EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Del maestro de coro. De David. Salmo. Señor, tú me sondeas y me conoces	1 [For the choirmaster Of David Psalm] Yahweh, you examine me and know me,
2 tú sabes si me siento o me levanto; de lejos percibes lo que pienso,	2 you know when I sit, when I rise, you understand my thoughts from afar.
3 te das cuenta si camino o si descanso, y todos mis pasos te son familiares.	3 You watch when I walk or lie down, you know every detail of my conduct.
4 Antes que la palabra esté en mi lengua, tú, Señor, la conoces plenamente;	4 A word is not yet on my tongue before you, Yahweh, know all about it.
5 me rodeas por detrás y por delante y tienes puesta tu mano sobre mí;	5 You fence me in, behind and in front, you have laid your hand upon me.
6 una ciencia tan admirable me sobrepasa: es tan alta que no puedo alcanzarla.	6 Such amazing knowledge is beyond me, a height to which I cannot attain.
7 ¿A dónde iré para estar lejos de tu espíritu? ¿A dónde huiré de tu presencia?	7 Where shall I go to escape your spirit? Where shall I flee from your presence?
8 Si subo al cielo, allí estás tú; si me tiendo en el Abismo, estás presente.	8 If I scale the heavens you are there, if I lie flat in Sheol, there you are.
9 Si tomara las alas de la aurora y fuera a habitar en los confines del mar,	9 If I speed away on the wings of the dawn, if I dwel beyond the ocean,
10 también allí me llevaría tu mano y me sostendría tu derecha.	10 even there your hand will be guiding me, your right hand holding me fast.
11 Si dijera: «¡Que me cubran las tinieblas y la luz sea como la noche a mi alrededor!»,	11 I will say, 'Let the darkness cover me, and the night wrap itself around me,'
12 las tinieblas no serían oscuras para ti y la noche será clara como el día.	12 even darkness to you is not dark, and night is as clear as the day.
13 Tú creaste mis entrañas, me plasmaste en el seno de mi madre:	13 You created my inmost self, knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 te doy gracias porque fui formado de manera tan admirable. ¡Qué maravillosas son tus obras! Tú conocías hasta el fondo de mi alma	14 For so many marvels I thank you; a wonder am I, and al your works are wonders. You knew methrough and through,
15 y nada de mi ser se te ocultaba, cuando yo era formado en lo secreto, cuando era tejido en lo profundo de la tierra.	15 my being held no secrets from you, when I was being formed in secret, textured in the depths of theearth.
16 Tus ojos ya veían mis acciones, todas ellas estaban en tu Libro; mis días estaban escritos y señalados, antes que uno solo de ellos existiera.	16 Your eyes could see my embryo. In your book all my days were inscribed, every one that was fixedis there.
17 ¡Qué difíciles son para mí tus designios! ¡Y qué inmenso, Dios mío, es el conjunto de ellos!	17 How hard for me to grasp your thoughts, how many, God, there are!
18 Si me pongo a contarlos, son más que la arena; y si terminara de hacerlo, aún entonces seguiría a tu lado.	18 If I count them, they are more than the grains of sand; if I come to an end, I am stil with you.
19 ¡Ojalá, Dios mío, hicieras morir a los malvados y se apartaran de mí los hombres sanguinarios,	19 If only, God, you would kil the wicked!-Men of violence, keep away from me!-
20 esos que hablan de ti con perfidia y en vano se rebelan contra ti!	20 those who speak blasphemously about you, and take no account of your thoughts.
21 ¿Acaso yo no odio a los que te odian y aborrezco a los que te desprecian?	21 Yahweh, do I not hate those who hate you, and loathe those who defy you?
22 Yo los detesto implacablemente, y son para mí verdaderos enemigos.	22 My hate for them has no limits, I regard them as my own enemies.
23 Sondéame, Dios mío, y penetra mi interior; examíname y conoce los que pienso;	23 God, examine me and know my heart, test me and know my concerns.
24 observa si estoy en un camino falso y llévame por el camino eterno.	24 Make sure that I am not on my way to ruin, and guide me on the road of eternity.
