Ezekiel 7

1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:
2 Son of man, now say: Thus says the Lord GOD to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land!	2 «Ora, figlio dell’uomo, riferisci: Così dice il Signore Dio alla terra d’Israele. Ecco la fine: essa giunge sino ai quattro estremi della terra.
3 Now the end is upon you; I will unleash my anger against you and judge you according to your conduct and lay upon you the consequences of all your abominations.	3 Ora che su di te pende la fine, io scaglio contro di te la mia ira, per giudicarti secondo le tue opere e per domandarti conto di tutti i tuoi abomini.
4 I will not look upon you with pity nor have mercy; I will bring your conduct down upon you, and the consequences of your abominations shall be in your midst; then shall you know that I am the LORD.	4 Non avrà pietà di te il mio occhio e non avrò compassione, ma ti riterrò responsabile della tua condotta e diverranno palesi in mezzo a te i tuoi abomini; saprete allora che io sono il Signore.
5 Thus says the Lord GOD: Disaster upon disaster! See it coming!	5 Così dice il Signore Dio: Ecco, arriva sventura su sventura.
6 An end is coming, the end is coming upon you! See it coming!	6 Viene la fine, viene su di te: ecco, viene!
7 The climax has come for you who dwell in the land! The time has come, near is the day: a time of consternation, not of rejoicing.	7 Viene il tuo turno, o abitante della terra: arriva il tempo, è prossimo il giorno terribile e non di tripudio sui monti.
8 Soon now I will pour out my fury upon you and spend my anger upon you; I will judge you according to your conduct and lay upon you the consequences of all your abominations.	8 Ora, fra breve, rovescerò il mio furore su di te, e su di te darò sfogo alla mia ira, per giudicarti secondo le tue opere e per domandarti conto di tutti i tuoi abomini.
9 I will not look upon you with pity nor have mercy; I will deal with you according to your conduct, and the consequences of your abominations shall be in your midst; then shall you know that it is I, the LORD, who strike.	9 Non avrà pietà di te il mio occhio e non avrò compassione, ma ti riterrò responsabile della tua condotta e diverranno palesi in mezzo a te i tuoi abomini: saprete allora che sono io, il Signore, colui che colpisce.
10 See, the day of the LORD! See, the end is coming! Lawlessness is in full bloom, insolence flourishes,	10 Ecco il giorno, eccolo: arriva. È giunto il tuo turno. L’ingiustizia fiorisce, germoglia l’orgoglio
11 violence has risen to support wickedness. It shall not be long in coming, nor shall it delay.	11 e regna la violenza, scettro della malvagità.
12 The time has come, the day dawns. Let not the buyer rejoice nor the seller mourn, for wrath shall be upon all the throng.	12 È giunto il tempo, è vicino il giorno: chi ha comprato non si allieti, chi ha venduto non rimpianga, perché l’ira pende su tutti!
13 The seller shall not regain what he sold as long as he lives, for wrath shall be upon all the throng. Because of his sins, no one shall preserve his life.	13 Chi ha venduto non tornerà in possesso di ciò che ha venduto, anche se rimarrà in vita, perché la condanna contro il loro fasto non sarà revocata e nessuno, per la sua perversità, potrà salvare la sua esistenza.
14 They shall sound the trumpet and make everything ready, yet no one shall go to war, for my wrath is upon all the throng.	14 Si suona il corno e tutto è pronto; ma nessuno muove a battaglia, perché il mio furore è contro tutta quella moltitudine.
15 The sword is outside; pestilence and hunger are within. He that is in the country shall die by the sword; pestilence and famine shall devour those in the city.	15 La spada all’esterno, la peste e la fame di dentro: chi è in campagna perirà di spada, chi è in città sarà divorato dalla fame e dalla peste.
16 Even those who escape and flee to the mountains like the doves of the valleys--I will put them all to death, each one for his own sins.	16 Chi di loro potrà fuggire e salvarsi sui monti, gemerà come le colombe delle valli, ognuno per la sua iniquità.
17 All their hands shall be limp, and all their knees shall run with water.	17 Tutte le mani si indeboliranno e tutte le ginocchia si scioglieranno come acqua.
18 They shall put on sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; shame shall be on all their faces and baldness on all their heads.	18 Vestiranno il sacco e lo spavento li avvolgerà. Su tutti i volti sarà la vergogna e tutte le teste saranno rasate.
19 They shall fling their silver into the streets, and their gold shall be considered refuse. Their silver and gold cannot save them on the day of the LORD'S wrath. They shall not be allowed to satisfy their craving or fill their bellies, for this has been the occasion of their sin.	19 Getteranno l’argento per le strade e il loro oro si cambierà in immondizia, con esso non si sfameranno, non si riempiranno il ventre, perché è stato per loro causa di peccato.
20 In the beauty of their ornaments they put their pride: they made of them their abominable images (their idols). For this reason I make them refuse.	20 Della bellezza dei loro gioielli fecero oggetto d’orgoglio e fabbricarono con essi le abominevoli statue dei loro idoli. Per questo li tratterò come immondizia,
21 I will hand them over as booty to foreigners, to be spoiled and defiled by the wicked of the earth.	21 li darò in preda agli stranieri e saranno bottino per i malvagi della terra che li profaneranno.
22 I will turn away my face from them, and my treasure shall be profaned: robbers shall enter and profane it.	22 Distoglierò da loro la mia faccia, sarà profanato il mio tesoro, vi entreranno i ladri e lo profaneranno.
23 They shall wreak slaughter, for the land is filled with bloodshed and the city full of violence.	23 Prepàrati una catena, poiché il paese è pieno di assassini e la città è colma di violenza.
24 I will bring in the worst of the nations, who shall take possession of their houses. I will put an end to their proud strength, and their sanctuaries shall be profaned.	24 Io manderò i popoli più feroci e s’impadroniranno delle loro case, abbatterò la superbia dei potenti, i santuari saranno profanati.
25 When anguish comes they shall seek peace, but there will be none.	25 Giungerà l’angoscia e cercheranno pace, ma pace non vi sarà.
26 There shall be disaster after disaster, rumor after rumor. Prophetic vision shall fade; instruction shall be lacking to the priest, and counsel to the elders,	26 Sventura seguirà a sventura, allarme succederà ad allarme: ai profeti chiederanno responsi, ai sacerdoti verrà meno la legge, agli anziani il consiglio.
27 while the prince shall be enveloped in terror, and the hands of the common people shall tremble. I will deal with them according to their conduct, and according to their judgments I will judge them; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	27 Il re sarà in lutto, il principe sarà ammantato di desolazione. Tremeranno le mani della popolazione del paese. Li tratterò secondo la loro condotta, li giudicherò secondo i loro giudizi: così sapranno che io sono il Signore».
