Esther 7

KING JAMES BIBLE	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 The great king Artexerxes unto the princes and governors of an hundred and seven and twenty provinces from India unto Ethiopia, and unto all our faithful subjects, greeting.	1 O rei e Amã vieram, pois, ao banquete de Ester.
2 Many, the more often they are honoured with the great bounty of their gracious princes, the more proud they are waxen,	2 No segundo dia, bebendo vinho, disse ainda o rei a Ester: Qual é teu pedido, rainha Ester? Será atendido. Que é que desejas? Fosse mesmo a metade de meu reino, tu obterias.
3 And endeavour to hurt not our subjects only, but not being able to bear abundance, do take in hand to practise also against those that do them good:	3 A rainha respondeu: Se achei graça a teus olhos, ó rei, e se ao rei lhe parecer bem, concede-me a vida, eis o meu pedido; salva meu povo, eis o meu desejo.
4 And take not only thankfulness away from among men, but also lifted up with the glorious words of lewd persons, that were never good, they think to escape the justice of God, that seeth all things and hateth evil.	4 Fomos votados, eu e meu povo, ao extermínio, à morte, ao aniquilamento. Se tivéssemos sido vendidos como escravos, eu me calaria, mas eis que agora o opressor não poderia compensar o prejuízo que causa ao mesmo rei.
5 Oftentimes also fair speech of those, that are put in trust to manage their friends' affairs, hath caused many that are in authority to be partakers of innocent blood, and hath enwrapped them in remediless calamities:	5 Quem é, replicou o rei, e onde está quem maquina tal projeto em seu coração?
6 Beguiling with the falsehood and deceit of their lewd disposition the innocency and goodness of princes.	6 O opressor, o inimigo, disse a rainha, é Amã, eis aí o infame!
7 Now ye may see this, as we have declared, not so much by ancient histories, as ye may, if ye search what hath been wickedly done of late through the pestilent behaviour of them that are unworthily placed in authority.	7 Amã ficou tomado de terror diante do rei e da rainha. O rei, aceso em cólera, levantou-se e deixou o banquete, dirigindo-se ao jardim do palácio, ao passo que Amã permanecia ali, para implorar a Ester o perdão de sua vida, porque via bem que no espírito do rei estava decretada sua perda.
8 And we must take care for the time to come, that our kingdom may be quiet and peaceable for all men,	8 Quando o rei voltou do jardim do palácio para a sala do banquete, viu Amã que se tinha deixado cair sobre o divã em que repousava Ester: Como!, exclamou. Ei-lo que quer fazer violência à rainha em minha casa, em meu palácio! Mal tinha saído essa palavra da boca do rei, quando cobriram a face de Amã.
9 Both by changing our purposes, and always judging things that are evident with more equal proceeding.	9 Harbona, um dos eunucos, disse ao rei. A forca preparada por Amã para Mardoqueu, cuja denúncia em favor do rei tinha sido tão salutar, acha-se levantada na casa de Amã, alta de cinqüenta côvados.- Que o suspendam nela!, exclamou o rei.
10 For Aman, a Macedonian, the son of Amadatha, being indeed a stranger from the Persian blood, and far distant from our goodness, and as a stranger received of us,	10 E suspenderam Amã na forca que tinha preparado para Mardoqueu. Isso acalmou a cólera do rei.
