2 when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul David went to the house of Achimelech	2 Quando l’idumeo Doeg andò da Saul per informarlo e dirgli: «Davide è entrato in casa di Achimèlec».
3 Why dost thou glory in malice, thou that art mighty in iniquity?	3 Perché ti vanti del male, o prepotente?Dio è fedele ogni giorno.
4 All the day long thy tongue hath devised injustice: as a sharp razor, thou hast wrought deceit.	4 Tu escogiti insidie;la tua lingua è come lama affilata,o artefice d’inganni!
5 Thou hast loved malice more than goodness: and iniquity rather than to speak righteousness.	5 Tu ami il male invece del bene,la menzogna invece della giustizia.
6 Thou hast loved all the words of ruin, O deceitful tongue.	6 Tu ami ogni parola che distrugge,o lingua d’inganno.
7 Therefore will God destroy thee for ever: he will pluck thee out, and remove thee from thy dwelling place: and thy root out of the land of the living.	7 Perciò Dio ti demolirà per sempre,ti spezzerà e ti strapperà dalla tendae ti sradicherà dalla terra dei viventi.
8 The just shall see and fear, and shall laugh at him, and say:	8 I giusti vedranno e avranno timoree di lui rideranno:
9 Behold the man that made not God his helper: But trusted in the abundance of his riches: and prevailed in his vanity.	9 «Ecco l’uomo che non ha posto Dio come sua fortezza,ma ha confidato nella sua grande ricchezzae si è fatto forte delle sue insidie».
10 But I, as a fruitful olive tree in the house of God, have hoped in the mercy of God for ever, yea for ever and ever.	10 Ma io, come olivo verdeggiante nella casa di Dio,confido nella fedeltà di Dioin eterno e per sempre.
11 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name, for it is good in the sight of thy saints.	11 Voglio renderti grazie in eternoper quanto hai operato;spero nel tuo nome, perché è buono,davanti ai tuoi fedeli.
