KING JAMES BIBLE | DOUAI-RHEIMS |
---|---|
Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say: | 1 Blessed are all they that fear the Lord: that walk in his ways. |
Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me. | 2 For thou shalt eat the labours of thy hands: blessed art thou, and it shall be well with thee. |
The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows. | 3 Thy wife as a fruitful vine, on the sides of thy house. |
The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked. | 4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord. |
Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion. | 5 May the Lord bless thee out of Sion: and mayest thou see the good things of Jerusalem all the days of thy life. |
Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up: | 6 And mayest thou see thy children's children, peace upon Israel. |
Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom. | |
Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD. |
