1 Corinthians 12

1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.	1 Riguardo ai doni dello Spirito, o fratelli, non voglio che restiate nell'ignoranza.
2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.	2 Sapete che quando eravate pagani vi lasciavate trasportare verso gli idoli muti secondo l'ispirazione del momento.
3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.	3 Perciò vi dichiaro che nessuno, mosso dallo Spirito di Dio, può dire: "Maledizione a Gesù", e nessuno può dire: "Gesù Signore", se non in virtù dello Spirito Santo.
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.	4 C'è poi varietà di doni, ma un solo Spirito;
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.	5 c'è varietà di ministeri, ma un solo Signore;
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.	6 c'è varietà di operazioni, ma un solo Dio, che opera tutto in tutti.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.	7 E a ciascuno è data la manifestazione dello Spirito per l'utilità comune:
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;	8 a uno viene data, dallo Spirito, parola di sapienza; a un altro, invece, mediante lo stesso Spirito, parola di scienza;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;	9 a uno la fede, per lo stesso Spirito; a un altro il dono delle guarigioni nell'identico Spirito;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:	10 a uno il potere dei prodigi; a un altro il dono della profezia; a un altro il discernimento degli spiriti; a un altro la varietà delle lingue; a un altro l'interpretazione delle lingue.
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.	11 Ma tutte queste cose le opera il medesimo e identico Spirito, distribuendole a ciascuno come vuole.
12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.	12 Come il corpo, pur essendo uno, ha molte membra, e tutte le membra, pur essendo molte, sono un corpo solo, così anche il Cristo.
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.	13 Siamo stati infatti battezzati tutti in un solo Spirito per formare un corpo solo, sia Giudei sia Greci, sia schiavi sia liberi; e tutti siamo stati abbeverati nel medesimo Spirito.
14 For the body is not one member, but many.	14 Ora, il corpo non risulta di un membro solo, ma di molte membra.
15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?	15 Se il piede dicesse: "Siccome io non sono mano, non appartengo al corpo", non per questo non farebbe parte del corpo.
16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?	16 E se l'orecchio dicesse: "Siccome io non sono occhio, non appartengo al corpo", non per questo non farebbe parte del corpo.
17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?	17 Se il corpo fosse tutto occhio, dove sarebbe l'udito? Se fosse tutto udito, dove l'odorato?
18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.	18 Ma Dio ha disposto le membra in modo distinto nel corpo, come ha voluto.
19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?	19 Che se tutto fosse un membro solo, dove sarebbe il corpo?
20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.	20 Invece molte sono le membra, ma uno solo è il corpo.
21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.	21 E l'occhio non può dire alla mano: "Non ho bisogno di te"; né la testa ai piedi: "Non ho bisogno di voi".
22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:	22 Ché, anzi, quelle membra del corpo che sembrano più deboli sono più necessarie;
23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.	23 e quelle che riteniamo più ignobili le circondiamo di maggior rispetto, e quelle indecorose ricevono più riguardo,
24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:	24 mentre quelle decorose non ne hanno bisogno. Ma Dio ha contemperato il corpo, conferendo maggiore onore a chi ne mancava,
25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.	25 perché non vi fosse disunione nel corpo, ma le membra cooperassero al bene vicendevole.
26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.	26 Quindi se un membro soffre, tutte le membra ne soffrono; se un membro è onorato, tutte le membra gioiscono con lui.
27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.	27 Ora voi siete corpo di Cristo e sue membra, ciascuno in particolare.
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.	28 Alcuni sono stati posti da Dio nella Chiesa al primo grado come apostoli, al secondo come profeti, al terzo come dottori; poi vengono i prodigi, poi i doni di guarigione, quelli che hanno il dono dell'assistenza, del governo, delle lingue.
29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?	29 Sono forse tutti apostoli? Tutti profeti? Tutti dottori? Tutti operatori di prodigi?
30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?	30 Tutti possiedono doni di guarigione? Tutti parlano in lingue? Tutti fanno da interpreti?
31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.	31 Voi, però, aspirate ai doni maggiori. Ora io vi addito una via ancora più eccellente.
