Ezekiel 7

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes.
2 Son of man, now say: Thus says the Lord GOD to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land!	2 Fils d'homme, dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé à la terre d'Israël: Fini! La fin vient sur les quatrecoins du pays.
3 Now the end is upon you; I will unleash my anger against you and judge you according to your conduct and lay upon you the consequences of all your abominations.	3 C'est maintenant la fin pour toi; je vais lâcher ma colère contre toi pour te juger selon ta conduite ette demander compte de toutes tes abominations.
4 I will not look upon you with pity nor have mercy; I will bring your conduct down upon you, and the consequences of your abominations shall be in your midst; then shall you know that I am the LORD.	4 Je n'aurai pas pour toi un regard de pitié, je ne t'épargnerai pas, mais je ferai retomber sur toi taconduite, tes abominations resteront au milieu de toi et vous saurez que je suis Yahvé.
5 Thus says the Lord GOD: Disaster upon disaster! See it coming!	5 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé: Voici que vient un malheur, un seul malheur.
6 An end is coming, the end is coming upon you! See it coming!	6 La fin approche, la fin approche, elle s'éveille en ta direction, la voici qui vient.
7 The climax has come for you who dwell in the land! The time has come, near is the day: a time of consternation, not of rejoicing.	7 C'est ton tour, à toi qui habites le pays. Le temps vient, le jour est proche, c'est le trouble et nonplus la joie pour les montagnes.
8 Soon now I will pour out my fury upon you and spend my anger upon you; I will judge you according to your conduct and lay upon you the consequences of all your abominations.	8 Maintenant, je vais bientôt déverser ma fureur sur toi et assouvir ma colère contre toi; je vais tejuger selon ta conduite et te demander compte de toutes tes abominations.
9 I will not look upon you with pity nor have mercy; I will deal with you according to your conduct, and the consequences of your abominations shall be in your midst; then shall you know that it is I, the LORD, who strike.	9 Je n'aurai pas un regard de pitié et je n'épargnerai pas, mais je te traiterai selon ta conduite, tesabominations resteront au milieu de toi et vous saurez que je suis Yahvé, qui frappe.
10 See, the day of the LORD! See, the end is coming! Lawlessness is in full bloom, insolence flourishes,	10 Voici le jour, voici que vient ton tour, il est venu, il est sorti, le sceptre a fleuri, l'orgueil s'estépanoui.
11 violence has risen to support wickedness. It shall not be long in coming, nor shall it delay.	11 La violence s'est levée pour devenir un fléau de méchanceté.
12 The time has come, the day dawns. Let not the buyer rejoice nor the seller mourn, for wrath shall be upon all the throng.	12 Le temps vient, le jour est proche. Que l'acheteur ne se réjouisse pas, que le vendeur ne se désolepas, car la fureur est contre tout le monde.
13 The seller shall not regain what he sold as long as he lives, for wrath shall be upon all the throng. Because of his sins, no one shall preserve his life.	13 Le vendeur ne reviendra pas à ce qu'il a vendu, chacun vit dans son péché: ils ne seront pasfortifiés.
14 They shall sound the trumpet and make everything ready, yet no one shall go to war, for my wrath is upon all the throng.	14 On sonne de la trompette, tout est prêt et personne ne marche au combat, car ma fureur est contretout le monde.
15 The sword is outside; pestilence and hunger are within. He that is in the country shall die by the sword; pestilence and famine shall devour those in the city.	15 C'est l'épée au-dehors, la peste et la famine au-dedans. Quiconque sera dans la campagne mourrapar l'épée, et quiconque sera dans la ville, la famine et la peste le dévoreront.
16 Even those who escape and flee to the mountains like the doves of the valleys--I will put them all to death, each one for his own sins.	16 Ils auront des survivants qui iront vers les montagnes comme les colombes des vallées, et je lesferai tous mourir, chacun pour sa faute.
17 All their hands shall be limp, and all their knees shall run with water.	17 Toutes les mains faibliront, tous les genoux s'en iront en eau.
18 They shall put on sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; shame shall be on all their faces and baldness on all their heads.	18 Ils se revêtiront de sacs, un frisson les enveloppera. Tous les visages seront honteux, toutes lestêtes rasées.
19 They shall fling their silver into the streets, and their gold shall be considered refuse. Their silver and gold cannot save them on the day of the LORD'S wrath. They shall not be allowed to satisfy their craving or fill their bellies, for this has been the occasion of their sin.	19 Ils jetteront leur argent dans les rues, et leur or leur sera une souillure; leur argent ni leur or nepourront les sauver au jour de la fureur de Yahvé. Ils ne se rassasieront plus, ils ne rempliront plus leur ventre,car c'était là l'occasion de leurs fautes.
20 In the beauty of their ornaments they put their pride: they made of them their abominable images (their idols). For this reason I make them refuse.	20 Dans la beauté de leurs bijoux, ils mettaient leur orgueil: ils en ont fait leurs images abominables,leurs horreurs, c'est pourquoi j'en ferai pour eux une souillure.
21 I will hand them over as booty to foreigners, to be spoiled and defiled by the wicked of the earth.	21 Je vais les livrer aux mains des étrangers en pillage, à la pègre du pays en butin. Ils le profaneront.
22 I will turn away my face from them, and my treasure shall be profaned: robbers shall enter and profane it.	22 Je détournerai d'eux ma face, on profanera mon trésor, des barbares y pénétreront et leprofaneront.
23 They shall wreak slaughter, for the land is filled with bloodshed and the city full of violence.	23 Fabrique une chaîne, car le pays est rempli d'exécutions sanglantes, la ville est pleine deviolences.
24 I will bring in the worst of the nations, who shall take possession of their houses. I will put an end to their proud strength, and their sanctuaries shall be profaned.	24 Je ferai venir les nations les plus cruelles qui s'empareront de leurs maisons. Je ferai cesserl'orgueil des puissants et leurs sanctuaires seront profanés.
25 When anguish comes they shall seek peace, but there will be none.	25 La terreur vient; ils chercheront la paix et il n'y en aura pas.
26 There shall be disaster after disaster, rumor after rumor. Prophetic vision shall fade; instruction shall be lacking to the priest, and counsel to the elders,	26 Il arrivera désastre sur désastre, il y aura nouvelle sur nouvelle; on réclamera une vision auprophète, la loi fera défaut au prêtre, le conseil aux anciens.
27 while the prince shall be enveloped in terror, and the hands of the common people shall tremble. I will deal with them according to their conduct, and according to their judgments I will judge them; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	27 Le roi sera dans le deuil, le prince sera plongé dans la désolation, les mains des gens du paystrembleront. J'agirai selon leur conduite, je les jugerai selon leurs jugements, et ils sauront que je suis Yahvé.
