Jeremiah 33

1 The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah a second time while he was still imprisoned in the quarters of the guard:	1 La parola del Signore fu nuovamente rivolta a Geremia, mentre stava ancora rinchiuso nel cortile della guardia, in questi termini:
2 Thus says the LORD who made the earth and gave it form and firmness, whose name is LORD:	2 "Così dice il Signore che ha fatto la terra, l'ha plasmata rendendola stabile, il cui nome è Signore:
3 Call to me, and I will answer you; I will tell to you things great beyond reach of your knowledge.	3 Chiamami, e io ti risponderò e ti annunzierò cose grandi e impenetrabili che tu non conosci.
4 Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city and the palaces of Judah's kings, which are being destroyed in the face of siegeworks and the sword:	4 Sì, così dice il Signore, Dio d'Israele, riguardo alle case di questa città e riguardo alle case dei re di Giuda che saranno distrutte dai terrapieni e dalla spada
5 men come to battle the Chaldeans, and these houses will be filled with the corpses of those whom I slay in my anger and wrath, when I hide my face from this city for all their wickedness.	5 dei Caldei venuti a combattere, per riempirle con i cadaveri degli uomini che io avrò colpito nella mia ira e nel mio furore, perché io ho nascosto la mia faccia da questa città a causa di tutta la loro malvagità.
6 Behold, I will treat and assuage the city's wounds; I will heal them, and reveal to them an abundance of lasting peace.	6 Ecco: io farò rimarginare la loro ferita, avrò cura e li guarirò; li inonderò con abbondanza di pace e di sicurezza.
7 I will change the lot of Judah and the lot of Israel, and rebuild them as of old.	7 Farò ritornare gli esiliati di Giuda e gli esiliati d'Israele e li riedificherò come al principio.
8 I will cleanse them of all the guilt they incurred by sinning against me; all their offenses by which they sinned and rebelled against me, I will forgive.	8 Li purificherò da ogni loro iniquità con la quale peccarono contro di me e perdonerò tutte le loro iniquità con le quali si ribellarono a me.
9 Then Jerusalem shall be my joy, my praise, my glory, before all the nations of the earth, as they hear of all the good I will do among them. They shall be in fear and trembling over all the peaceful benefits I will give her.	9 E diverrà per me motivo di gioia, di lode e di gloria davanti ad ogni nazione della terra, quando apprenderanno tutto il bene che io procurerò loro; allora temeranno e tremeranno a causa di tutto il bene e di tutta la pace che io procurerò a lei".
10 Thus says the LORD: In this place of which you say, "How desolate it is, without man, without beast!" and in the cities of Judah, in the streets of Jerusalem that are now deserted, without man, without citizen, without beast, there shall yet be heard	10 Così dice il Signore: "In questo luogo, del quale voi dite: "E' una rovina, senza uomini e senza bestiame; per i monti di Giuda e per le vie di Gerusalemme, devastate, non ci sono uomini e non ci sono abitanti né bestiame", si sentirà ancora
11 the cry of joy, the cry of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, the voice of the bride, the sound of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the LORD, singing, "Give thanks to the LORD of hosts, for the LORD is good; his mercy endures forever." For I will restore this country as of old, says the LORD.	11 voce di gioia e voce di letizia, voce di sposo e voce di sposa, voce di chi dice, portando sacrifici di lode nella casa del Signore: "Lodate il Signore degli eserciti, poiché è buono il Signore, poiché è eterna la sua misericordia!". Sì, io riporterò gli esiliati dal paese come in principio", dice il Signore.
12 Thus says the LORD of hosts: In this place, now desolate, without man or beast, and in all its cities there shall again be sheepfolds for the shepherds to couch their flocks.	12 Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: "Ancora ci sarà in questo luogo distrutto, senza uomo e senza bestiame, e in tutte le sue città, pascolo per i pastori che fanno riposare le pecore.
13 In the cities of the hill country, of the foothills, and of the Negeb, in the land of Benjamin and the suburbs of Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, flocks will again pass under the hands of the one who counts them, says the LORD.	13 Per tutte le città della montagna, per le città della Sefèla e per le città del Negheb, nel territorio di Beniamino e nei dintorni di Gerusalemme e per le città di Giuda passeranno ancora le pecore sotto la mano di chi le numera", dice il Signore.
14 The days are coming, says the LORD, when I will fulfill the promise I made to the house of Israel and Judah.	14 "Ecco che stanno per venire giorni, dice il Signore, nei quali io realizzerò questa parola di felicità che ho pronunciato in favore della casa d'Israele e in favore della casa di Giuda.
15 In those days, in that time, I will raise up for David a just shoot; he shall do what is right and just in the land.	15 In quei giorni e in quel tempo farò sbocciare per Davide un germe di giustizia che opererà diritto e giustizia nel paese.
16 In those days Judah shall be safe and Jerusalem shall dwell secure; this is what they shall call her: "The LORD our justice."	16 In quel giorno sarà salvato Giuda e Gerusalemme abiterà fiduciosamente. Essa sarà chiamata: "Il Signore-giustizia-nostra".
17 For thus says the LORD: Never shall David lack a successor on the throne of the house of Israel,	17 Infatti così dice il Signore: "Non mancherà a Davide chi sieda sul trono della casa d'Israele;
18 nor shall priests of Levi ever be lacking, to offer holocausts before me, to burn cereal offerings, and to sacrifice victims.This word of the LORD also came to Jeremiah:	18 e ai sacerdoti leviti non mancherà alcuno dinanzi a me che offra olocausto, che faccia salire il profumo di un'offerta e compia sacrificio ogni giorno".
19 Thus says the LORD:	19 La parola del Signore fu rivolta a Geremia in questi termini:
20 If you can break my covenant with day, and my covenant with night, so that day and night no longer alternate in sequence,	20 "Così dice il Signore: Se si potesse violare la mia alleanza con il giorno e la mia alleanza con la notte, cosicché non ci sia più giorno e notte al loro tempo,
21 then can my covenant with my servant David also be broken, so that he will not have a son to be king upon his throne, and my covenant with the priests of Levi who minister to me.	21 allora cesserebbe anche la mia alleanza con Davide, mio servo, cosicché non ci sia per lui un figlio che regni sul suo trono, e anche con i leviti sacerdoti miei ministri.
22 Like the host of heaven which cannot be numbered, and the sands of the sea which cannot be counted, I will multiply the descendants of my servant David and the Levites who minister to me.	22 Come non si può contare l'esercito del cielo e non si può misurare la sabbia del mare, così moltiplicherò la discendenza di Davide, mio servo, e i leviti miei ministri".
23 This word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:	23 La parola del Signore fu ancora rivolta a Geremia in questi termini:
24 Have you not noticed what these people are saying: "The LORD has rejected the two tribes which he had chosen"? They spurn my people as if it were no longer a nation in their eyes.	24 "Non hai tu costatato ciò che questo popolo ha affermato dicendo: "Le due famiglie che aveva elette, il Signore le ha anche annientate"? Così disprezzano il mio popolo, quasi non fosse una nazione dinanzi a loro".
25 Thus says the LORD: When I have no covenant with day and night, and have given no laws to heaven and earth,	25 Così dice il Signore: "Se non esistesse la mia alleanza con il giorno e la notte, se non avessi stabilito leggi con il cielo e con la terra,
26 then too will I reject the descendants of Jacob and of my servant David, so as not to take from his descendants rulers for the race of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will change their lot and show them mercy.	26 anche la stirpe di Giacobbe e di Davide, mio servo, rigetterei, così che io non prenda dalla sua discendenza dei dominatori sulla progenie di Abramo, Isacco e Giacobbe. Ma io farò ritornare i loro esiliati e ne avrò compassione".
