1 For David himself. Bless the Lord, O my soul: O Lord my God, thou art exceedingly great. Thou hast put on praise and beauty:	1 Louvai o Senhor, aclamai o seu nome, tornai conhecidas as suas obras entre as gentes.
2 and art clothed with light as with a garment. Who stretchest out the heaven like a pavilion:	2 Cantai-lhe, entoai salmos em sua honra, narrai todas as suas maravilhas.
3 who coverest the higher rooms thereof with water. Who makest the clouds thy chariot: who walkest upon the wings of the winds.	3 Gloriai-vos do seu santo nome; alegre-se o coração dos que buscam o Senhor.
4 Who makest thy angels spirits: and thy ministers a burning fire.	4 Meditai no Senhor e no seu poder, buscai sempre a sua face.
5 Who hast founded the earth upon its own bases: it shall not be moved for ever and ever.	5 Lembrai-vos das maravilhas que fez, dos seus prodígios e das sentenças que saíram da sua boca.
6 The deep like a garment is its clothing: above the mountains shall the waters stand.	6 vós, ó descendentes de Abraão, seu servo, vós, ó filhos de Jacob, seu eleito!
7 At thy rebuke they shall flee: at the voice of thy thunder they shall fear.	7 O próprio Senhor é o nosso Deus; os seus juízos exercem-se em toda a terra.
8 The mountains ascend, and the plains descend into the place which thou hast founded for them.	8 Ele lembra-se para sempre da sua aliança, da promessa que fez para mil gerações,
9 Thou hast set a bound which they shall not pass over; neither shall they return to cover the earth.	9 da aliança que firmou com Abraão, do juramento que fez a Isaac,
10 Thou sendest forth springs in the vales: between the midst of the hills the waters shall pass.	10 (juramento) que confirmou a Jacob, como um decreto firme, a Israel, como uma aliança eterna,
11 All the beasts of the field shall drink: the wild asses shall expect in their thirst.	11 dizendo: "Dar-te-ei a terra de Canaan, como porção da vossa herança."
12 Over them the birds of the air shall dwell: from the midst of the rocks they shall give forth their voices.	12 Quando eram poucos em número, pouquíssimos, e estrangeiros naquele país,
13 Thou waterest the hills from thy upper rooms: the earth shall be filled with the fruit of thy works:	13 quando emigravam duma gente para outra, e dum reino para outro povo,
14 Bringing forth grass for cattle, and herb for the service of men. That thou mayst bring bread out of the earth:	14 não permitiu que alguém os oprimisse, e castigou reis por causa deles.
15 and that wine may cheer the heart of man. That he may make the face cheerful with oil: and that bread may strengthen man's heart.	15 "Não toqueis os meus ungidos, não façais nenhum mal aos seus profetas."
16 The trees of the field shall be filled, and the cedars of Libanus which he hath planted:	16 Chamou a fome sobre a terra, fez desaparecer toda a reserva de pão.
17 there the sparrows shall make their nests. The highest of them is the house of the heron.	17 Tinha mandado adiante deles um homem; José tinha sido vendido como escravo.
18 The high hills are a refuge for the harts, the rock for the irchins.	18 Apertaram-lhe os pés com grilhões, o seu pescoço foi ligado com ferros, o ferro (da calúnia) traspassou a sua alma,
19 He hath made the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.	19 até que se cumpriu o seu vaticínio, a palavra do Senhor o comprovou.
20 Thou hast appointed darkness, and it is night: in it shall all the beasts of the woods go about:	20 O rei mandou que o soltassem, o príncipe dos povos deu-lhe a liberdade.
21 The young lions roaring after their prey, and seeking their meat from God.	21 Constituiu-o senhor da sua casa, e soberano de todas as suas possessões,
22 The sun ariseth, and they are gathered together: and they shall lie down in their dens.	22 a fim de que instruísse os seus grandes à sua vontade, e ensinasse a sabedoria aos seus anciãos.
23 Man shall go forth to his work, and to his labour until the evening.	23 Então Israel entrou no Egipto, e Jacob foi hóspede na terra de Cam.
24 How great are thy works, O Lord? thou hast made all things in wisdom: the earth is filled with thy riches.	24 E (Deus) multiplicou extraordinariamente o povo, e tornou-o mais forte que os seus inimigos.
25 So is this great sea, which stretcheth wide its arms: there are creeping things without number: Creatures little and great.	25 Mudou o coração destes para que odiassem seu povo, e usassem de enganos com os seus servos.
26 There the ships shall go. This sea dragon which thou hast formed to play therein.	26 Então enviou Moisés, seu servo, e Aarão, a quem tinha escolhido.
27 All expect of thee that thou give them food in season.	27 Operaram no meio deles as suas maravilhas, e os seus prodígios na terra de Cam.
28 What thou givest to them they shall gather up: when thou openest thy hand, they shall all be filled with good.	28 Enviou trevas, e fez-se escuridão. Resistiram porém às suas palavras.
29 But if thou turnest away thy face, they shall be troubled: thou shalt take away their breath, and they shall fail, and shall return to their dust.	29 Converteu-lhes as águas em sangue, e matou os seus peixes.
30 Thou shalt send forth thy spirit, and they shall be created: and thou shalt renew the face of the earth.	30 Encheu-lhes a terra de rãs, até (penetraram) nas câmaras dos próprios reis.
31 May the glory of the Lord endure for ever: the Lord shall rejoice in his works.	31 Falou, e veio uma nuvem de moscas, e (vieram) mosquitos por todo o seu território.
32 He looketh upon the earth, and maketh it tremble: he toucheth the mountains, and they smoke.	32 Em vez de água fez-lhes chover granizo, lançou um fogo abrasador pela terra deles.
33 I will sing to the Lord as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.	33 Assolou-lhes as videiras e figueiras, e quebrou as árvores que havia nos seus limites.
34 Let my speech be acceptable to him: but I will take delight in the Lord.	34 Falou, e vieram gafanhotos e pulgões sem número,
35 Let sinners be consumed out of the earth, and the unjust, so that they be no more: O my soul, bless thou the Lord.	35 que devoraram toda a erva da sua terra, que devoraram os frutos dos seus campos.
	36 E feriu todos os primogênitos da sua terra, as primícias de todo o seu vigor.
	37 E fê-los sair (os Israelitas) com prata e com ouro, e não houve um enfermo nas suas tribos.
	38 Alegraram-se os egípcios com a sua saída, porque o temor de Israel tinha-se apoderado deles.
	39 Estendeu uma nuvem que os cobrisse, e um fogo para que os alumiasse de noite.
	40 Pediram, e mandou codornizes, e de pão do céu os saciou.
	41 Fendeu a rocha e brotou água, correu pelo deserto como um rio.
	42 Com efeito, lembrou-se da sua santa palavra, que tinha dado a Abraão, seu servo.
	43 Tirou o seu povo com regozijo, os seus escolhidos com alvoroço.
	44 E deu-lhes as terras das nações, e apoderaram-se das riquezas dos povos,
	45 para que guardem os seus preceitos e observem as suas leis. Aleluia.
