Job 35

KING JAMES BIBLE	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Elihu spake moreover, and said,	1 Elihú tomó la palabra y dijo:
2 Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?	2 ¿Piensas que estás en tu derecho, al decir: «Soy más justo que Dios»?
3 For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?	3 Porque tú dices: «¿De qué me sirve, qué gano yo con no pecar?».
4 I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.	4 Pero yo te dará una respuesta, a ti y a tus amigos contigo.
5 Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.	5 Mira hacia el cielo y contempla, observa las nubes: ¡son más altas que tú!
6 If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?	6 Si pecas, ¿qué daño le causas? Con tus muchas rebeldías, ¿qué le puedes hacer?
7 If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?	7 Si eres justo, ¿qué le das o qué recibe él de tu mano?
8 Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.	8 ¡A un hombre como tú afecta tu maldad, y tu justicia, a un simple mortal!
9 By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.	9 Se grita bajo el peso de la opresión, se pide auxilio contra el brazo de los poderosos.
10 But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;	10 Pero nadie dice: «¿Dónde está Dios, mi Creador, el que hace resonar cantos en la noche,
11 Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?	11 el que nos instruye más que a las bestias de la tierra y nos hace más sabios que a los pájaros del cielo?».
12 There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.	12 Entonces, por más que griten, él no responde, a causa del orgullo de los malvados.
13 Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.	13 ¡No, Dios no escucha las cosas vanas, el Todopoderoso no se da por aludido!
14 Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.	14 Menos aún cuando tú dices que no lo ves, que hay un juicio pendiente ante él, y que tú lo esperas.
15 But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:	15 Y ahora, porque su enojo no castiga y él no tiene muy en cuenta las rebeldías,
16 Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.	16 Job ha abierto su boca en vano, y es por ignorancia que se excede en el hablar.
