Psalms 62

1 A Psalm of David, when he was in the desert of Idumea.	1 Salmo di Davide, dato al capo de’ Musici, sopra i figliuoli di Iedutun. L’ANIMA mia si acqueta in Dio solo; Da lui procede la mia salute.
2 O God, my God: to you, I keep vigil until first light. For you, my soul has thirsted, to you my body, in so many ways.	2 Egli solo è la mia rocca e la mia salvezza, Il mio alto ricetto; io non sarò giammai grandemente smosso.
3 By a deserted land, both inaccessible and waterless, so I have appeared in the sanctuary before you, in order to behold your virtue and your glory.	3 Infino a quando vi avventerete sopra un uomo? Voi stessi sarete uccisi tutti quanti; E sarete simili ad una parete chinata, E ad un muricciuolo sospinto.
4 For your mercy is better than life itself. It is you my lips will praise.	4 Essi non consigliano d’altro che di sospinger giù quest’uomo dalla sua altezza; Prendono piacere in menzogna; Benedicono colla lor bocca, Ma maledicono nel loro interiore. Sela.
5 So will I bless you in my life, and I will lift up my hands in your name.	5 Anima mia, acquetati in Dio solo; Perciocchè la mia speranza pende da lui.
6 Let my soul be filled, as if with marrow and fatness; and my mouth will give praise with exultant lips.	6 Egli solo è la mia rocca e la mia salvezza; Egli è il mio alto ricetto, io non sarò giammai smosso.
7 When I have remembered you on my bed in the morning, I will meditate on you.	7 In Dio è la mia salvezza e la mia gloria; In Dio è la mia forte rocca, il mio ricetto
8 For you have been my helper. And I will exult under the cover of your wings.	8 Confidatevi in lui, o popolo, in ogni tempo; Spandete i vostri cuori nel suo cospetto; Iddio è la nostra speranza. Sela.
9 My soul has clung close to you. Your right hand has supported me.	9 Gli uomini volgari non sono altro che vanità, E i nobili altro che menzogna; Se fosser messi in bilance, Tutti insieme sarebbero più leggieri che la vanità stessa.
10 Truly, these ones have sought my soul in vain. They will enter into the lower parts of the earth.	10 Non vi confidate in oppressione, Nè in rapina; non datevi alla vanità; Se le ricchezze abbondano, Non vi mettete il cuore.
11 They will be delivered into the hand of the sword. They will be the portions of foxes.	11 Iddio ha parlato una volta, E due volte ho udito lo stesso; Che ogni forza appartiene a Dio;
12 Truly, the king will rejoice in God: all those who swear by him will be praised, because the mouth of those who speak iniquity has been blocked.	12 E che a te, Signore, appartiene la benignità; Perciocchè tu renderai la retribuzione a ciascuno secondo le sue opere
