1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 Ekkor az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
2 Son of man, now say: Thus says the Lord GOD to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land!	2 »Most pedig, emberfia, így szól az Úr Isten Izrael földjéhez: Eljött a vég, a vég eljött az ország négy tájára!
3 Now the end is upon you; I will unleash my anger against you and judge you according to your conduct and lay upon you the consequences of all your abominations.	3 Már rajtad van a vég, rád bocsátom haragomat; megítéllek útjaid szerint, és rád helyezem minden utálatosságodat!
4 I will not look upon you with pity nor have mercy; I will bring your conduct down upon you, and the consequences of your abominations shall be in your midst; then shall you know that I am the LORD.	4 Szemem nem könyörül meg rajtad és nem irgalmazok, hanem útjaid terhét rád rakom és utálatosságaid benned lesznek, és megtudjátok, hogy én vagyok az Úr.
5 Thus says the Lord GOD: Disaster upon disaster! See it coming!	5 Így szól az Úr Isten: Íme, csapás csapást ér!
6 An end is coming, the end is coming upon you! See it coming!	6 Eljött a vég; a vég eljött; rád virradt, íme, eljött!
7 The climax has come for you who dwell in the land! The time has come, near is the day: a time of consternation, not of rejoicing.	7 Eljött rád a pusztulás, te ország lakója; eljött az idő, közel van a napja az öldöklésnek, és nem a hegyek dicsőségének!
8 Soon now I will pour out my fury upon you and spend my anger upon you; I will judge you according to your conduct and lay upon you the consequences of all your abominations.	8 Most közelről öntöm ki rád haragomat és kitöltöm rajtad bosszúmat; megítéllek útjaid szerint és rád rakom minden gonoszságodat.
9 I will not look upon you with pity nor have mercy; I will deal with you according to your conduct, and the consequences of your abominations shall be in your midst; then shall you know that it is I, the LORD, who strike.	9 Szemem nem könyörül meg és nem irgalmazok, hanem rád rakom útjaid terhét, és utálatosságaid benned lesznek, és megtudjátok, hogy én, az Úr büntetek!
10 See, the day of the LORD! See, the end is coming! Lawlessness is in full bloom, insolence flourishes,	10 Íme, a nap, íme, eljött, kikelt a pusztulás, kivirágzott a vessző, kisarjadt a kevélység;
11 violence has risen to support wickedness. It shall not be long in coming, nor shall it delay.	11 kinőtt a gonoszság az istentelenség vesszejévé! Semmi sem marad meg belőlük, sem a népből, sem örömkiáltásukból, és semmi nyugalmuk nem lesz.
12 The time has come, the day dawns. Let not the buyer rejoice nor the seller mourn, for wrath shall be upon all the throng.	12 Eljött az idő, közel van a nap! Aki vesz, ne örvendjen, s aki elad, ne szomorkodjék, mert harag nehezedik egész népére.
13 The seller shall not regain what he sold as long as he lives, for wrath shall be upon all the throng. Because of his sins, no one shall preserve his life.	13 Mert aki elad, nem szerzi vissza azt, amit eladott, még ha meg is marad életük az élők között; mert nem tér vissza a látomás, amely egész sokasága ellen szól, és élte gonoszságától senki erőre nem kap.
14 They shall sound the trumpet and make everything ready, yet no one shall go to war, for my wrath is upon all the throng.	14 Fújjátok meg a harsonát, készüljenek fel mindnyájan! – De senki sincs, aki harcba szállna, mert egész népére az én haragom nehezedik.
15 The sword is outside; pestilence and hunger are within. He that is in the country shall die by the sword; pestilence and famine shall devour those in the city.	15 Kívül kard, belül döghalál és éhínség! Aki a mezőn van, kard által hull el, s akik a városban vannak, döghalállal és éhínséggel vesznek el.
16 Even those who escape and flee to the mountains like the doves of the valleys--I will put them all to death, each one for his own sins.	16 Csak azok menekülnek meg közülük, akik elfutnak; a hegyek között lesznek, mint a völgyek galambjai, mindnyájan remegni fognak, mindenki a saját gonoszsága miatt.
17 All their hands shall be limp, and all their knees shall run with water.	17 Minden kéz ellankad, és minden térd vízben ázik.
18 They shall put on sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; shame shall be on all their faces and baldness on all their heads.	18 Szőrruhába öltöznek, és elborítja őket a félelem; minden arcon szégyen ég, és mindegyikük feje kopasz lesz.
19 They shall fling their silver into the streets, and their gold shall be considered refuse. Their silver and gold cannot save them on the day of the LORD'S wrath. They shall not be allowed to satisfy their craving or fill their bellies, for this has been the occasion of their sin.	19 Ezüstjüket kidobják és aranyuk sárrá lesz; ezüstjük és aranyuk nem szabadíthatja meg őket az Úr haragjának napján. Nem laknak jól vele, és gyomruk nem telik meg, mert az gonoszságra vezette őket.
20 In the beauty of their ornaments they put their pride: they made of them their abominable images (their idols). For this reason I make them refuse.	20 Díszes ékszereiket kevélységre használták, és belőle utálatos képeket meg bálványszobrokat készítettek maguknak; ezért tisztátalansággá tettem azt számukra;
21 I will hand them over as booty to foreigners, to be spoiled and defiled by the wicked of the earth.	21 idegenek kezébe adom fosztogatásra, a föld gonoszainak prédára, hogy megszentségtelenítsék.
22 I will turn away my face from them, and my treasure shall be profaned: robbers shall enter and profane it.	22 Elfordítom róluk arcomat, s azok megszentségtelenítik titkomat; fosztogatók hatolnak be oda s megszentségtelenítik azt.
23 They shall wreak slaughter, for the land is filled with bloodshed and the city full of violence.	23 Készíts láncot! Mert a föld tele van vértörvénnyel, s a város tele van gonoszsággal.
24 I will bring in the worst of the nations, who shall take possession of their houses. I will put an end to their proud strength, and their sanctuaries shall be profaned.	24 Elővezetem a nemzetek leggonoszabbjait, s azok birtokukba veszik házaikat; véget vetek a hatalmasok kevélységének, és azok birtokukba veszik szentélyeiket.
25 When anguish comes they shall seek peace, but there will be none.	25 Ha rájuk jön a szorongatás, keresik majd a békét, de nem lesz!
26 There shall be disaster after disaster, rumor after rumor. Prophetic vision shall fade; instruction shall be lacking to the priest, and counsel to the elders,	26 Pusztulás pusztulást követ, az egyik hír a másikat éri; látomást követelnek a prófétától, de törvény nem lesz a papnál és tanács a véneknél.
27 while the prince shall be enveloped in terror, and the hands of the common people shall tremble. I will deal with them according to their conduct, and according to their judgments I will judge them; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	27 Gyászol a király, szomorúságba öltözik a fejedelem, s a föld népének keze megremeg. Útjaik szerint cselekszem majd velük és ítéleteik szerint ítélem meg őket; és megtudják, hogy én vagyok az Úr!«
