KING JAMES BIBLENOVA VULGATA
And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.1 Et ego, fratres, non potui vobis loqui quasi spiritalibus sed qua sicarnalibus, tamquam parvulis in Christo.
I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.2 Lac vobis potum dedi, non escam,nondum enim poteratis. Sed ne nunc quidem potestis,
For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?3 adhuc enim estis carnales.Cum enim sit inter vos zelus et contentio, nonne carnales estis et secundumhominem ambulatis?
For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?4 Cum enim quis dicit: “ Ego quidem sum Pauli ”, alius autem: “ Ego Apollo”, nonne homines estis?
Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?5 Quid igitur est Apollo? Quid vero Paulus? Ministri,per quos credidistis, et unicuique sicut Dominus dedit.
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.6 Ego plantavi, Apollorigavit, sed Deus incrementum dedit;
So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.7 itaque neque qui plantat, est aliquid,neque qui rigat, sed qui incrementum dat, Deus.
Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.8 Qui plantat autem et qui rigatunum sunt; unusquisque autem propriam mercedem accipiet secundum suum laborem.
For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.9 Dei enim sumus adiutores: Dei agri cultura estis, Dei aedificatio estis.
According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.10 Secundum gratiam Dei, quae data est mihi, ut sapiens architectus fundamentumposui; alius autem superaedificat. Unusquisque autem videat quomodosuperaedificet;
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.11 fundamentum enim aliud nemo potest ponere praeter id, quodpositum est, qui est Iesus Christus.
Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;12 Si quis autem superaedificat suprafundamentum aurum, argentum, lapides pretiosos, ligna, fenum, stipulam,
Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.13 uniuscuiusque opus manifestum erit; dies enim declarabit: quia in ignerevelatur, et uniuscuiusque opus quale sit ignis probabit.
If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.14 Si cuius opusmanserit, quod superaedificavit, mercedem accipiet;
If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.15 si cuius opus arserit,detrimentum patietur, ipse autem salvus erit, sic tamen quasi per ignem.
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?16 Nescitis quia templum Dei estis, et Spiritus Dei habitat in vobis?
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.17 Si quisautem templum Dei everterit, evertet illum Deus; templum enim Dei sanctum est,quod estis vos.
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.18 Nemo se seducat; si quis videtur sapiens esse inter vos in hoc saeculo,stultus fiat, ut sit sapiens.
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.19 Sapientia enim huius mundi stultitia est apudDeum. Scriptum est enim:
“ Qui apprehendit sapientes in astutia eorum ”;
And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.20 et iterum:
“ Dominus novit cogitationes sapientium,
quoniam vanae sunt ”.
Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;21 Itaque nemo glorietur in hominibus. Omnia enim vestra sunt,
Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;22 sive Paulussive Apollo sive Cephas sive mundus sive vita sive mors sive praesentia sivefutura, omnia enim vestra sunt,
And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.23 vos autem Christi, Christus autem Dei.
