NEW AMERICAN BIBLE | NOVA VULGATA |
---|---|
A prayer of David. Hear, LORD, my plea for justice; pay heed to my cry; Listen to my prayer spoken without guile. | 1 Precatio. David. Exaudi, Domine, iustitiam meam, intende deprecationem meam. Auribus percipe orationem meam, non in labiis dolosis. |
From you let my vindication come; your eyes see what is right. | 2 De vultu tuo iudicium meum prodeat; oculi tui videant aequitates. |
You have tested my heart, searched it in the night. You have tried me by fire, but find no malice in me. My mouth has not transgressed | 3 Proba cor meum et visita nocte; igne me examina, et non invenies in me iniquitatem. |
as humans often do. As your lips have instructed me, I have kept the way of the law. | 4 Non transgreditur os meum ad opera hominum, propter verba labiorum tuorum custodivi me a viis violenti. |
My steps have kept to your paths; my feet have not faltered. | 5 Retine gressus meos in semitis tuis, ut non moveantur vestigia mea. |
I call upon you; answer me, O God. Turn your ear to me; hear my prayer. | 6 Ego ad te clamavi, quoniam exaudis me, Deus; inclina aurem tuam mihi et exaudi verba mea. |
Show your wonderful love, you who deliver with your right arm those who seek refuge from their foes. | 7 Mirifica misericordias tuas, qui salvos facis ab insurgentibus sperantes in dextera tua. |
Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings | 8 Custodi me ut pupillam oculi, sub umbra alarum tuarum protege me |
from the violence of the wicked. | 9 a facie impiorum, qui me afflixerunt. Inimici mei in furore circumdederunt me, |
My ravenous enemies press upon me; they close their hearts, they fill their mouths with proud roaring. | 10 adipem suum concluserunt; os eorum locutum est superbiam. |
Their steps even now encircle me; they watch closely, keeping low to the ground, | 11 Incedentes nunc circumdederunt me, oculos suos statuerunt prosternere in terram. |
Like lions eager for prey, like young lions lurking in ambush. | 12 Aspectus eorum quasi leonis parati ad praedam et sicut catuli leonis recubantis in abditis. |
Rise, O LORD, confront and cast them down; rescue me so from the wicked. | 13 Exsurge, Domine, praeveni eum, supplanta eum; eripe animam meam ab impio framea tua, |
Slay them with your sword; with your hand, LORD, slay them; snatch them from the world in their prime. Their bellies are being filled with your friends; their children are satisfied too, for they share what is left with their young. | 14 a mortuis manu tua, Domine, a mortuis, quorum defecit portio vitae. De reconditis tuis adimpleas ventrem eorum, saturentur filii et dimittant reliquias parvulis suis. |
I am just--let me see your face; when I awake, let me be filled with your presence. | 15 Ego autem in iustitia videbo faciem tuam; satiabor, cum evigilavero, conspectu tuo. |
