Psalms 12

KING JAMES BIBLE	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.	1 Del maestro de coro. En octava. Salmo de David.
2 They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.	2 ¡Sálvanos, Señor, porque ya no hay gente buena, ha desaparecido la lealtad entre los hombres!
3 The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:	3 No hacen más que mentirse unos a otros, hablan con labios engañosos y doblez de corazón.
4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?	4 Que el Señor elimine los labios engañosos y las lenguas jactanciosas de los que dicen:
5 For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.	5 «En la lengua está nuestra fuerza; nuestros labios no defienden, ¿quién nos dominará?».
6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.	6 «Por los sollozos del humilde y los gemidos del pobre, ahora me levantaré –dice el Señor– y daré mi ayuda al que suspira por ella».
7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.	7 Las promesas del Señor son sinceras como plata purificada en el crisol, depurada siete veces.
8 The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.	8 Tú nos protegerás, Señor, nos preservarás para siempre de esa gente;
	9 por todas partes merodean los malvados y se encumbran los hombres más indignos.
