Esther 7

KING JAMES BIBLE	NOVA VULGATA
1 The great king Artexerxes unto the princes and governors of an hundred and seven and twenty provinces from India unto Ethiopia, and unto all our faithful subjects, greeting.	1 Intravit itaque rex et Aman, ut biberent cum regina.
2 Many, the more often they are honoured with the great bounty of their gracious princes, the more proud they are waxen,	2 Dixitque ei rexetiam in secundo die, postquam vino incaluerat: “ Quae est petitio tua,Esther, ut detur tibi, et quid vis fieri? Etiamsi dimidiam regni mei partempetieris, impetrabis ”.
3 And endeavour to hurt not our subjects only, but not being able to bear abundance, do take in hand to practise also against those that do them good:	3 Ad quem illa respondit: “ Si inveni gratiam inoculis tuis, o rex, et si tibi placet, dona mihi animam meam, pro qua rogo, etpopulum meum, pro quo obsecro.
4 And take not only thankfulness away from among men, but also lifted up with the glorious words of lewd persons, that were never good, they think to escape the justice of God, that seeth all things and hateth evil.	4 Traditi enim sumus, ego et populus meus, utconteramur, iugulemur et pereamus. Atque utinam in servos et famulas venderemur:tacuissem, quia tribulatio haec non esset digna conturbare regem ”.
5 Oftentimes also fair speech of those, that are put in trust to manage their friends' affairs, hath caused many that are in authority to be partakers of innocent blood, and hath enwrapped them in remediless calamities:	5 Respondensque rex Asuerus ait: “ Quis est iste et ubi est, ut haec audeatfacere? ”.
6 Beguiling with the falsehood and deceit of their lewd disposition the innocency and goodness of princes.	6 Dixit Esther: “ Hostis et inimicus noster pessimus iste estAman ”. Quod ille audiens ilico obstupuit coram rege ac regina.
7 Now ye may see this, as we have declared, not so much by ancient histories, as ye may, if ye search what hath been wickedly done of late through the pestilent behaviour of them that are unworthily placed in authority.	7 Rex autem surrexit iratus et de loco convivii intravit in hortum palatii. Amanquoque surrexit, ut rogaret Esther reginam pro anima sua; intellexit enim a regesibi decretum esse malum.
8 And we must take care for the time to come, that our kingdom may be quiet and peaceable for all men,	8 Qui cum reversus esset de horto et intrassetconvivii locum, repperit Aman super lectulum corruisse, in quo iacebat Esther,et ait: “ Etiam reginam vult opprimere, me praesente, in domo mea? ”. Necdumverbum de ore regis exierat, et statim operuerunt faciem eius.
9 Both by changing our purposes, and always judging things that are evident with more equal proceeding.	9 DixitqueHarbona, unus de eunuchis, qui stabant in ministerio regis: “ En etiam lignum,quod paraverat Mardochaeo, qui locutus est bonum pro rege, stat in domo Amanhabens altitudinis quinquaginta cubitos ”. Cui dixit rex: “ Appendite eum ineo ”.
10 For Aman, a Macedonian, the son of Amadatha, being indeed a stranger from the Persian blood, and far distant from our goodness, and as a stranger received of us,	10 Suspensus est itaque Aman in patibulo, quod paraverat Mardochaeo; etregis ira quievit.
