Psalms 12

1 Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.	1 Del maestro de coro. En octava. Salmo. De David.
2 They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.	2 ¡Salva, Yahveh, que ya no hay fieles, se acabaron los veraces entre los hijos de Adán!
3 The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:	3 Falsedad sólo dicen, cada cual a su prójimo, labios de engaño, lenguaje de corazones dobles.
4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?	4 Arranque Yahveh todo labio tramposo, la lengua que profiere bravatas,
5 For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.	5 los que dicen: «La lengua es nuestro fuerte, nuestros labios por nosotros, ¿quien va a ser amo nuestro?»
6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.	6 Por la opresión de los humildes, por el gemido de los pobres, ahora me alzo yo, dice Yahveh: auxilio traigo a quien por él suspira.
7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.	7 Las palabras de Yahveh son palabras sinceras, plata pura, de ras de tierra, siete veces purgada.
8 The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.	8 Tú, Yahveh, los guardarás, los librarás de esta ralea para siempre;
	9 de todas partes se irán los impíos, colmo de vileza entre los hijos de Adán.
