1 Children, obey your parents (in the Lord), for this is right.	1 Hijos, obedeced a vuestros padres en el Señor; porque esto es justo.
2 "Honor your father and mother." This is the first commandment with a promise,	2 Honra a tu padre y a tu madre, tal es el primer mandamiento que lleva consigo una promesa:
3 "that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life on earth."	3 Para que seas feliz y se prolongue tu vida sobre la tierra.
4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up with the training and instruction of the Lord.	4 Padres, no exasperéis a vuestros hijos, sino formadlos más bien mediante la instrucción y la corrección según el Señor.
5 Slaves, be obedient to your human masters with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ,	5 Esclavos, obedeced a vuestros amos de este mundo con respeto y temor, con sencillez de corazón, como a Cristo,
6 not only when being watched, as currying favor, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,	6 no por ser vistos, como quien busca agradar a los hombres, sino como esclavos de Cristo que cumplen de corazón la voluntad de Dios;
7 willingly serving the Lord and not human beings,	7 de buena gana, como quien sirve al Señor y no a los hombres;
8 knowing that each will be requited from the Lord for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.	8 conscientes de que cada cual será recompemsado por el Señor según el bien que hiciere: sea esclavo, sea libre.
9 Masters, act in the same way toward them, and stop bullying, knowing that both they and you have a Master in heaven and that with him there is no partiality.	9 Amos, obrad de la misma manera con ellos, dejando las amenazas; teniendo presente que está en los cielos el Amo vuestro y de ellos, y que en él no hay acepción de personas.
10 Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power.	10 Por lo demás, fortaleceos en el Señor y en la fuerza de su poder.
11 Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil.	11 Revestíos de las armas de Dios para poder resistir a las acechanzas del Diablo.
12 For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens.	12 Porque nuestra lucha no es contra la carne y la sangre, sino contra los Principados, contra las Potestades, contra los Dominadores de este mundo tenebroso, contra los Espíritus del Mal que están en las alturas.
13 Therefore, put on the armor of God, that you may be able to resist on the evil day and, having done everything, to hold your ground.	13 Por eso, tomad las armas de Dios, para que podáis resistir en el día malo, y después de haber vencido todo, manteneros firmes.
14 So stand fast with your loins girded in truth, clothed with righteousness as a breastplate,	14 ¡En pie!, pues; ceñida vuestra cintura con la Verdad y revestidos de la Justicia como coraza,
15 and your feet shod in readiness for the gospel of peace.	15 calzados los pies con el Celo por el Evangelio de la paz,
16 In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all (the) flaming arrows of the evil one.	16 embrazando siempre el escudo de la Fe, para que podáis apagar con él todos los encendidos dardos del Maligno.
17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.	17 Tomad, también, el yelmo de la salvación y la la espada del Espíritu, que es la Palabra de Dios;
18 With all prayer and supplication, pray at every opportunity in the Spirit. To that end, be watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones	18 siempre en oración y súplica, orando en toda ocasión en el Espíritu, velando juntos con perseverancia e intercediendo por todos los santos,
19 and also for me, that speech may be given me to open my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel	19 y también por mí, para que me sea dada la Palabra al abrir mi boca y pueda dar a conocer con valentía el Misterio del Evangelio,
20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, so that I may have the courage to speak as I must.	20 del cual soy embajador entre cadenas, y pueda hablar de él valientemente como conviene.
21 So that you also may have news of me and of what I am doing, Tychicus, my beloved brother and trustworthy minister in the Lord, will tell you everything.	21 Para que también vosotros sepáis cómo me va y qué hago, os informará de todo Tíquico, el hermano querido y fiel ministro en el Señor,
22 I am sending him to you for this very purpose, so that you may know about us and that he may encourage your hearts.	22 a quien envío donde vosotros expresamente para que sepáis de nosotros y consuele vuestros corazones.
23 Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	23 Paz a los hermanos, y caridad con fe de parte de Dios Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.
24 Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ in immortality.	24 La gracia sea con todos los que aman a nuestro Señor Jesucristo en la vida incorruptible.
