1 Then the LORD said to Noah: "Go into the ark, you and all your household, for you alone in this age have I found to be truly just.	1 Il Signore disse a Noè: "Entra nell'arca tu e tutta la tua famiglia, poiché ti ho visto giusto dinanzi a me, in questa generazione.
2 Of every clean animal, take with you seven pairs, a male and its mate; and of the unclean animals, one pair, a male and its mate;	2 D'ogni animale puro prendine sette coppie, maschio e femmina; invece dell'animale impuro una coppia: maschio e femmina;
3 likewise, of every clean bird of the air, seven pairs, a male and a female, and of all the unclean birds, one pair, a male and a female. Thus you will keep their issue alive over all the earth.	3 anche degli uccelli del cielo sette coppie, maschio e femmina, sicché la razza sopravviva sulla faccia di tutta la terra;
4 Seven days from now I will bring rain down on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and so I will wipe out from the surface of the earth every moving creature that I have made."	4 perché fra sette giorni io farò piovere sulla terra per quaranta giorni e quaranta notti e sterminerò dalla superficie della terra ogni creatura che ho fatto".
5 Noah did just as the LORD had commanded him.	5 Noè fece tutto come il Signore aveva ordinato.
6 Noah was six hundred years old when the flood waters came upon the earth.	6 Noè aveva seicento anni, quando avvenne il diluvio delle acque sulla terra.
7 Together with his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives, Noah went into the ark because of the waters of the flood.	7 Entrò dunque Noè e i suoi figli, sua moglie e le mogli dei suoi figli nell'arca per sottrarsi alle acque del diluvio.
8 Of the clean animals and the unclean, of the birds, and of everything that creeps on the ground,	8 Degli animali puri e degli animali impuri, dei volatili e di tutti gli esseri che strisciano sul suolo
9 (two by two) male and female entered the ark with Noah, just as the LORD had commanded him.	9 vennero, a due a due, da Noè nell'arca, maschio e femmina, come Dio aveva comandato a Noè.
10 As soon as the seven days were over, the waters of the flood came upon the earth.	10 E avvenne, al settimo giorno, che le acque del diluvio furono sopra la terra;
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month: it was on that day that All the fountains of the great abyss burst forth, and the floodgates of the sky were opened.	11 nell'anno seicentesimo della vita di Noè, nel secondo mese, nel diciassettesimo giorno del mese, proprio in quel giorno, eruppero tutte le sorgenti del grande oceano e le cateratte del cielo si aprirono.
12 For forty days and forty nights heavy rain poured down on the earth.	12 E la pioggia cadde sulla terra per quaranta giorni e quaranta notti.
13 On the precise day named, Noah and his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of Noah's sons had entered the ark,	13 In quello stesso giorno entrarono nell'arca Noè e Sem, Cam e Iafet, figli di Noè, e la moglie di Noè e le tre mogli dei suoi tre figli;
14 together with every kind of wild beast, every kind of domestic animal, every kind of creeping thing of the earth, and every kind of bird.	14 essi insieme a tutte le fiere, secondo la loro specie, e tutto il bestiame, secondo la sua specie, e tutti i rettili che strisciano sulla terra, secondo la loro specie, e tutti i volatili, secondo la loro specie, uccelli tutti alati.
15 Pairs of all creatures in which there was the breath of life entered the ark with Noah.	15 Vennero dunque a Noè nell'arca, a due a due, di ogni carne in cui è il soffio di vita.
16 Those that entered were male and female, and of all species they came, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.	16 E quelli che venivano, maschio e femmina d'ogni carne, entrarono come Dio gli aveva comandato; poi il Signore chiuse la porta dietro di lui.
17 The flood continued upon the earth for forty days. As the waters increased, they lifted the ark, so that it rose above the earth.	17 Il diluvio venne sopra la terra per quaranta giorni: le acque ingrossarono e sollevarono l'arca che si alzò sopra la terra;
18 The swelling waters increased greatly, but the ark floated on the surface of the waters.	18 e le acque divennero poderose e ingrossarono assai sopra la terra e l'arca galleggiava sulla superficie delle acque.
19 Higher and higher above the earth rose the waters, until all the highest mountains everywhere were submerged,	19 E le acque aumentarono sempre più sopra la terra e coprirono tutti i più alti monti che sono sotto tutto il cielo.
20 the crest rising fifteen cubits higher than the submerged mountains.	20 Di quindici cubiti di altezza le acque superarono e copersero i monti.
21 All creatures that stirred on earth perished: birds, cattle, wild animals, and all that swarmed on the earth, as well as all mankind.	21 E perì ogni carne strisciante sulla terra: volatili, bestiame e fiere e tutti gli esseri brulicanti sulla terra e tutti gli uomini,
22 Everything on dry land with the faintest breath of life in its nostrils died out.	22 ogni essere che ha un alito, uno spirito di vita nelle sue narici, fra tutto ciò che è sulla terra asciutta, morì.
23 The LORD wiped out every living thing on earth: man and cattle, the creeping things and the birds of the air; all were wiped out from the earth. Only Noah and those with him in the ark were left.	23 Così fu sterminata ogni creatura esistente sulla faccia del suolo, dagli uomini agli animali domestici, ai rettili e agli uccelli del cielo: essi furono sterminati dalla terra e rimase solo Noè e chi stava con lui nell'arca.
24 The waters maintained their crest over the earth for one hundred and fifty days,	24 Le acque si mantennero sopra la terra per centocinquanta giorni.
