1 Then the LORD said to Noah: "Go into the ark, you and all your household, for you alone in this age have I found to be truly just.	1 E il Signore gli disse: «Entra nell'arca tu e tutta la tua famiglia, poiché t'ho veduto giusto nel mio cospetto, in mezzo a questa generazione.
2 Of every clean animal, take with you seven pairs, a male and its mate; and of the unclean animals, one pair, a male and its mate;	2 Di tutti gli animali puri ne prenderai sette coppie, maschio e femmina; e degli animali impuri una coppia, maschio e femmina.
3 likewise, of every clean bird of the air, seven pairs, a male and a female, and of all the unclean birds, one pair, a male and a female. Thus you will keep their issue alive over all the earth.	3 E parimenti degli uccelli dell'aria ne prenderai sette coppie, maschio e femmina, affinchè se ne conservi la razza sulla faccia di tutta la terra.
4 Seven days from now I will bring rain down on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and so I will wipe out from the surface of the earth every moving creature that I have made."	4 Perchè di qui a sette giorni farò piovere sulla terra per quaranta giorni e quaranta notti; e sterminerò dalla faccia della terra tutti gli esseri che ho fatto ».
5 Noah did just as the LORD had commanded him.	5 Fece adunque Noè tutto quello che il Signore gli aveva comandato.
6 Noah was six hundred years old when the flood waters came upon the earth.	6 Egli aveva seicento anni quando le acque del diluvio inondarono la terra.
7 Together with his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives, Noah went into the ark because of the waters of the flood.	7 E Noè coi suoi figlioli e colla sua moglie e colle mogli dei suoi figlioli, entrò nell'arca per scampare dalle acque del diluvio.
8 Of the clean animals and the unclean, of the birds, and of everything that creeps on the ground,	8 E degli animali puri e impuri, degli uccelli, di ciò che si muove sopra la terra,
9 (two by two) male and female entered the ark with Noah, just as the LORD had commanded him.	9 ogni coppia, maschio e femmina, venne a Noè nell'arca, come il Signore aveva comandato a Noè.
10 As soon as the seven days were over, the waters of the flood came upon the earth.	10 E passati i sette giorni, le acque del diluvio inondarono la terra.
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month: it was on that day that All the fountains of the great abyss burst forth, and the floodgates of the sky were opened.	11 L'anno seicentesimo della vita di Noè, il secondo mese, di diciassette del mese, eruppero tutte le sorgenti del grande abisso e si aprirono le cateratte del cielo,
12 For forty days and forty nights heavy rain poured down on the earth.	12 e piovve sopra la terra per quaranta giorni e quaranta notti.
13 On the precise day named, Noah and his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of Noah's sons had entered the ark,	13 In quello stesso giorno Noè e Sem e Cam e Iafet, suoi figlioli, la sua moglie e le tre mogli dei suoi figlioli entrarono nell'arca,
14 together with every kind of wild beast, every kind of domestic animal, every kind of creeping thing of the earth, and every kind of bird.	14 e con essi ogni animale selvatico secondo la sua specie, ed ogni animale domestico secondo la sua specie, e tutto ciò che striscia sulla terra, secondo la sua specie, e tutti i volatili, secondo la loro specie, e tutti gli uccelli, e tutto ciò che porta ali
15 Pairs of all creatures in which there was the breath of life entered the ark with Noah.	15 entrarono da Noè nell'arca, a due a due, per ogni specie d'animali in cui è l'alito deila vita.
16 Those that entered were male and female, and of all species they came, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.	16 E gli animali che entrarono erano il maschio e la femmina d'ogni specie, come il Signore aveva ordinato a Noè, che poi dal Signore fu chiuso nell'arca dal di fuori.
17 The flood continued upon the earth for forty days. As the waters increased, they lifted the ark, so that it rose above the earth.	17 E sopra la terra precipitò il diluvio per quaranta giorni, e le acque crebbero e sollevarono l'arca a grande altezza da terra,
18 The swelling waters increased greatly, but the ark floated on the surface of the waters.	18 Immane fu l'inondazione delle acque che ricoprirono ogni cosa sulla superfìcie della terra; ma l'arca galleggiava sopra le acque.
19 Higher and higher above the earth rose the waters, until all the highest mountains everywhere were submerged,	19 E le acque si alzarono oltremodo sopra la terra, da rimanerne coperti tutti gli alti monti che sono sotto tutto quanto il cielo.
20 the crest rising fifteen cubits higher than the submerged mountains.	20 Quindici cubiti si alzarono le acque sopra i monti che avevan ricoperti.
21 All creatures that stirred on earth perished: birds, cattle, wild animals, and all that swarmed on the earth, as well as all mankind.	21 E perì ogni vivente che si moveva sulla terra: uccelli, animali, fiere, tutti i rettili che striscian sulla terra, tutti gli uomini:
22 Everything on dry land with the faintest breath of life in its nostrils died out.	22 morì tutto quello che ha vita e respira sulla terra.
23 The LORD wiped out every living thing on earth: man and cattle, the creeping things and the birds of the air; all were wiped out from the earth. Only Noah and those with him in the ark were left.	23 E fu sterminato ogni essere che era sulla terra; dall'uomo alle bestie, ai rettili, agli uccelli dell'aria. Tutto fu sterminato dalla terra, e non scampò che Noè e quelli che eran con lui nell'arca.
24 The waters maintained their crest over the earth for one hundred and fifty days,	24 E le acque copriron la terra per cento cinquanta giorni.
