¹ Unto the end, in praises, a psalm for Asaph: a canticle to the Assyrians.	¹ Pour la fin, parmi les louanges, Psaume d'Asaph, cantique sur les Assyriens.
² In Judea God is known: his name is great in Israel.	² Dieu S'est fait connaître en Judée; * Son Nom est grand dans Israël.
³ And his place is in peace: and his abode in Sion:	³ Il a fixé Son séjour dans la ville de paix, * et Sa demeure dans Sion.
⁴ There hath he broken the powers of bows, the shield, the sword, and the battie.	⁴ C'est là qu'Il a brisé toute la force des arcs, * le bouclier, le glaive et la guerre.
⁵ Thou enlightenest wonderfully from the everlasting hills.	⁵ Vous projetez un merveilleux éclat du haut des montagnes éternelles; *
⁶ All the foolish of heart were troubled. They have slept their sleep; and all the men of riches have found nothing in their hands.	⁶ tous ceux dont le coeur était rempli de folie ont été consternés. Ils ont dormi leur sommeil, * et tous ces hommes de richesses n'ont rien trouvé dans leurs mains.
⁷ At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, they have all slumbered that mounted on horseback.	⁷ A Votre menace, ô Dieu de Jacob, * se sont endormis ceux qui étaient montés sur des chevaux.
⁸ Thou art terrible, and who shall resist thee? from that time thy wrath.	⁸ Vous êtes terrible, et qui pourra Vous résister au moment de Votre colère? *
⁹ Thou hast caused judgment to be heard from heaven: the earth trembled and was still,	⁹ Du Ciel, Vous avez fait entendre la sentence; * la terre a tremblé et s'est tue,
¹⁰ When God arose in judgment, to save all the meek of the earth.	¹⁰ lorsque Dieu S'est levé pour rendre justice, * afin de sauver tous ceux qui sont doux sur la terre.
¹¹ For the thought of man shall give praise to thee: and the remainders of the thought shall keep holiday to thee.	¹¹ Aussi la pensée de l'homme Vous louera, * et le souvenir qui lui restera Vous fera fête.
¹² Vow ye, and pay to the Lord your God: all you that are round about him bring presents. To him that is terrible,	¹² Faites des voeux, et acquittez-les au Seigneur votre Dieu, * vous tous qui des alentours apportez des présents à ce Dieu terrible,
¹³ even to him who taketh away the spirit of princes: to the terrible with the kings of the earth.	¹³ qui ôte la vie aux princes, * qui est terrible aux rois de la terre.
