Unto the end, destroy not, for David for an inscription of It title, when Saul sent and watched his house to kill him. | 1 Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me. |
Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; and defend me from them that rise up against me. | 2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men. |
Deliver me from them that work iniquity, and save me from bloody men. | 3 For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD. |
For behold they have caught my soul: the mighty have rushed in upon me: | 4 They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold. |
Neither is it my iniquity, nor my sin, O Lord: without iniquity have I run, and directed my steps. | 5 Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah. |
Rise up thou to meet me, and behold: even thou, O Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel. Attend to visit all the nations: have no mercy on all them that work iniquity. | 6 They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city. |
They shall return at evening, and shall suffer hunger like dogs: and shall go round about the city. | 7 Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear? |
Behold they shall speak with their mouth, and a sword is in their lips: for who, say they, hath heard us ? | 8 But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision. |
But thou, O Lord, shalt laugh at them: thou shalt bring all the nations to nothing. | 9 Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence. |
I will keep my strength to thee: for thou art my protector: | 10 The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies. |
my God, his mercy shall prevent me. | 11 Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield. |
God shall let me see over my enemies: slay them not, lest at any time my people forget. Scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord, my protector: | 12 For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak. |
For the sin of their mouth, and the word of their lips: and let them be taken in their pride. And for their cursing and lying they shall be talked of, | 13 Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah. |
when they are consumed: when they are consumed by thy wrath, and they shall be no more. And they shall know that God will rule Jacob, and all the ends of the earth. | 14 And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city. |
They shall return at evening and shall suffer hunger like dogs: and shall go round about the city. | 15 Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied. |
They shall be scattered abroad to eat, and shall murmur if they be not filled. | 16 But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. |
But I will sing thy strength: and will extol thy mercy in the morning. For thou art become my support, and my refuge, in the day of my trouble. | 17 Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy. |
Unto thee, O my helper, will I sing, for thou art God my defence: my God my mercy. |
