DOUAI-RHEIMSKING JAMES BIBLE
Unto the end, a psalm for David. To thee, O Lord, have I lifted up my soul.1 Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
In thee, O my God, I put my trust; let me not be ashamed.2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
Neither let my enemies laugh at me: for none of them that wait on thee shall be confounded.3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
Let all them be confounded that act unjust things without cause. Shew, O Lord, thy ways to me, and teach me thy paths.4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
Direct me in thy truth, and teach me; for thou art God my Saviour; and on thee have I waited all the day long.5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
Remember, O Lord, thy bowels of compassion; and thy mercies that are from the beginning of the world.6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
The sins of my youth and my ignorances do not remember. According to thy mercy remember thou me: for thy goodness' sake, O Lord.7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.
The Lord is sweet and righteous: therefore he will give a law to sinners in the way.8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
He will guide the mild in judgment: he will teach the meek his ways.9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
All the ways of the Lord are mercy and truth, to them that seek after his covenant and his testimonies.10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
For thy name's sake, O Lord, thou wilt pardon my sin: for it is great.11 For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
Who is the man that feareth the Lord? He hath appointed him a law in the way he hath chosen.12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
His soul shall dwell in good things: and his seed shall inherit the land.13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
The Lord is a firmament to them that fear him: and his covenant shall be made manifest to them.14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
My eyes are ever towards the Lord: for he shall pluck my feet out of the snare.15 Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
Look thou upon me, and have mercy on me; for I am alone and poor.16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
The troubles of my heart are multiplied: deliver me from my necessities.17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
See my abjection and my labour; and forgive me all my sins.18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
Consider my enemies for they are multiplied, and have hated me with an unjust hatred.19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
Keep thou my soul, and deliver me: I shall not be ashamed, for I have hoped in thee.20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
The innocent and the upright have adhered to me: because I have waited on thee.21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
Deliver Israel, O God, from all his tribulations.22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
