Job 32

DOUAI-RHEIMSLXX
So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he seemed just to himself.1 ησυχασαν δε και οι τρεις φιλοι αυτου ετι αντειπειν ιωβ ην γαρ ιωβ δικαιος εναντιον αυτων
And Eliu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram, was angry and was moved to indignation : now he was angry against Job, because he said he was just before God.2 ωργισθη δε ελιους ο του βαραχιηλ ο βουζιτης εκ της συγγενειας ραμ της αυσιτιδος χωρας ωργισθη δε τω ιωβ σφοδρα διοτι απεφηνεν εαυτον δικαιον εναντιον κυριου
And he was angry with his friends because they had not found a reasonable answer, but only had condemned Job.3 και κατα των τριων δε φιλων ωργισθη σφοδρα διοτι ουκ ηδυνηθησαν αποκριθηναι αντιθετα ιωβ και εθεντο αυτον ειναι ασεβη
So Eliu waited while Job was speaking, because they were his elders that were speaking.4 ελιους δε υπεμεινεν δουναι αποκρισιν ιωβ οτι πρεσβυτεροι αυτου εισιν ημεραις
But when he saw that the three were not able to answer, he was exceedingly angry.5 και ειδεν ελιους οτι ουκ εστιν αποκρισις εν στοματι των τριων ανδρων και εθυμωθη οργη αυτου
Then Eliu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said : I am younger in days, and you are more ancient; therefore hanging down my head, I was afraid to shew you my opinion.6 υπολαβων δε ελιους ο του βαραχιηλ ο βουζιτης ειπεν νεωτερος μεν ειμι τω χρονω υμεις δε εστε πρεσβυτεροι διο ησυχασα φοβηθεις του υμιν αναγγειλαι την εμαυτου επιστημην
For I hoped that greater age would speak, and that a multitude of years would teach wisdom.7 ειπα δε οτι ο χρονος εστιν ο λαλων εν πολλοις δε ετεσιν οιδασιν σοφιαν
But, as I see, there is a spirit in men, and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth understanding.8 αλλα πνευμα εστιν εν βροτοις πνοη δε παντοκρατορος εστιν η διδασκουσα
They that are aged are not the wise men, neither do the ancients understand judgment.9 ουχ οι πολυχρονιοι εισιν σοφοι ουδ' οι γεροντες οιδασιν κριμα
Therefore I will speak : Hearken to me, I also will shew you my wisdom.10 διο ειπα ακουσατε μου και αναγγελω υμιν α οιδα
For I have waited for your words, I have given ear to your wisdom, as long as you were disputing in words.11 ενωτιζεσθε μου τα ρηματα ερω γαρ υμων ακουοντων αχρι ου ετασητε λογους
And as long as I thought you said some thing, I considered : but, as I see, there is none of you that can convince Job, and answer his words.12 και μεχρι υμων συνησω και ιδου ουκ ην τω ιωβ ελεγχων ανταποκρινομενος ρηματα αυτου εξ υμων
Lest you should say : We have found wisdom, God hath cast him down, not man.13 ινα μη ειπητε ευρομεν σοφιαν κυριω προσθεμενοι
He hath spoken nothing to me, and I will not answer him according to your words.14 ανθρωπω δε επετρεψατε λαλησαι τοιαυτα ρηματα
They were afraid, and answered no more, and they left off speaking.15 επτοηθησαν ουκ απεκριθησαν ετι επαλαιωσαν εξ αυτων λογους
Therefore because I have waited, and they have not spoken : they stood, and answered no more :16 υπεμεινα ου γαρ ελαλησαν οτι εστησαν ουκ απεκριθησαν
I also will answer my part, and will shew my knowledge.17 υπολαβων δε ελιους λεγει
Behold, my belly is as new wine which wanteth vent, which bursteth the new vessels.18 παλιν λαλησω πληρης γαρ ειμι ρηματων ολεκει γαρ με το πνευμα της γαστρος

I will speak and take breath a little : I will open my lips, and will answer.20 λαλησω ινα αναπαυσωμαι ανοιξας τα χειλη
I will not accept the person of man, and I will not level God with man.21 ανθρωπον γαρ ου μη αισχυνθω αλλα μην ουδε βροτον ου μη εντραπω
For I know not how long I shall continue, and whether after a while my Maker may take me away.22 ου γαρ επισταμαι θαυμασαι προσωπον ει δε μη και εμε σητες εδονται
