Douai-Rheims Le Sainte Bible Fillion
My spirit shall be wasted, my days shall be shortened, and only the grave remaineth for me.1 Mon souffle va s'épuiser, mes jours vont être abrégés, et il ne me reste plus que le tombeau.
I have not sinned, and my eye abideth in bitterness.2 Je n'ai point péché, et cependant mon oeil ne contemple qu'amertumes.
Deliver me O Lord, and set me beside thee, and let any man's hand fight against me.3 Délivrez-moi, Seigneur, et placez-moi auprès de Vous, et que la main de qui que ce soit s'arme contre moi.
Thou hast set their heart far from understanding, therefore they shall not be exalted.4 Vous avez éloigné leur coeur de l'intelligence; c'est pourquoi ils ne seront point exaltés.
He promiseth a prey to his companions, and the eyes of his children shall fail.5 Il promet du butin à ses compagnons; mais les yeux de ses fils tomberont en défaillance.
He hath made me as it were a byword of the people, and I am an example before them.6 Il m'a rendu comme la fable du peuple, et je suis à leurs yeux un exemple.
My eye is dim through indignation, and my limbs are brought as it were to nothing.7 L'indignation m'obscurcit les yeux, et mes membres sont comme réduits à rien.
The just shall be astonished at this, and the innocent shall be raised up against the hypocrite.8 Les justes seront dans la stupeur à ce sujet, et l'innocent s'élèvera contre l'hypocrite.
And the just man shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.9 Et le juste demeurera dans sa voie, et celui qui a les mains pures en deviendra plus fort.
Wherefore be you all converted, and come, and I shall not find among you any wise man.10 Vous tous, retournez-vous donc et venez, et je ne trouverai pas un sage parmi vous.
My days have passed away, my thoughts are dissipated, tormenting my heart.11 Mes jours se sont écoulés, mes pensées ont été renversées, et ne servent qu'à me torturer le coeur.
They have turned night into day, and after darkness I hope for light again.12 Ils ont changé la nuit en jour, et après les ténèbres j'espère encore voir la lumière.
If I wait hell is my house, and I have made my bed in darkness.13 Quand même j'attendrais, le séjour des morts est ma maison, et je me suis préparé mon lit dans les ténèbres.
If I have said to rottenness: Thou art my father; to worms, my mother and my sister.14 J'ai dit à la pourriture : Tu es mon père; et aux vers : Vous êtes ma mère et ma soeur.
Where is now then my expectation, and who considereth my patience?15 Où est donc maintenant mon attente? Et ma patience, qui la considère?
All that I have shall go down into the deepest pit: thinkest thou that there at least I shall have rest?16 Tout ce que j'ai descendra dans le plus profond du tombeau. Croyez-vous qu'au moins là je puisse avoir du repos?
