¹ LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.	¹ Ein Psalm Davids, als er vor seinem Sohne Absalom floh.
² Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.	² Ach HERR, wie sind doch meine Bedränger so zahlreich,wie viele erheben sich gegen mich!
³ But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.	³ Gar viele sagen von mir: »Es gibt keine Rettung (oder: Hilfe) für ihn bei Gott!« SELA.
⁴ I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.	⁴ Doch du, o HERR, bist ein Schild um mich her,meine Ehre und der mir das Haupt erhebt.
⁵ I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.	⁵ Laut ruf’ ich zum HERRN,und er erhört mich von seinem heiligen Berge. SELA.
⁶ I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.	⁶ Ich legte mich nieder, schlief ruhig ein:erwacht bin ich wieder, denn der HERR stützt mich (= hält mich aufrecht).
⁷ Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.	⁷ Ich fürchte mich nicht vor vielen Tausenden Kriegsvolks,die rings um mich her sich gelagert haben (oder: Aufstellung nehmen).
⁸ Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.	⁸ Steh auf, o HERR! Hilf mir, mein Gott!Du hast ja all meinen Feinden Backenstreiche versetzt,den Gottlosen die Zähne zerschmettert.
	⁹ Beim HERRN steht die Hilfe (oder: Rettung): über deinem Volke walte dein Segen! SELA.
