1 The great king Artexerxes unto the princes and governors of an hundred and seven and twenty provinces from India unto Ethiopia, and unto all our faithful subjects, greeting.	1 Vennero il re e Aman a banchettare con la regina Ester
2 Many, the more often they are honoured with the great bounty of their gracious princes, the more proud they are waxen,	2 e anche il secondo giorno il re disse a Ester, mentre si beveva il vino: "Qual è la tua domanda, regina Ester? Io te la concederò! Qual è la tua richiesta? Fino alla metà del mio regno ti sarà concessa!".
3 And endeavour to hurt not our subjects only, but not being able to bear abundance, do take in hand to practise also against those that do them good:	3 La regina Ester rispose: "Se ho trovato grazia agli occhi del re e se al re sembrerà bene, mi sia concessa la mia vita per la mia domanda, e quella del mio popolo per la mia richiesta.
4 And take not only thankfulness away from among men, but also lifted up with the glorious words of lewd persons, that were never good, they think to escape the justice of God, that seeth all things and hateth evil.	4 Perché siamo stati venduti, io e il mio popolo, per essere sterminati, uccisi e distrutti. Se fossimo stati venduti schiavi e schiave, avrei taciuto; ma il nemico non potrà compensare il danno che ne verrebbe al re".
5 Oftentimes also fair speech of those, that are put in trust to manage their friends' affairs, hath caused many that are in authority to be partakers of innocent blood, and hath enwrapped them in remediless calamities:	5 Il re domandò alla regina Ester: "Chi è e dove sta colui che ha concepito nel suo cuore di fare tal cosa?".
6 Beguiling with the falsehood and deceit of their lewd disposition the innocency and goodness of princes.	6 Ester rispose: "Il persecutore e nemico è questo perfido Aman". Aman fu preso allora da terrore davanti al re e alla regina.
7 Now ye may see this, as we have declared, not so much by ancient histories, as ye may, if ye search what hath been wickedly done of late through the pestilent behaviour of them that are unworthily placed in authority.	7 Il re si alzò pieno d'ira dal banchetto per andare nel giardino del palazzo e Aman restò a supplicare Ester per la sua vita, perché aveva capito che la sua disgrazia era stata decisa dal re.
8 And we must take care for the time to come, that our kingdom may be quiet and peaceable for all men,	8 Il re tornò dal giardino del palazzo nella casa del festino, mentre Aman si era lasciato cadere sul divano su cui stava Ester. Allora il re esclamò: "Si farebbe anche violenza alla regina, in casa mia, nel palazzo?". Un ordine uscì dalla bocca del re e subito velarono il volto di Aman.
9 Both by changing our purposes, and always judging things that are evident with more equal proceeding.	9 Carbonà, uno degli eunuchi, disse al re: "Ecco, c'è il patibolo che Aman aveva preparato per Mardocheo, quello che ha parlato nell'interesse del re; è rizzato nella casa di Aman, alto cinquanta cubiti". Il re disse: "Lo si impicchi su di esso".
10 For Aman, a Macedonian, the son of Amadatha, being indeed a stranger from the Persian blood, and far distant from our goodness, and as a stranger received of us,	10 Impiccarono così Aman sul patibolo che aveva preparato per Mardocheo e l'ira del re si placò.
