king of Sodom, 'I swear by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth:	22 Ő azonban azt felelte neki: »Kezemet az Úrhoz, a felséges Istenhez emelem, aki az ég és a föld Alkotója,
23 not one thread, not one sandal strap, will I take of what is yours, for you to be able to say, "I madeAbram rich."	23 hogy még egy szál fonalat vagy egy sarukötőt sem veszek el mindabból, ami a tiéd, hogy azt ne mondjad: ‘én tettem gazdaggá Ábrámot’ –
24 For myself, nothing -- except what the troops have used up, and the share due to the men who camewith me, Eshcol, Aner and Mamre; let them take their share.'	24 kivéve azt, amit a legények megettek, és a velem jött embereknek, Ánernek, Eskolnak és Mamrénak a részét: ők kapják meg a részüket!«
