Jeremiah 33

1 The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah a second time while he was still imprisoned in the quarters of the guard:	1 Foi dirigida a palavra do Senhor a Jeremias, segunda vez, quando ainda estava recluso no átrio da guarda, nestes termos:
2 Thus says the LORD who made the earth and gave it form and firmness, whose name is LORD:	2 Assim fala o Senhor que fez a terra, que lhe deu forma e estabilidade - Iavé é o seu nome -
3 Call to me, and I will answer you; I will tell to you things great beyond reach of your knowledge.	3 Invoca-me, e eu te atenderei e te anunciarei coisas grandes e ocultas, que ignoras.
4 Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city and the palaces of Judah's kings, which are being destroyed in the face of siegeworks and the sword:	4 Porque isto diz o Senhor Deus de Israel com respeito às casas desta cidade e às casas do rei de Judá destruídas, e às fortificações, e à espada
5 men come to battle the Chaldeans, and these houses will be filled with the corpses of those whom I slay in my anger and wrath, when I hide my face from this city for all their wickedness.	5 dos que vêm pelejar contra os Caldeus, e encher estas casas de cadáveres de homens, que eu feri no meu furor e na minha indignação, desviando a minha face desta cidade, por causa de toda a sua maldade.
6 Behold, I will treat and assuage the city's wounds; I will heal them, and reveal to them an abundance of lasting peace.	6 Eis que fecharei a sua chaga e a curarei, eis que lhes mostrarei a paz e a segurança.
7 I will change the lot of Judah and the lot of Israel, and rebuild them as of old.	7 Mudarei a sorte de Judá e de Jerusalém, restabelecê-los-ei como (eram) no princípio.
8 I will cleanse them of all the guilt they incurred by sinning against me; all their offenses by which they sinned and rebelled against me, I will forgive.	8 Purifica-los-ei de todas as suas iniquidades, com que pecaram contra mim; perdoarei todas as suas maldades, com que me ofenderam e desprezaram.
9 Then Jerusalem shall be my joy, my praise, my glory, before all the nations of the earth, as they hear of all the good I will do among them. They shall be in fear and trembling over all the peaceful benefits I will give her.	9 E isto será para mim motivo de gozo, de louvor e de glória entre todas as nações da terra, quando ouvirem falar de todos os bens que lhes hei-de fazer; ficarão pasmados e se assombrarão de todos os bens e de toda a paz que lhes hei-de conceder.
10 Thus says the LORD: In this place of which you say, "How desolate it is, without man, without beast!" and in the cities of Judah, in the streets of Jerusalem that are now deserted, without man, without citizen, without beast, there shall yet be heard	10 Assim fala o Senhor: Neste lugar - que vós dizeis ser um deserto, sem homens nem animais - nas cidades de Judá, nas ruas de Jerusalém, que estão devastadas, sem homens e sem animais se hão-de ouvir ainda
11 the cry of joy, the cry of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, the voice of the bride, the sound of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the LORD, singing, "Give thanks to the LORD of hosts, for the LORD is good; his mercy endures forever." For I will restore this country as of old, says the LORD.	11 gritos de gozo e de alegria, cantos de esposo e de esposa, vozes dos que dizem: Louvai o Senhor dos exércitos, porque o Senhor é bom, porque a sua graça é eterna - (ouvir-se-á) a voz dos que trazem suas oferendas à casa do Senhor. Com efeito quero restabelecer esta terra no seu anterior estado, diz o Senhor.
12 Thus says the LORD of hosts: In this place, now desolate, without man or beast, and in all its cities there shall again be sheepfolds for the shepherds to couch their flocks.	12 Assim fala o Senhor dos exércitos: Neste lugar que está deserto, sem homens e sem animais, e em todas as suas cidades, há-de haver ainda abrigos de pastores, onde façam repousar os seus rebanhos.
13 In the cities of the hill country, of the foothills, and of the Negeb, in the land of Benjamin and the suburbs of Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, flocks will again pass under the hands of the one who counts them, says the LORD.	13 Nas cidades das montanhas, nas cidades das planícies, nas cidades que estão no meio-dia, na terra de Benjamim, nos arrabaldes de Jerusalém e nas cidades de Judá, ainda hão-de passar os rebanhos pela mão do (pastor) que os conte (ao entrar no redil), diz o Senhor.
14 The days are coming, says the LORD, when I will fulfill the promise I made to the house of Israel and Judah.	14 Aproximam-se os dias, diz o Senhor, em que eu cumprirei a palavra favorável que dei à casa de Israel e à casa de Judá.
15 In those days, in that time, I will raise up for David a just shoot; he shall do what is right and just in the land.	15 Nesses dias, nesse tempo, farei que saia de Davide um germen justo (o Messias), o qual praticará o direito e a justiça na terra.
16 In those days Judah shall be safe and Jerusalem shall dwell secure; this is what they shall call her: "The LORD our justice."	16 Naqueles dias Judá será salvo, e Jerusalém habitará sem temor. Eis o nome que lhe será dado: Iavé nossa justiça.
17 For thus says the LORD: Never shall David lack a successor on the throne of the house of Israel,	17 Porque isto diz o Senhor: Não faltará jamais um homem da linhagem de Davide que se sente sobre o trono da casa de Israel.
18 nor shall priests of Levi ever be lacking, to offer holocausts before me, to burn cereal offerings, and to sacrifice victims.This word of the LORD also came to Jeremiah:	18 E da linhagem dos sacerdotes e dos levitas não faltará jamais um homem que ofereça holocaustos em minha presença, que acenda o fogo para queimar a oblação, que imole vítimas todos os dias.
19 Thus says the LORD:	19 Depois foi dirigida a palavra do Senhor a Jeremias, a qual dizia:
20 If you can break my covenant with day, and my covenant with night, so that day and night no longer alternate in sequence,	20 Assim fala o Senhor: Se podeis quebrar a minha aliança com o dia e a minha aliança com a noite, de sorte que não haja dia nem noite a seu tempo,
21 then can my covenant with my servant David also be broken, so that he will not have a son to be king upon his throne, and my covenant with the priests of Levi who minister to me.	21 também poderá ser quebrada a minha aliança com Davide, meu servo, de sorte que não haja mais dele um filho que reine no seu trono, e levitas e sacerdotes postos a meu serviço.
22 Like the host of heaven which cannot be numbered, and the sands of the sea which cannot be counted, I will multiply the descendants of my servant David and the Levites who minister to me.	22 Assim como as estrelas do céu não podem ser contadas, nem medida a areia do mar, assim multiplicarei a linhagem de Davide, meu servo, e os levitas, postos a meu serviço.
23 This word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:	23 Foi dirigida a palavra do Senhor a Jeremias, nestes termos:
24 Have you not noticed what these people are saying: "The LORD has rejected the two tribes which he had chosen"? They spurn my people as if it were no longer a nation in their eyes.	24 Não tens reparado no que estas gentes dizem: As duas famílias que o Senhor tinha escolhido, foram rejeitadas! É assim que eles desprezam o meu povo, de forma que já o não consideram como uma nação.
25 Thus says the LORD: When I have no covenant with day and night, and have given no laws to heaven and earth,	25 Isto diz o Senhor: Se não fiz a minha aliança com o dia e com a noite, se não dei leis ao céu e à terra,
26 then too will I reject the descendants of Jacob and of my servant David, so as not to take from his descendants rulers for the race of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will change their lot and show them mercy.	26 então também rejeitarei a linhagem de Jacob e de Davide, meu servo, para não tomar da sua geração chefes da estirpe de Abraão, de Isaac e de Jacob. Com efeito quero restabelecê-los e compadecer-me deles.
