LXXKING JAMES BIBLE
προφασεις ζητει ανηρ βουλομενος χωριζεσθαι απο φιλων εν παντι δε καιρω επονειδιστος εσται1 Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.
ου χρειαν εχει σοφιας ενδεης φρενων μαλλον γαρ αγεται αφροσυνη2 A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.
οταν ελθη ασεβης εις βαθος κακων καταφρονει επερχεται δε αυτω ατιμια και ονειδος3 When the wicked cometh, then cometh also contempt, and with ignominy reproach.
υδωρ βαθυ λογος εν καρδια ανδρος ποταμος δε αναπηδυει και πηγη ζωης4 The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.
θαυμασαι προσωπον ασεβους ου καλον ουδε οσιον εκκλινειν το δικαιον εν κρισει5 It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment.
χειλη αφρονος αγουσιν αυτον εις κακα το δε στομα αυτου το θρασυ θανατον επικαλειται6 A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.
στομα αφρονος συντριβη αυτω τα δε χειλη αυτου παγις τη ψυχη αυτου7 A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.
οκνηρους καταβαλλει φοβος ψυχαι δε ανδρογυνων πεινασουσιν8 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
ο μη ιωμενος εαυτον εν τοις εργοις αυτου αδελφος εστιν του λυμαινομενου εαυτον9 He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.
εκ μεγαλωσυνης ισχυος ονομα κυριου αυτω δε προσδραμοντες δικαιοι υψουνται10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
υπαρξις πλουσιου ανδρος πολις οχυρα η δε δοξα αυτης μεγα επισκιαζει11 The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.
προ συντριβης υψουται καρδια ανδρος και προ δοξης ταπεινουται12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.
ος αποκρινεται λογον πριν ακουσαι αφροσυνη αυτω εστιν και ονειδος13 He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.
θυμον ανδρος πραυνει θεραπων φρονιμος ολιγοψυχον δε ανδρα τις υποισει14 The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?
καρδια φρονιμου κταται αισθησιν ωτα δε σοφων ζητει εννοιαν15 The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.
δομα ανθρωπου εμπλατυνει αυτον και παρα δυνασταις καθιζανει αυτον16 A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.
δικαιος εαυτου κατηγορος εν πρωτολογια ως δ' αν επιβαλη ο αντιδικος ελεγχεται17 He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him.
αντιλογιας παυει κληρος εν δε δυνασταις οριζει18 The lot causeth contentions to cease, and parteth between the mighty.
αδελφος υπο αδελφου βοηθουμενος ως πολις οχυρα και υψηλη ισχυει δε ωσπερ τεθεμελιωμενον βασιλειον19 A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.
απο καρπων στοματος ανηρ πιμπλησιν κοιλιαν αυτου απο δε καρπων χειλεων αυτου εμπλησθησεται20 A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
θανατος και ζωη εν χειρι γλωσσης οι δε κρατουντες αυτης εδονται τους καρπους αυτης21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
ος ευρεν γυναικα αγαθην ευρεν χαριτας ελαβεν δε παρα θεου ιλαροτητα [22α] ος εκβαλλει γυναικα αγαθην εκβαλλει τα αγαθα ο δε κατεχων μοιχαλιδα αφρων και ασεβης22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.
The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.
A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
